Damn right it's a post. A lonely post though.
For reference, if the group doesn't have much to do, this situation being a fairly prime example, and you're all doing roughly the same thing, it's not imperative to post to the game unless you feel like it.
If everyone wants to just go to Mal, a simple Q&A post to that effect will allow me to progress the story.
That said, I do love posts.
