Edit done

Ok, I edited my post so that Frank and Frankie didn't miraculously teleport from the fire escape to stand beside the opposite wall.

Btw. What's the chance of Peacekeeper getting a shot through the metal grills of the escape stairway and hitting Guardian? Not that he is willing to risk it.

Don't get me wrong

No, don't go changing anything. Brom will rule of course, but until you actually shoot (hope you don't), that sounds good enough for me.

She might feel she has the shot, but still Peacekeeper is just another character like Guardian or Croaker and we're all supposed to be on the same level, so to speak. So she won't automatically hit everything (read Guardian), at least not necessarily well enough to drop him before he pulls of a shot of his own.

But what I mean to say is - your post was just ok by me. I was only wondering "aloud". Oops! Don't mean to tell anyone how to play either. Guess that's the DM/GM in me talking again. Sorry.

*shakes head*

Nah, I had to alter it anyways. But yeah, definitely need to finish altering it. I would have finished, but ran out of time. I hope I have more time to fix it up, but doubtful.

Clarification

OK, for those keeping track it is the 7th round of combat. That means that you are in the 21-23rd seconds of the minute.

Yes, Coyote is dead. Head shots do that. Thanks for playing Blammm. If you feel up to adding another character, or taking over one of those that need a player, let me know.

There's a fine Mexican Standoff (no offense meant) at the foot of the fire escape still. I tried to relay positions and realities in the post, but here's a reiteration:

Croaker: Standing at ground level at the foot of the fire escape stairs. The alley that you are in isn't wide, but behind you it opens to the parking lot. There is a fence there--chainlink--but there's also a opening in the fence, though it is monitored by an encased camera and is only as wide as a doorway. Guardian and DigitalScribe are about fifteen feet above you (their feet are) and Guardian still has his weapon pointed at your head. From their position, even though DigitalScribe has got his side to you so he can look up and keep their back's covered, it wouldn't take much for him to point that Sternmeyer at you either. You've heard the gunfire from inside as well as the louder gunfire from around the corner and down the alley you'd just traversed, but you can't see the assailants either way.

Bullseye: You've made it to a point where you'd just thrown it into reverse and were starting to back up when the gunfire erupted. You'll see a large number of gangers pouring from the building where you just were (thank goodness you moved, or you'd have been Swiss cheese) and they've already started opening up on you. The van is being riddled with bullets. You can hear the ping and clang of them striking the cargo space behind you and the bullets darting about inside. Your angle isn't such that they've had a clear shot on the cabin, and you've definitely heard Preacher's yell to git!

Preacher: The solo is currently firing back at the gangers running from the entrance of the building.

Firewind: Between the third and fourth floors on the fire escape, you've been moving a little slower for fear of slipping on the metal. The woman you are carrying isn't exactly heavy (maybe 120 lbs.) but she's limp as a rag doll and more than a little cumbersome. You've not really been able to see much of anything below and your last conversation piece was called down to Spiff instead of casually conversed. You've certainly heard all the gunfire though. Your position puts you approximately 35 to 40 feet (10.5 meters). Unobstructed, just walking, you move 8 meters/phase. This puts you two phases from the bottom with your baggage considered. Running, you could be at the bottom by the end of the phase, but you'd have to make an Athletics check to succeed without slipping and falling. Yes, you know DigitalScribe. He's the one that turned you onto this job and you've worked together before. In the past he was always after the story, but you've noticed a little bit of a soft streak in him, and this is one reason why you've trusted him in the past.

Peacekeeper: You've no real shot. I apologize if I gave you the impression that you didn. You're between the 5th and 6th stories, that puts you at roughly 55 feet up (16.7 meters up), and you've got four more levels of the fire escape between you and the action below. Fireing through one of those would be difficult at best, but all of them? No chance. You can't see inside the building anymore either as you've dropped below the window line. Your current position puts you three phases from reaching the bottom at a walk, but running, you'd be able to make it in one, though you'd also have to make an Athletics check (not as difficult since you aren't carrying anyone else) to keep from slipping and falling. You did hear the cracking of wood and can easily assume the gangers have come through the door to the suite that you guys barricaded with a couch, but you can't see them. And for your knowledge; Frankie is DigitalScribe, the media "friend" of Croaker's. Frank is Guardian, DigitalScribe's bodyguard. Of course, you only know DigitalScribe, and you know him more as Jumper than DigitalScribe. Confusing, neh?

Spiff: You're quick... you've made it to the level right above DigitalScribe and Guardian, actually to the stairs leading down to their level. This puts you 20 feet up from the ground (6 meters) and looking down on the standoff. You would have easily put two and two together to determine that this media must be DigitalScribe, and you've heard his offer. You could very easily be ground-level within this phase. Also, just so you are aware, if you were to try and bring your weapon to bear, you'd likely have DigitalScribe's weapon pointed right at you within short order (I'd have to roll an initiative check to determine who's quicker), but like I said, you heard DigitalScribe's offer. You've heard the gunfire from above and from the front of the building as well.

