Players wanted - old school

You are sailing from Bayris to Portua, Pardinal in search for a means to sustain your career as an adventurer and keep enough coin in your purse to stay fed. It is a five day journey on a ship called the Minnow but after three days the weather takes a turn for the worse, and a storm tossed the Minnow around like the proverbial fish it is named after. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost.

And then a lightning bolt killed the crew and waves split the ship in half. You cling to the pieces of wreckage hoping for a miracle....

So I am looking to start a game, set in Audalis, for 1e/2e players. Players should be chosen from the Audalis races (preferably the classic races of Human, Sylvari, Khordaldrum, Cidal) and have just reached second level in their chosen field. If you want to play multi-class then you have enough xp to get to second level in one profession (whatever takes the least). As this is Audalis, it will be a low magic items game.

Attributes should add up to be no more than 90 points with only one stat at 18. Hit points should be maximum. The party can be up to 6 players and should have one of the four major classes (Fighter, Rogue, Mage, and Cleric). If you wish to play a Mage, then I use a mana based system that allows Mages to be useful at low levels (1 mp = 1 1st level spell, you get mana bonuses for INT). If you wish to play a cleric, I don’t restrict the domains.

I am looking for once a posting and your do not have to write novellas. This is a dungeon romp, starting out at the entrance and I am not looking for Shakespeare. If you want to write a lot of depth and can keep up with once a week, then that is great but not necessary for the plot.

If you are not an old school player, you can still join. I will help with the character creation.

At the start of the game you will have been in a shipwreck, tossed around at sea and just reached an island. So you start with limited equipment (Limited as in the clothing on your back). Every player is to submit three items they would like to find washed ashore. I will number each one, and do a random draw of one item per player. Don’t worry, you will find stuff along the way.

So ....anyone interested?

You have to ask :)

Count me in as always Roger you have your first player. And wait I already have a completed character.

I'll send him to you today once I raise him to 2nd lvl. His name is Maithias Crowmarhte aka Crow for short a Sylvari Ranger. I was using him in Hammer's game but I dropped out last week as Destiny was starting and I did not want to play 3 games but you running a new 2e game I can not pass up.

You know I have to ask Y not restart CWWLLO?? I so miss Maximus

lunch game

I am attempt this as a simple dungeon romp. No layers upon layers of plot, no great levels of writing. No epic history to the game. Just old school fun.

CWWLLO was one of the best

Adventures I ever played table top or online and though this game sounds cool I still miss it. Consider that a complement on your ability as a DM Roger that I miss CWWLLO so much. So there

Updating Crow now..........

Okay ...

..... so Tann is in with Crow again!

Do not blame him for jumping into this one, as I am also interested in playing!

Gamard the Grim the Khord cleric that was in one of your previous games will need a bit of tweaking, but I would like to revamp him a bit (have to on the Stats) and will give it some thought and submit him later this evening!

Cannot pass up an opportunity to enjoy an adventure with Tann/Crow and Alacrity setting the stage!

I remember G

Welcome Hammer. Love to have you. Tann has expressed some reservation about the starting with little equipment though, so I am not sure if he is in or not.

No Problem

Gamard the Grim will play even if Crow does not show!

Regarding the equipment lacking and washed up on shore with the clothes on the back half-dead scenario: All the More Reason for Gamard to be Grim!

Getting THin..........

I just told Aryn I'd join her new game.....BUT a quickie romp shouldn't over tax me. I'll dust off a 2nd character, do we need a healer?

Healer

Gamard the Grim was originally a Cleric of Solanis of the order of the Knights of Holy Anger (so I can have him be more of a War Cleric than a Healing Cleric, just have to check with Alacrity).

Anyway, if you want to do a Healer and 2 Clerics are ruled out, then I can make Gamard the Grim a Fighter with ties to the Knights of Holy Anger.

Let us see what Alacrity says!

I LOVE 2E!

2E only edition I usually play, ut my group brings in some 1E rules here and there. I am so in.

Are different Kits available? (Fighter - Giant-Hunter, swashbuckler, gladiator, ect)
If not, s'cool, but I am so in if you'll have me.
Will either play a fighter or a thief.

Clerics

I have no problem with two clerics playing as I get one of each main class.

Sal - I don't mind the kits if they make sense in audalis setting.

Sounds Good Alacrity

I have sent my character concept and Gamard the Grim is a Cleric of Solanis of the Knights of Holy Anger!

Not necessarily a Healer!

I'd like to play...

A Cidal (Pick) Mage 1/ Thief 2 if that's okay.

Wemby Whistletrot, your tricky Pick.

okay

Would love to have a Cidal on the question. Do you need me to run over the mana system with you A?

As to the limited equipment. If there is a piece of equipment that is necessary for your character to function, then I will assume you have it. That would be lock picks for a thief. Holy symbol for a cleric, instrument for a bard etc etc (My mages don't have to carry spellbooks but they do need them to learn new spells). As well, I am not taking your clothing away - no one is in their undies. Those with armour clung to a large enough sections of the ship to stay afloat.

However weapons are gone. Food is gone, bedrolls, waterskins, caltrops, lanterns, oil, Playelf collection, etc etc. Now give me three items each you want to find on shore and I will randomly selection for the list for each player.

Items on Shore

I included a choice of 3 Blunted Weapons for Gamard the Grim to find on the beach.
