Your spell

My thought was that you could be sure to get all of us on the inside, but it was highly unlikely that you could get the entire swarm inside the wall. We can't even see them all. The spell last quite a while - plenty of time if we are lobbing fireballs at them. I doubt running away is going to work. If these are gibberlings everything in the description implies that they would just follow after us.

But it is your spell. I understand your logic as well - do as you see fit. You could certainly cage a bunch of them.

still here

sorry for missing posts.

i had a family funeral spring up.

i've been in a funk an my days have run together an i lost track of time.

I should be getting back on track now.

umm Tann, with the book of gollum idk what its supposed to entail so im not sure what Alyia would retain from reading it.
the questions she would have asked about the creation scroll would be fairly basic...

like is the scroll enchanted or the ink?
how detailed dose it have to be? or is in about the (thought/image of the thing being created?)

umm Tann, with the book of gollum idk what its supposed to entail so im not sure what Alyia would retain from reading it. Its all below as far as what you can do with the book as far as creating one. As the book has not been opened the type of Golem created is yet unknown.

Sorry to hear about your loss but glad your ok and still with us.

Manual/Tome of Golems: This compilation is a treatise on the construction and animation of golems. It contains all of the information and incantations necessary to make one of the four sorts of golems.
The construction and animation of a golem takes a considerable amount of time and costs quite a bit as well. During the construction/animation process, a single wizard or priest must have the manual at hand to study, and he must not be interrupted. The type of manual found is determined by rolling 1d20 and consulting the table below:

D20
Roll
Type of Golem
Construction Time
GP
Cost

1-5
Clay (P)
1 month
65,000

6-17
Flesh (W)
2 months
50,000

18
Iron (W)
4 months
100,000

19-20
Stone (W)
3 months
80,000

Once the golem is finished, the writing fades and the book is consumed in flames. When the ashes of the manual are sprinkled upon the golem, the figure becomes fully animated.
It is assumed that the user of the manual is of 10th or higher level. For every level of experience under 10th, there is a cumulative 10% chance that the golem will fall to pieces within one turn of completion due to the maker's imperfect understanding.
If a priest reads a work for wizards, he will lose 10,000-60,000 experience points. A wizard reading a priestly work will lose one level of experience. The DM must decide in advance which it is meant for. Any other class of character will suffer 6d6 hit points of damage from opening the work.

Next Stop Bear Bottom Beach....

We are back in the boat. Is there a current or prevailing wind that would take us around the island as we search for another landing? Which direction?

Hmmmmm

Anybody else feel like we are approaching skull island?

Look out for big apes. Or at least a big cyclops.

Do we go ashore and hung gibberlings while it is light? We can't leave them alive to tail us once we go ashore, can we?

What to do

Not much to post on this week. We are on a boat. Sooner or later we will land and see what is there. May have to repeat a coupe times to find the right spot. Kind of at a loss for anything to say in character other than, "Hey that spot looks good."

Ok some info

Yes there is a nice Easterly wind, you can easily sail around the island. However to make things quick there is no other beach. The rest of the island consists of high stone cliffs and towering tree's.

How about giving us an idea just where we landed.

So then...

Shall we try and rest to regain spells, then approach the beach in the morning?

I agree with Nimu. Taking the time to rest in the boat would be helpful. We don't want any fatigue penalties or anyting to occur.

Also, I won't be able to make a post this week. I have a couple of midterms that I have been studying for. I'll make a back-post sometime after Wednesday though.

The FutureTrading post

The brown area represents the beach area though the trading post, represented by the yellow bldg is not there yet. The blue dot is a future pirate fort.

The tower is hidden somewhere in the woods.

Helpful..........

Wow..I was thinking we were on the east coast and had to trek across the whole island. So we sailed north and are on the north corner. Not as far from the blue dot.

Plan

I think it seems fairly obvious at this point.

Rest in the boat until morning - probably not enough to get spells back, but what can you do? The only question then is if we try to rest in the boat long enough to get spells - I'm inclined to say no, but Lothor isn't a spell caster so he'd follow their wishes.

We land during the day and move inland.

My preferences are as follows:

1. Land as soon as the sun is up and the gibberlings leave the beach.
2. We find the gibberlings nesting spots and dispatch them while they sleep. We can't leave them alive to follow us. They will. We don't know if we can find the tower by nightfall.
3. We go right away in the morning - this gives us time to deal with gibberlings and to start into the jungle while there is a lot of daylight left. I don't cherish the thought of a night in the jungle.

The only other real options in my mind are to either spend an entire day/night cycle in the boat to get spells back or to hit the beach early and run for the tower, ignoring the sleeping gibberlings and hoping we can get to the tower before the little buggers wake up. Neither seems like a good idea to me.

Can Peri fly up a bit and spot the tower from the shore or while we are at sea?
