Puzzled.........

The outer ring is not evenly spaced. It go 4 units, 2 units, 2 units, 4 units. Very strange.

This reminds me of the fish puzzle.

Rings

Ody - you are right that the 4,6,8,12 ring isn't evenly spaced, but the numbers do relate as opposites.

4 is opposite 8 - and is 1/2 of 8.
6 is opposite of 12 - and is 1/2 of 12.

I don't know if that matters.
I have no idea what it means.

The question would seem to be - do we try to move it?
I'd speculate - no.

That means we more on, right? Unless someone has a brilliant idea I'd guess we need to post in that way to keep things rolling.

Clarifaction

The numbers all line up and if you were to turn the small disc as you passed each number series you would hear a click, something like that on a stove or oven.

Blame it all on my lousy drawing skills

Time is a combination of future and past...

Sorry for delay, but I'm here.

Tann - yes, those staves will be getting heavy soon. Let's have her hold the staff of fury and stash the other two. She should be able to carry both in her girdle of many pouches, this way she will have on hand. But let me know, otherwise the offer from Talca is most welcome. Thanks, Eol!

Sundial - Remember the Legend Lore riddle too - "Time is fleeting, time is fast. Time is a combination of future and past." - Makes me think moving the numbers into combinations of opposites might be a thing.

Numerology

I think the comments about the numbers not being evenly spaced was about their numerical sequence, not the amount of space between the numbers. The numbers are physically equal distances apart, but that distance seems to represent amounts.

Wheel...Of.... ?????????

Well does the group want to try the dial puzzle? We can leave the dial behind untried or stash it in the bag of holding too to try later.

I have already posted last time leaving the room so for me my post is covered unless something happens that stops us from leaving the room.

Who wants to turn the dial? or do we stash it and travel on?

A theory . . .

The outer ring may be months (if this world has 12 like ours), or perhaps half a day (12 hours), and the inner seems to be time increments, as on a clock (15, 30, 45, minutes etc).

I agree we should dial something in a small increment and see what happens.

Too Heavy

The dial as you call it is attached to the table and too heavy to carry. Also it is magical and you don't yet know what type of magic good or bad.

Wing it

Lothor would prefer to not just "wing it" and guess. He suspects this is some powerful magic and might well just shift them to some other time in the past or future. But he has no idea. He would express his desire to not mess with it if they are clueless, but would follow the directions of those more knowledgeable (foolhardy?)in the ways of magic.

Move on?

Well..

Well one ring is in increments of 15..

Each one goes into the other 5 times with the exception of 4/15

Don't know if that helps any at all. So three of them could deal with the number 5 ?

The group was thrown 1200 years into the past.. Do we know the year we came from? (Maybe you turn the dial to the year)
