Do you make the combat rolls for the battle? I have already stated my intent to fire at the goblins and orcs as they hit the entangles. Do I need to state anything further or make any rolls?

As I start each round with a set up, as I did with my last post, then you are to post you actions, unless you have preset your intentions, as some have did.

Even though you have stated basically what you will do for the fight, I want to see a post for every action round. You can add your thoughts about how things are going, or changes in plans, and the key point of combat posts is a description of you actions.

As the DM Deity alMighty I want in to hear, see, and feel all of my PCs in action, and in roleplying to. But you all have been doing a fine job is your posts.

Ok I am back home and glad to be so but yet sad and already missing my son. ~sigh~ Where’s Jessica Alba when you need her.
Ok this week I will not be posting as I need to regroup back to the Real World as far as sleep patterns and work but starting Monday I will return full force.

Once again I have questions about my ranger character.This time about his contact with his animal companion.What type of link do they have can Xour call him in at any time or do they need to be in actual physical presence of each other.The question for this round is this can I call the wolf into combat to go and help Brianna and Highnar by attacking some of their opponents from their flank, or is there no way I can communicate my intentions to my companion.
Please let me know asap so I can finish my post Thanxs once again Dragonmist.

PS:Back when I first joined this game in the thread "need a couple of players" I had made a request to Dragon Mistress to change the spells that Xour was carring or that he prepared for her is that post in its entirity.

The Character named Xuor looks like he should be fine to play.Everything looks fine.I would however like to change the spells he has memorized to ones I would more likely have picked if that is oky.

These would be
First Level; Entangle, and Summon Nature Ally 1

Second Level: Summon Nature Ally 2

I hope this won't be a problem and look forward to getting started.Just tell me when and where to jump in and I will be there.

PS: I see that the group is involved in a battle right now and that you had posted for Xuor playing him as a npc for now.Would you like me to wait till this confrontation with these orcs is over or would you like me to jump right in and take Xuor over right now. Just let me know.

Please jump right in. And thank you for the clue to O&A, I often forget to check it out.

From what I know companions start out as a follower, they probably would protect you as needed, if they are of that type that can. Only with training can they be used to follow commands. I say that Daug has had some training, like basic dog commands. I would say that you may have been trying to train him to attack, but you are not in a position, being in a tree, to give him the direction by pointing at the target as you have been training him to do.

Magic in my game. if you know the spell you can use it. I go by a pool of points. Lvl 0=1/2pt, Lvl 1=1, Lvl 2=2 etc.

So using the number of spells you have a day you can use your points as needed. If you have a pool 10 points you can use them to cast any spell you know. Spells do not disappear when you cast them. You can use the same spell over and over until your points are used up.

You had pointed out in your previous post :

From up in the trees Vatta and Xuor can see the whole field. Vatta finally spots what seems to be the biggest Orc on the field and he seems to be bellowing commands that bring together some of the Orcs into some sort of formation. He is wearing a suit of chain mail and carries a Great Orc Double Ax.
Therefore in my action post for this round.. I posted for Vatta:

Spotting the large Orc well armored and armed as she notches another arrow, Vatta smiles and going to one knee on the limb to steady her aim, she draws a careful bead on the leader. Seeing the chain mail she aimes high, towards the throat, which this type of armor usually doesn’t cover, or the head if he isn’t wearing a helm.
In your DM post you posted:

Vatta's bow sings out 3 times and one goblin and one orc go down in the second set of attackers closing on Brianna and Highnar. Another Orc takes an arrow in the chest.
So does this mean that one of the Orcs that Vatta took down was the ‘Leader’ or Large Orc? Please clarify. Thanks!
