The second RDInn generation has come to play

Hey guys, I've finally come to try out the site that my father and step-mother played on for years. They actually met on this site and have amazing stories about their games. Now that I'm a father, I dont have a lot of time to go out with my friends and play a campaign (once a month at most) and so I wanted a place where I could get my RP on without having to worry about traveling anywhere. I hope to become just as involved on my parents where and have some great stories to tell my child when she grows up. Still getting the jist of the rules (Forum RP has always scared me a little). Any tips from other veterans would be great and I hope to everything turns epic!

Welcome!

I may not be a veteran, but lemme welcome you to the Inn! If any games are looking for players, stop by the recruitment threads, and you can always check out other games that are in play! I'd recommend looking up Trilogy War, one of the longest running games on the site.

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

thanks

Thanks! Right now I'm just getting the newbie posts read so I understand everything and wont peeve anybody off. Then I will get into the RP. I have a character in mind already so I'll have to figure out a way to be able to transfer him over and find a game he'll fit into. (some games done work well with him...I know...I've tried)

Hello......... Time to add the Ody welcome.

Welcome!!!!!

A really good place to start here is “Pit F(r)iend's epic guide to getting started for newbies.” That will help you figure out how to navigate the halls of the Inn.
To meet folks in real time pop into the DragonChat where I act as the current resident bar tender. We offer our very own "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh", the stale pale ale with the foam on the bottom.
Just grab a mug off the mantel and draw a cold frosty one.

My assistant Igor is usually lurking around if I'm not there.

He never says anything, must have something to with having his tongue cut out by his last boss, that nasty bar tender over at the Orc Bar & Grill.
I'll have him put out a plate of "Lady Fingers" in your honor.

Reminds me we need to have another "Ladies Night" and restock.

Anyway the Posting Games are great place to get to know folks and of course the DragonChat is our favorite lounge.

So lurk or play, welcome to the Inn

Welcome to the Inn.

Let me be another of the InnMates to welcome you to our site. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn. Also a good place to start here is “Pit F(r)iend's epic guide to getting started for newbies.”. Which itself was written by an Inn member to help new people just like you figure out how to navigate the halls of the Inn.

The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.

On another note you say your Dad and Step-Mom met here can I ask their names by chance? Lastly here’s a towel, always keep it handy as Eol, one of our Staff members likes to lick newcomers and he sometimes forgets who he has licked and then licks them again.

hey there hi there ho there!

......And welcome to the inn!

You mentioned forum rp? As a veteran player and DM, Patience is a virtue here. you may be tempted to control someone's character to move things along. Don't, big no no around here. Also because you're new, read this post a buddy of mine (ours) wrote a while back.....
So you're new here, read this
