Welcome.  The party currently is pretty well stocked on foghters and healers.  We could really use another mage if you like playing them.  This is a high level campaign so mages are powerful and often relied on to keep the fighters safe.    Would love to see a new player in the game.

Welcome Wonderblue

Yes I have 1 more spot I'd like to fill and if your serious about joining its yours. As for a character type touch base with the rest of the players to see whats needed or if you want you can take over Valene if you have no problem playinmg female characters. In the end its up to you what typer of character you play but all I ask is you have fun doing so in my game. So create or take over get me the character info based upon the PM I'll be sending you on the creation guidlines.

Also SilentOne was correct I use mainly 2e rules with some rules learned here on the Inn to make things easier. How familiar are you with 2nd Edition?

Character

I will happily do a mage and I can do females juuuust fine.

I would prefer to bring my own character into the game, but if you all have your hearts set on Velene (I think that was how it was spelled, it's late, I'm groggy) I can attempt to do it.

I'll shoot that message to figure out character sheets before I decide who to bring in. I have two in mind, but one is married... so I'm leaning towards the other to keep her open for pairings. Ships make my heart happy.

I have never done second edition, but I'm not new to D&D in general. I learn fast.

Wonderblue and team.....

Valene was only a ready opportunity. Bringing in a mage would be good too. A multi class with fighting skills and magic skill could work. If you have played D&D then you know the idea of roll play and character play. Tann helps with the rules to keep things even and us off guard..lol. Back when the party found the sword in the mountain we had at least three spell slingers and working together they really helped, although at least one die in the attempt.

If you build a mage be sure to create your spell list (spell book) to let Tann know what spells are known. Also select magic items that enhance your characters abilities. Things like rings that add spells, items for protection, wands of various powers. Tann will have the final say on what he will allow and how many can be active at one time. For example we can only wear two rings at a time, even if you own more you would have to switch out. Amultes, pins , broaches and such need Tann's blessing as to how many are active. Also pick your clothing well, cloaks, armor, boots, hats, belts, garders,  gantlets and such. Then choose weapons that fit. All of this help keep your and our charaters alive when used well. As we face much higher level badies these can help even the power factor between them and us. We are 11th / 12th and they are 19 and up you all the help you can get. You may need special pouches or bags of holding to carry extra item to be used later. Ulthor and Cor have bag of holding that are used to carry some of our party items that have been found but not claimed, we sometime sell them to add to the party funds. I had spoke to Tann about building an archive of past character's sheet to help new folks with build ideas but I get it isn't that easy to do. If you look through our current characters it should give a good idea of what I mean for your build.

BTW team...I came across the list of items we aquired while in the City and the floating castle, be sure to check your records to see if your claimed items are on you list. We also have the opportunity to seek and buy items that may help. I'd think that after this last battle there may be a lot items available from those that would have died. The Kings would gathered these for distribution as the war is still continuing and there are murchants that may have found some to sell too.

Returning to the game

It's good to be welcomed back to the game. Some of you may remember me when I was active on the Inn a few years ago and played Lothor Greenbeard in this very campaign. I am returning to the game with a new character, my first instincts lead me to want to play a Bard, is there any multi class that would fit well with the party?

I intend to build the character around a support role as I have never had the oppurtunity to play a character like that before. If you have any ideas let me know on this thread or a private message. I am hoping to submit a completed character to Tann by next Sunday.

@Brundel @Wonderblue

Character wise best thing is to touch base with the party like Keeper has said. Afterall as the DM I'm just here to kill you all off

That is my exact attitude when I DM.

I'm thinking on going for more of a blaster, just having someone behind the bulky fighters to perform some evocation onto enemies without worrying about being a tank. Although, I'm having trouble finding out about the classes of second edition.

Edit: I found a PDF of the Handbook. I'm eyeing up humans and I am leaning towards specializing in Evocation at some point... since making things go boom is incredibly fun.

Characters.....

BTW.. anyone deciding to play a Paladin we have a Holy Avenger sword in our bag of holding. When Cor and Ulthok agree the fighter has proven themself to the party it would awarded. It has belonged to at least two party members and was recovered after their death for use by the next worthy party member.

Claimed items?

What do you mean, Tann? You mean check our character sheets in the character information topic?

The items were loot from earlier in the adventure and were claimed by those active characters. I wasn't sure if they had been added to the character sheets. I saw that Ulthok's were added.

Official start date

I wanted to get the game restarted tommorrow, however though I have been writing the post, I seem to have to contend with a few real life issues lol.

Sooo Wednesday will be the official restart and I'll post that day. Also I have decided to use the practice game the Dozing Dragon as the way Silent and Dragon-Soul's characters will enter the game. So please continue posting if you want to add a  bit more background as to how they 2 join the party.

Ok fingers crossed wednesday everyone.

Character sheets

You can easily see I need to edit the sheets due to the Inn's reworked code I guess you could say. When the sheets are first accessed they clump up like Cor's Ulthok and Sirene's have done. Please be patiant I am working on them but getting the game restarted is my first priority. They will be corrected and updated.

Spell Lists........

I will try to get an updated list of current spells.

I would hope that we might have another chance for changes once we have more information on our next assignment.

All we have to go on at the moment is we are back and time was effected by our actions. We need to be careful.

Tann, if it is reasonable, I'd like to have Ulthok do some study time with the Court Mages to learn four new spells to add to his book.
Level 3: Improved Magic Missiles, Evocation, WSC 2, Pg. 454

Level 4: Flamsterd's Flamestrike, Evocation, WSC 2, Pg 376

Level 5: Fallion's Fabulous Fireball, Evocation, WSC 2, Pg 339

Level 5: Snilloc's Major Missile, Evocation, WSC 3, Pg 833

I figure with the war being on that there are enough trained court Mages in the city to teach the knowledge so that Trilogy force can be armed as well as possible. Also there were likely loses to magic users so the the knowledge needs to be taught so it isn't lost.

I can copy the full discriptions and send them to you in an email.
