Graffton

Graffton
Graffton is located in western Irvala. Geographically speaking, it is not tremendously far from Cill Cerces, but bad road conditions to the south make that trek a ten day trip on foot. Like most other settlements, it is a grain community, serving its role to its the nation by the production of wheat, oat, and barley, although an iron mine a day and a half from the edge of town allows it to remain reasonably self-sufficient.

The populous numbers a few hundred, mostly Syln. The town sees a reasonable amount of travellers, though not as many as it used to, due to its proximity to Cill Cerces and its placement along a major trade circuit. Homes are typically made of fired mud bricks, and are simple in design, being of the dugout hut style. The exception to this architectural style is the Graffton Inn, which is a two story building built of mortared stone, and the forge of Maelon O'Meere, also stone.

The leader of Graffton is a man named Brandon Taer, who primarily serves as the representative to others during town matters, as well as the speaker if officials ever arrive from the Cities.

Businesses of Graffton and their Operators The Graffton Inn (Bruce Taeves)
The Grinning Grasscat (Mary Silcher)
Bakery (Molly O'Kreen)
Seamstress (Lizbeth Brier)
Graffton Forge (Maelon O'Meere)
Graffton General Goods (Patrick Vaylin)
Goldenfield Grocer (Janice Filbur)
Woodworker (Sullivan Vann)
Graffton Stables (Roger and Ellie Finn)
Temple of Hamar (Sister Myrah Lonse)

On the first and seventeenth of each month, a merchant passes from the north, with whom trade orders can be placed for goods from Parinos. On the tenth and twenty-fifth, a merchant arrives in town from the south, enabling the grain production of Graffton to be transported back to the capital. While it does well enough for itself, the town is still far enough removed from the major urban centres to make it challenging to purchase certain things, and as such, special orders can often be placed with the merchants to make those goods attainable, if they're patient enough to wait.

(This should about do it. Sorry to have neglected getting this up last night! This is just a base, base overview of the town. It'll come more to life as we get started up. Any specific questions on the town, feel free to ask me)

Grasscat

Indeed, the Grasscat is a tavern. The inn has a bar as well, but the Grasscat is specifically a tavern.

Mahlport

The trip between Malhport and Graffton is about sixteen days on the road. Like pretty well the rest of Brandost, it's fields.

conversation

How are we doin conversation posts? I am on frequently, but hate to post alot more than anyone else. Generally, i try to limit myself with 1 action-taking post per cycle of every player posting, but sometimes makes conversations short-lived and such
Are we doing convo rounds as free posts or shall I continue to limit those as well?

Speaking for myself...

I'm easy. If you don't want to overpost, one idea might be to PM each other our individual bits of conversation and then do one post with the whole convo in the game thread. But I'm good with whatever.

EDIT: I'll wait to see if you're up for doing the convo by PM before I respond to your response-hehe.

Great!

Some pretty solid starts here so far. Liking what I've seen from you guys here. And instant beginnings to RPing, too, which I majorly dig. I think I had mentioned how conversations can be handled over in the Round Up thread, but just in case I didn't, dialogues can be handled via PM, with one person submitting a post for both. If you do, just specify that it was a joined effort with whomever partook, just so I'm aware. But when it comes to between players, feel free to go for as much as you like. Especially in standby situations like being in town.

If need be for certain cases with NPCs, dialogues can be done with me, as well. But for general NPC's, like speaking to a commoner or something, you can write your own dialogues there. If information need be received, I can assist in some such cases.

Question: Mahlport and Wars ?????

How many battles were fought in Mahlport and the surrounding areas to the east of Mahlport; around or in the Pallmere Mountains; plus to the north and south of the area between Mahlport and the Pallmere Mountains over the past 10-20 years or more ?????

May be Known by Reputation

I realized this morning that I did not mention in my post that Adelror has a Ruby Gem braided in his beard.

Therefore, I will be adding more to my original post to cover how he received the Ruby Gem, which means that some of you may have heard of him by his Reputation or know about someone who was impacted by his heroism ???

Basically, the Duskarn War Cleric of Dareen was awarded the Ruby Gem by a group of Duskarn Elders after liberating a large group of prisoners from some Orc Slave Pens and Orc/Half Orc Breeding Pens!

The group included various Duskarn, Buunta, Dur'Amani and Syln prisoners!

It may take me a while to get this edited into my Game Post, but at least you other players now have some info to possibly incorporate into your Role Play as the adventure progresses!
