New here

Well Duh!

I'm new here of course. I stumbled upon this site doing a search and found the RPG site that listed a bunch of sites and I decided to check out the top ones.

Some of the others have too many restrictions about who can join, I like that I can join on this one even though I am a total Roleplaying Noob. I have done some chat Roleplaying but nothing with rules and nothing in a play-by-post setting.

I have looked around and found a post for us noobs, and wish to thank the poster (Pit Fiend) for his advice. I will take it to heart.

I hope to find some type of game, probably what you call Free-form as I dont know anything about the game systems you people play.

Well, hope to see you all around.

Happy RPing!

Jack

asdf

If you end up here a long time your name will become incredibly ironic and the robot that hates people with ironic names will track you down and punch you right in the kneecap.

More than once.

You have been warned.

Hey there!

Well, first of all welcome to the inn, what many of us consider our home away from home.

Take this towel, you may need it.

As for games, Ive been working on a new rule system that simplifies the rules in a way that makes the gaming experience fun and easy even for noobs. Check it out in Creativity forums --> personal creations --> Q4S chatroom gaming system.

As for your name, you may wanna change it later, because if you stick around here for any length of time, you won't be a Noob (or Newb) for long. lol

Been warned.

But no matter how long I stay I could still be a noob.

What is a Grugg btw?

Towel?

What is the Towel for? Is it going to rain in here? The Inn have holes in the ceiling?

A Grugg is aweome incarnate!!!

And... I'm Eol... the next best thing...

Welcome aboard, Noob! And, if you're looking for soemthing psuedo-freeform and a wee bit salty, may I recommend Tales from the Smuggler's Moon ("shameless plug")...

Take a look and, if your're interested, shoot me a PM or post to ye olde recruitment thread and I'd be glad ta entertain the notion....

There are, of course, plenty of other games looking for players so just browse the recruitment forums and I'm sure you'll find something.

And, as always, if there's anything I can do just give me a shout. I love bein' helpful and such.

Ah so that explains the towel, thanks for the wet welcome.

I will check out the recruitment thread. A freeform Sea adventure eh? I will read up on it and let you know if I am interested. Thanks!

Welcome to the Inn....

Thought I'd pop in here and add the Ody welcome.

Pop into the DragonChat where I act as current resident bar tender. We offer our very own "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh", the stale pale ale with the foam on the bottom.
Just grab a mug off the mantel and draw a cold frosty one.

My assistant Igor is usually lurking around if I'm not there.

He never says anything, must have something to with having his tongue cut out by his last boss, that nasty bar tender over at the Orc Bar & Grill.
I'll have him put out a plate of "Lady Fingers" in your honor.

Reminds me we need to have another "Ladies Night" and restock.

Anyway the Posting Games are great place to get to know folks and of course the DragonChat is our favorite lounge.

So lurk or play, welcome to the Inn!

i see you got facelicked, good for you! surprisingly there are a rare few who havent gotten facelicked by eol.
if you want to find a game just wait, theres always someone summoning in a game every now and them.
game rules shouldnt be too hard to understand and if there is someone will always be willing to explain.
oh and dont worry, youll find out what a grugg is sooner than later.

Come on in(n)!

Welcome on board, it's always good to have another member.

In all honesty - don't worry about the game systems. I think, on balance, only about half (give or take depending upon the genre) of adventures here actually rely on a pre-published set of rules, such as Dungeons and Dragons. I myself only know the rules of a very rarely played version of the game, myself.

If you're looking for freeform, there's plenty out there looking for a new player. I'll take this chance to plug a couple of games I'm a part of - Flux Wars and Footprints: Corruption in Tithuania.

Even if you're not interested in anything just yet, and don't want to start your own game; there's plenty to do. The creativity forums and the chat forums, for example.

Anyway, first round's on me. Cheers.

Welcome

Let me be another of the Inn’s Staff member’s to welcome you to our site. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn.

The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.
So again welcome its always nice to have new people come to us and I hope you’ll feel quite at home here.
And though this is the greeting I post to all newcomers do not feel that I am not glad to see a new person come to our home, far from it. Its just easier and quicker this way as we do get a lot of newcomers at times. So then If you have any questions about the site feel free to PM myself or any other Staff member as needed.

Welcomes

Thank you all for the warm welcomes, and the one wet one. I had to take a shower after that facelick.

I have been reading alot and do see one game that interests me. I will be PMing my interest to the game owner today and inquire about my chances of joining.

Thank you all again.

Jack
