Er

Well, I would write a long post but that's been done already by everyone else.

I mean, I don't even need to plug my games anymore, everyone else does it for me

So yeah, welcome, what they said, yada yada

EDIT: oh, and to clarify what Celtia said about game systems: for one, most of the systems used here are homebrew or published-but-so-modified-they-may-as-well-be-homebrew, so nobody expects you to really know the system in play.
In any case, most GMs are happy to deal with the number crunching and let you play

Hooray!

Greetings RP!

I'm glad you found a game you were interested in! The beautiful thing about the Inn is that you don't have to know the game systems in most instances. More often then not, the most you deal with it is in character creation, then the DM takes over the reins and all you have to do is to write goodies for your character!

I've played a number of games here were I don't understand the system at all, and my DMs have been very helpful in assisting me in character creation.

I'm thrilled you stumbled upon us! Hope to see you in the threads!

Ahoy, there!

Greetz and Well Met, RP Noob!!

I'm so glad you found the sticky useful! Of course, now that rather cuts down on all the stuff I used to say in these intro threads. So, have a tall stein of spiced mead by way of further welcome and have fun here!!

Welcome, welcome

I'm nowhere near as active as I used to ‎be, nor as I would like to be, but I welcome you to our little corner of Internet Madness all the same. As many others before me have said, take a look around, you're sure to find something to your liking, and even the rule-based games are usually rules-light. A lot of the rules and various rule-based actions are taken care of by the GM [Game Master, also known as a Dungeon Master, or in some cases a Story Teller] and as long as you make it clear what you want your character to do a good GM can easily cover the rules required for that course of action or a very similar one. So, I guess what I am trying to say is, don't let the rules intimidate you, you may find you'll have a ton of fun and meet some great, albeit slightly insane, people to call friends.

And about the name, we were all Noobs/Newbs at one point or another, even if some of the Old Folks can't remember that far back.