Guardian: You stand fifteen feet above ground level (4.5 meters). You could easily achieve ground level within this phase. You've still got your weapon trained on Craoker, but you've heard the gunfire from up front and above. You're also aware of Spiff, Firewind, and Peacekeeper up above as well. You can use the reflection in the windows of the building across the alley to determine locations without taking too much away from watching Croaker, which is why I've still giving you your aim bonus (you just entered round two).

DigitalScribe: the media is on level with Guardian, though he's turned sideways so that he can keep Spiff in his line of sight same as he can keep Croaker. He hasn't raised his weapon towards either man, but he could very easily. His camera is still off.

Hope that helps keep everything clear. Good luck folks.

VAN, street, alley and gangers

Could you please update the image from earlier to reflect current locations of all parties involved. I would be helpful to me to figure out what course of action weould be best even thou the van is being riddled with rounds. Also, could you post a zoom out of the city block we are on showing buildings, allies and streets. The van and people would not be neccesary for the larger view. If you can't post here, could you email it to me. I will post once I have a better idea as to what and where the action is taking place on the ground.

Question

I've been watching the walls of the building, the hole, as I ran down. What are they like? Am I looking at windows? brick? doors? what?

a nice post...

I'll be working on making a nice post today. I don't have any plans on heading over to the boat today, so I should have just about all day. As long as my computer doesn't act up as it has been. I think we need to get it fixed. I need to reply today, because tomorrow I'm probably not going to be home until late.

Updated Maps and Other Requests

Updated position map (please keep in mind the height differences mentioned in the descriptions):

City Block Map:

Answer for Sui's question:
Each level has windows running across with one window giving access to the fire escape and at least two others along the length of the fire escape landings. Inside these windows there's been little glimpses of ganger activity; mostly running out of rooms or barricading doors, but nothing coming towards the windows thus far.

based on small and large maps

I'm guessing we are on the center block, top right corner building. If I'm correct on this accessment, a few more questions as being the driver of the group, i would have pulled recon before the strike to aquire this info in advance anyways. The parking area in the middle, is it above/below ground multi level? Does it have a height restriction? is it surrounded by chainlink fence or concrete walls? That area between the 2 building middle, center block, top, is it all open space? Any obstructions towards the back corner of the building we are currently at? The streets connecting to the parking area, are they gated, fenced, gaurded or anything else special I should be aware of?

The parking lot is ground level, fenced in with a chainlink fence and open on the street entrances. Each entrance has an encased camera, and the lot is pretty well-lit. The space you are referring to has little in the way of obstructions. Should be easy enough to manuever through. The tight spot would be the alley you are currently trying to back the rig into.

I'm working on another writing project right now and that's taking up a lot of my evening time. I hope to get a post in place no later than this weekend in all the games I run and play in. Thanks for your patience.

Its coming...

I still haven't forgotten about the game. I promise. This week has been hectic, but in a fun way. June is a big month for my family by way of birthdays and such so this whole week we've been celebrating birthdays (practically every night of the week). Got another tonight. I guarantee posts soon though. I promise.

Updated Combat Information

Croaker: You'll arrive at the corner to find Preacher ready to turn tail and head back down the alley. The gangers that had erupted from the entrance are all dead, but there are some still peaking around the corner and shooting in that direction, so popping around the corner might cause some danger for you. You also received Bullseye's rather abrupt message, but couldn't respond before he ended the call.

Bullseye: Some excellent driving, but I don't expect anything less from a driver like Bullseye. You managed those turns with expertise and have parked in a place where the team could access the van rather easily provided they have a few seconds to get there. You can see the back southwest corner of the Hole and the firefight that has broken out on the second story. You can see Spiff is pinned at the corner, Guardian (who you don't know) and Peacekeeper caught on the stairs, Firewind and DigitalScribe moving towards you with a body thrown over Firewind's shoulder, but there's no sign of Preacher or Croaker.

Preacher: The solo will be turning to high tail it back down the alley that Croaker is approaching him from. Upon seeing Croaker he'll likely yell out something like, "Git, son! Are ya daft? They'll be comin' outta that building like a mob of angry steers all stampedin' and such!" as he runs past.

Firewind: You've successfully traversed the stairs and are now on your way to the van with DigitalScribe's lucky direction putting you in line with Bullseye's rescue attempt. You'll reach the van this phase.

Peacekeeper: You're in trouble. You're between the second and third story. You know gangers are coming out on the sixth any second, and now you've got people firing through the second story windows at you... and they have automatic weapons. You can see Spiff stuck on the second story landing at the corner, his only options to either go over the edge, or risk being shot up as he races for the stairs and your position.

Spiff: Bad decision to head over to the corner. Now you're trapped. You can see Firewind and DigitalScribe making their way towards the van which just pulled up, but unless you drop over the edge (about twenty feet) you're stuck running the gauntlet to the stairs.

Guardian: You lucked out with that shot. The gunmen inside were either too scared or startled to line up accurately. You could have been turned to Swiss cheese. But you also know that not all of them fired their weapons so there's still a whole lot of lead coming your way in the near future. You could bolt for the stairs. You are quick, but being quick and dead isn't much good. You're about twenty-five feet up from the ground.

DigitalScribe: The media is helping Firewind make his way to the van, camera rolling.

Please keep in mind that each phase is only three seconds when you post your reactions.
