Map

Here's the current situation as I see it. Names are by initials, Dax isn't listed because he's on the roof. If you are unsatisfied with your location let me know, I tried to go by what I knew about the characters.

Questions for the GM

How are these folks armed? Any bows or other ranged weapons?
How far away were they when they stopped?
Any that look like they might be spellcasters?
How fast or easy would it be for someone to climb onto the shelter? (Essentially, how safe is Dax?)
Are they still in a spot Dax could use his bow on them?

Questions for the group:
Who is going to be the spokesperson? As much as Daxos would love to open his big mouth, the little guy probably isn't the most intimidating, plus his presence might yet be unknown.
This can't go on long as the rain is going to start soon. We could force them to fight their way into the shelter when it rains, but we don't want to leave the cleric out there in it. Nor does Dax wish to remain out in the rain.
Does anyone recognize the cleric? (I'm guessing if Schnozzle hasn't told you so, you don't.)
I'm not normally inclined to jump to a fight, but in this case we might need to do so. They can't come in armed, obviously. We need to get the cleric. We need it all done quickly.

Questions for the GM

Do the symbols on the map indicate that they are up close to the shelter?
Yes, but if you want you can roll it back a little and try to stop their approach.

Or still back where it says "Feral Men and cleric?"
That was meant to be a key, although I dropped it a long way from the first key.

There seem to be symbols inside and outside the boat, so I'm not quite sure exactly where things are.
* The off-kilter squares along the outside of the boat are the feral men. Each color of those squares represents a certain status, which I will explain in a moment.
* Each letter inside the shelter represents a character with a corresponding initial (Damian gets DD, Dax gets Da when he is back on the ground).
* The light brown lines represent walls that offer line-of-sight cover.
* The light brown squares represent supports (they offer similar cover)
* The stars represent clerics, two inside and one in shackles outside the pavilion.
* The big red circle is the fire pit area.
* Full blue square is where the horse is parked
* Dark brown full square is where the cart (and water) is parked.

How are these folks armed? Any bows or other ranged weapons?
* The red squares are wielding greataxes
* The green ones wield longswords (and have a bow on their back),
* The light blue square wields a dire flail, and has a bow at her back as well. The Changed animal stands closest to her.
* The pink square carries no weapon, but doesn't look intimidated either.

How far away were they when they stopped?
They approached to the very edge of the pavilion.

Any that look like they might be spellcasters?
Yes, the girl who is represented by a pink square on the map seems to be a spellcaster (due to her lack of weaponry)

How fast or easy would it be for someone to climb onto the shelter? (Essentially, how safe is Dax?)
You had very little trouble climbing up the slope.

Are they still in a spot Dax could use his bow on them?
Yes, by standing on the peak of the boat you could rain sharp sticks down on them, at the moment.

OOC: us vs them

there are 6 of us and 6 of them.

they have a caster, we have a caster, or so

we have a sorl, they have . . . a thing.

Threy have a prisoner we want, we have water they want.

Shall we do initiative, because I would not trust them to a truce.

Don't worry about initiative, let me worry about initiative. Make your post, I'll get it in the proper order.

oh

Should we try to intimidate them? Damian's not okay with sharing but perhaps we can scare them away? My char's really low but perhaps I can use the scarred face to terrify them.. that is unless they think he's an idiot for getting caught in the rain.

On the other hand we can always just fight them. Nozzle should I send you my spell list for the day?

in ten shuns

Well, I was wondering, what did the party want to do? As players.
Do we fight and keep the water for the tows folk?
of
do we share and capitulate to this shake down?

Personally, I say fight!

well...

As of now, my character and her wolf have not been introduced but I have an idea that I would like to run past Schnozzle at some point before I post ... Might get the lack of intro on my character's part taken care of. There is a reason for my character's lack of decorum.

Damian's so not down to sharing this water, he wants it for his town

its the water, and a lot more.

The water is intended for the town, not brigands and especially those who punch old folk!!

furthermore, it is about the honor of failure, even if half of the water gets there, to Geoff, that is a failure if it was given to the brigands.

if they came begging

Daxos is completely ok with sharing - with those in need who ask first. But demanding at weapon point while beating old men? Or anybody for that matter - not ok. So, no sharing. At least not until they say "please" and hand over their weapons.

That leaves two options:
1. Strike first and strike hard.
2. Mke demands - surrender your weapons. Wait and see how they respond to Clary.

I'm not very keen on striking without talking, but the answer seems pretty obvious. And the rain is coming.

Daxos is on the roof with bow in hand - and planning on sticking an arrow in the one that looks like a spellcaster.
