What would you do with a million pounds?

Let’s imagine that you won the lottery, or finally got round to writing that best selling book, or built a doomsday device and persuaded the United Nations to buy you off.

Anyhow, you’ve now got a million more pounds (or dollars, or euros or whatever your local currency may happen to be) than you did before: what are you going to do with it?

hmmmm...

I would pay off all my bills, invest a BUNCH of it, build a vacation home in the mountains (site tbd), one on the coast (site TBD), retire and travel the world
I know, there was no mention of giving to the needy...that's cuz I'm GREEDY!!

bills bills bills

Pay all my bills, kill off my mortgage, and then renovate my house in all the ways I've wanted to but couldn't.

Buy Olan a dedicated server for the Website, with all the T1's and T3's and whateveragizmos he needed to never crash again. Then pay him to run the website.

Buy my brother a house so he would never have to live in a basement apartment again. Fly him off to some remote place to work with doctors and trainers in order to deal with his weight problem.

Then ... Hold a huge RDI festival and pay to fly everyone there and back.

Sigh ... dreams.

As for me

Invite all my friends round to a party at my house in York to celebrate.

Buy a car.

Go on a holiday to somewhere warm (I’m thinking along the lines of California, South Africa or Singapore).

Spend a stupid amount on Hammerfall and Manowar CDs

Stash the rest away in a bank to pay for my first house after leaving uni.

hmmm

Upgrade my comp, buy a car and pursue a collection of historical tomes by famous authors like Stephen E. Ambrose and Ryan Cornelious. Then I would buy the complete set of Hendrix albums including the BBC tapes. Also graphic novels like batman, and some manga. but before all that I'd like to build a house for transients, runways and people out of rehab. Spend a good chunk of money getting them back on their feet.

plan

I would pay off my student loan and my credit card, buy a house in Holland, The USA and a villa in Sicily, I would pay off my brother's house and student loan, pay off my parent's house, donate some to Amnesty International and The One Foundation and then invest the rest for my future children.

pounds

I'd take the million pounds and hit up a currency exchange rate, which would produce like 1.8 million USD
