Why, I never . . .
What? It is almost as if you think I would make some sort of sarcastic comment about the DM! That would seem foolish. I respect DMs. They are wonderful and wise and almost one year older. Happy Birthday!
And on to the game...
To the group:
Do we clear the other door to check on the hole?
If we leave it covered in ice it might protect us a bit - if those statues come alive, as we all seem to be expecting, perhaps the ones covered in ice will be contained by the ice. Why clear it off for them?
Check the pool with a coin?
Or just open the door and move out?
I suppose we can listen at the door and check for traps first, the usual dungeon stuff.
What else am I missing?

One Way..........
While Ulthok has cleared one way to go, does anyone else want to try to clear the other doors?
If we want to has have Cor casts Rest on Ulthok then in four hours instead of eight he could cast the Disintegrate spell again. I believe that is what we used to get the Enlarge Spell reverses to shrink down and ride the morphed Dragon form of Weaver.
Does anyone have a Mighty blade that can cleave the ice from the other door?

Sneaky.........
I just noticed how Tann has been applying the cool damage to Ulthok and Cor, they need to get back to the warmth and heal quickly.
Keeper, you better retreat Cor to the heat and heal!!!

Cor should not be taking damage as he is standing next to Sirene.

How ever the case the damage list shows Cor with 82 points of damage. I'd say that could use some healing.

Ody
Your reading it wrong.
The number in blue is your full hit points
The number in red is your current hit points if you have taken damage but have not healed.
So rt now you have 63 of 65 hit points, having taken 2 points so far, while Cor has 82 of 84 hit points.
You will be taking 4 more for time spent in the cold so you'll be at total of 59 hit points out of 65 having taken 6 points of damage. You may want to edit your post as you do not need that much healing

Ooops.........
Time for a rewrite..........
I think I've done that before..
Reading it as damage taken and not as health left........
Hey...I may be old...but I am slow!!!!!
Well with that said I feel it is time to find more the clues.
If there is a message on the north door then likely there is a message on the west doors. I think we need to clear the west doors and see if that is true. Any ideas on how to do that?
Tann, is the entire chamber coated in 18 inch thick ice.
? That includes the ceiling over our heads. Is the ice in the stairway overhead that thick too?

Holes, holes that need filling
There is also that hole above the west door. I suggest we clear it and let Ulthok stick his finger in it.
But seriously, it might be worth looking into it. Especially for someone with a little head that would fit. Our giant could pick you up and you could . . .
As for breaking the ice with a sword, Lothor has both a great sword and big axe. But I'm not sure how effective that will be. I'd also be a bit concerned about it sounding like a drum on the other side. I know things have been empty so far and I suspect anyone here knows about us already, but do we really want to announce our presence by beating on the door? Lothor will give it a shot if you want him to do so. I suspect it would take time.
I'm also still not positive that we want to take the ice off of the other door. It might have a message, but it also might contain the statues. Do we want to do anything with the magic statues? We could just open the door and take a peak.
Of course, something might tap us on the should per the song and make us lose touch with reality a bit. A frozen siren song?

A wall of fire or fireball would take care of the ice. The second would cause alot of steam.

What to do?
I can create a wall of fire, if that's what y'all want. Or maybe I'm strong enough now to lift someone up to check out the hole over the door?
If any magically inclined have a read languages spell, that may work on reading the door.
Thats all I've got at the moment.

Ice, Ice, Baby
I think the ice covering the hole would prevent us from seeing anything unless it is removed first.
I'd prefer to avoid the fire method of ice removal because of the steam/fog effect. Disintegrate worked really well, but that would take another day.
Since our actual goal is to find the magic source and just get the heck out of dodge, I'd suggest we just open the door (after the usual precautions) and see what we find. But for now Lothor is just standing by Sirene, Axe at the ready.

What Is Behind Door #2?
Here's an idea. What if our little giant gets the endure spell and steps out to the West door. Then she can lift Ulthok up toward the top of the doors about 5 feet away and he can cast Burning Hands. That fan of flame can then start to melt the ice. It can be directed to melt from the top down of the doors and statues. We can deal with any fog it may create. It should dissipate fairly quickly. If you want he can start with ice covered hole.
Down side, it may refreeze as it flows down. This may require more time to work through the 18 inches and then down. Will need to watch out that the giant doesn't get her feet frozen as the melt flows down.
Another option is the use of Flame Blade. It can be used to melt and slice the ice.
Let me know.

Need a lift?
That sounds like a good idea. I can definitely lift you up as soon as I get protected by the endure spell. I think the blade will work better, imho.

Blade
I suspect the blade might be better - more controlled and less overall steam/fog. Maybe. I don't really know the spell.
Go ahead and try it. We need to do something and right now we seem to just be sitting here talking about it. Lothor will be standing around watching and talking about it.

Sorry for the lack of responses, I got sick (again) and had schoolwork. It isn't my month.
Anyways, I do like the idea of using flame blade. It looks like Roan, Rayne, and Sirene are the ones with flame blade prepared. Rayne would be happy to use her spell to cut through the hole. Rayne could cast an endure spell on Aliya, and iron vigil on herself, then be good to go.
Alternatively, Rayne's bow shoots energy arrows. She could try to punch through the ice with that instead?
