Question answered

@Nomad

Tann - a question about the hole. This is above a door. What direction does the tunnel go? Normally I would expect an empty space on the other side of a door - another room or something. Does this hole seem to go into space that would normally be occupied by whatever is through the door? or does it go up or away from that space in some way? I was envisioning the hole being right at the top of the door frame - is this correct? In a spot like that it would be almost impossible for it to not open into the next room. I realize you can't, or won't, provide specifics, but am I envisioning it wrong? From what Ulthok can see, does it look like the tunnel goes into space in front of the door?
As far as Ulthok can tell it goes level straight towards whatever lays on the other side. As for its height it is not directly above the door but 2-3 meters up.

@Aletheia

I'm guessing he could either see further down the hole
Though it does not state that Jann have infravision per say I'll say he does. So yes he could as long as he was willing to enter the hole. He has the same vision as the rest of the meta's in the party.
He may know something of the type of pool in the giant's room, or at least what the liquid may be..

See Below

Can I see into the hole, and would I be able to se farther with my infravision?
No as you and Ulthok both have the same type of sight.

@General

He may know something of the type of pool in the giant's room, or at least what the liquid may be.
Once again the liquid is just water. No magical substance or such, but water somehow kept from freezing.

Before writing that Jin is helping check with Tann to see if the Endure spell on Alyia also covered Jin or if he needs a separate spell. Being in the ring worn by Alyia MAY allow the spell to be on him too.
No the Endure spell did not effect him as she has to first call him from his magical bottle. A new endure spell would need to be cast to protect him.

Little scouts

So is sending the Jin a little way down the tunnel a reasonable option? With an endure spell first, of course.

Hmm...

I also have the spell "Transmute Water to Dust" I can use on the pool lol . . .

That would certainly make it easy to see what's down in the pool

good idea

That plus a "clean" cantrip might make it really easy.

...

Sorry for the late response, but papers have snuck up on me. At least exams won't be bad this year.

For my thoughts, I agree with removing the water. Even if nothing happens, it probably would be wise to check.

As for the doors, I think the poetry on it may be indicative on what could be encountered past it. The most recent one, I suspect, means we will be attacked from below by something that burrows (assuming it is literal). It could be that we would have to dig or descend to reach something. Perhaps the object we are looking for (wishful thinking I know)? As for the 1st poem, I am not quite sure.

I'm Good........

Hey, you want to try Water to Dust..then go for it. That is one way (and the best so far) to open that passage. It will give us three ways to choose. I agree with Keeper, we can remove the dust.

This is all beyond Lothor

This is beyond a warrior, but . . .

It seems to me that getting rid of the water has a few potential issues. First, what volume will it take care of? Second, this thing seems almost like a whirlpool to me - with pipes cycling in water. Assuming we turn water to dust, then what happens if the pipes immediately send in more water? Have we accomplished anything? Will water falling into an empty tub splash? Will it create mud from the dust before we can "clean" it? Do we have a reason to believe it will get rid of all of the water?

Decided

Ok tonight I decided it might be better on everyone to go to an every other weekend posting time frame. This will give all players 2 weeks in which to post.

Hopefully this will get everyone posting once again.

Sorry...............

I've been a bit quiet lately. Having some computer issues. It's been taking my time in the evenings.

I've decided the best fix is to update my OS on my computers.
Spent too many nights try to get XP to work on my wife's computer. So now I've bought Windows 10 to add to three of our computers. Should try the first tomorrow on Momma Bears Vostro 1000. Then over the weekend I'll do my Inspiron E1505.

Anyway I like Nomad's thinking. Trying to get rid of the water may be more difficult than we first thought.

I haven't spent much time thinking about the door riddles, got to be something in those words.

If you have ideas for what to do go ahead and post them in the game thread in character. All the chat in here leaves the game flat and since ideas here are player only knowledge the characters can't interact and comment about the ideas. If you post early in the week make it somethign like:

Cor thinks a bit and then says to the others "We could cast a water to dust spell." Then someone else can give their thoughts on it or even post "I'll do it if there are no objections". If no one voices an objection the DM has something to go on for his post.

I've been kind of quiet as Cor has no real care what we do next.

No post Sunday once again

Taking my comp to Geek Squad to repair some corrupted files today so good chance I will not have it back by tomorrow night.

Also as there are no posts once again it really makes no difference. This leads me to do a roll call of players......

Who's still in, whose out, is Trilogy worth continuing?

Here Too............

Yep the Old Ody is here. I may be old but I am slow!

Between work and computer issues its been difficult to just sit and think about the story. I hope to post something tonight.

Ulthok will be more curious about trying the door with the "Burrow" message. I was thinking about if a levitate spell might lighten the doors enough to pull open.

We really have not tried to pull the doors open.

As Keeper said we should have the characters discuss stuff in story to make it get reactions from the GM.
------------
BTW
Discovered that Windows 10 works on older computers..BUT...you really need to upgrade the RAM too. Momma Bear's computer only had 1GB of RAM and it barely crawled along. Lucky my son's computer that had died had 2 2GB compatible cards that I installed and things are working better. So I say if you update plan to have 4GB RAM or better to run Windows 10.

I may have been better off just finding Windows 7 OS to update.

It will be a few weeks before I try to update my laptop. Thinking of buying two 4GB cards to see if 8 GB RAM works even better. (we are using DDR2 pc 5300 cards)
----------------------------

Just had thought... what if our giant pulled the doors open?
