What's normal?

Things should settle down by the end of next week. It's kind of just the ore class flurry of activity.

yep

I'd agree, this is a beta shift thing, so it would be appropriate for Odyson's Lt. Reid to respond. Or, if nobody wants to step in via PC capacity, it would be fine for Boo Boo to NPC a couple of the security enlisteds, if you guys are cool with that.

Thanks for the heads up!

Security

Hey no problem Brennus. We have all been there.

I can always post something about security detail if Lt. Reid doesn't show up. I am hoping he will.

Yeah! What Boo Boo said!

If Ody doesn't feel up to it (or is otherwise engaged), I'm willing to snatch up a security NPC and contribute, as well.

Fair warning... I'm feeling kind of hyper again, today... Who knows what might happen?

Enabler!!! LOL

I'm currently going back and forth between working up some tech-specs for "Tochi's Special Project" down in the shuttle bay (figured it was about time to gather all my notes and put them into a single document) and poking around the roster to see which security folk I might wanna snatch up.

Oh... and I'm working, too, so... I got things goin' on, man! And I keep lookin' for more!!!! What's wrong with meeeeeeeee?!?!?!?!?!?!

Tech-Specs: The Aurora Angel

((OOC: Since I went ahead and introduced Tochi's little side project in Megan's last post, I figured I should write up a little outline for the thing. We won't get into what inspired Tochi to design and build the it, just yet... call it a story for another time... At some point, I'll also see what I can do about sketching the thing up or something. I kind of picture it as being vaguely "manta-shaped" (as mentioned in the post and alluded to by the "class" designation) and, although it's unfinished, looks to be a melding of Starfleet and Trill aesthetics (sturdy and durable looking a la SF, but with sleeker, more organic lines a la Trill)... Anyway... here... in case the Engineering types or whoever might be interested and/or wanna work it into a post.))

Technical Specifications - Project ZLR-850FCX419: Manta-Class Runabout
Classification: General Purpose Interstellar Vessel

Accommodation:
  • Minimum 1-2
  • Maximum 8-10

Development Started: 2362

Construction Start Date: 2364

Current Status: Under Construction

Location of Construction: Shuttle Bay 2, Section M-13; U.S.S. Peregrine NCC-79288

Current Vessel Identification and Registration Numbers:
  • Aurora Angel - N/A*

Manta-Class Introduction
  • Mission Objectives The Manta-Class Runabout is being designed with four general mission types in mind.

  • Advance scouting/survey vessel
  • Act as a base of operations (orbital or landed) for Scientific Expeditions or Medical Personnel
  • Transport personnel, intact experiment and/or cargo modules.
  • Perform tactical missions such as intelligence gathering (scouting), covert insertion/extraction of personnel, deter threatening situations.

  • Design Statistics**
    • Length: 24.2 meters
    • Width:34.25 meters
    • Height: 6.2 meters
    • Mass: 238.05 metric tons

    • Hull:Duranium-Tritanium composite
    • Number of Decks: 1

  • General Overview The Manta-Class runabout features a front cabin for four; a pilot, a co-pilot/operations, and two mission specialists. Just aft of the front cabin is a small transporter room; plans are to install a two person transporter in this section. The spaces aft of the transporter room are being designed to support mission specific module. The nature of this modular design will allow the runabout to be quickly convertible to other mission-type specific requirements (i.e. Personnel transport, scientific expeditions, tactical assignments, etc.) There are also mounts for two micro-torpedo/probe launcher modules on the dorsal side of the craft's forward hull. The Manta-Class is highly customizable and, for extended travel, the rear of the craft can be configured as a large cabin with sleeping and dining areas. In most cases, this rear area is generally utilized as a cargo bay.

The Manta-Class features integrated Impulse and Warp reactors, In-wing Imbedded Warp Nacelles, and wing-tip lift engines. The impulse engines are constructed from eight fusion reactors divided into two set, space-time impulse drive coils, and vectored exhaust directors. The engines also include intake vents configurable for atmospheric or interstellar travel. When maintenance is required, the drive assembly can be removed.

The Manta-class computer core, which measures 2.3 X 2.1 X1.3 meters, is located under the cockpit. The core is a standard isolinear unit with 186 isolinear banks and 53 command pre-processors. There are numerous subnodes installed throughout the craft (two of these, linked and installed directly flanking the core, are solely dedicated to interfacing/integrating the manual flight control systems with standard LCARS based FCS. Sub-nodes are connected to the core by standard Optical Data Network (ODN) relays.

  • BASIC TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
    Accommodation Officers and Crew: 8 - 10
    Evacuation Limit: 27

    Dimensions ***

    Overall Length: 24.2 meters
    Overall Draft: 6.2 meters
    Overall Beam: 34.25 meters

    Performance
    Full Impulse: .25c
    Cruise Speed: Warp 4
Maximum Velocity: Warp 5 (for twelve hours)

    Armament
Standard - Type V phaser arrays (6), Microtorpedo launchers (2, optional)

Transport Equipment Standard Personnel Transporter; Capacity: 2

((OOC notes: * - The Aurora Angel doesn't have a registration number as, first, it's not yet spaceworthy and, secondly, it's not an official Starfleet design/production project, just a prototype/personal project.

** - Made this notation as the ship's dimensions (especially the width/beam) shouldn't be interpreted as "set in stone", consider them more "rough estimates based on quick and fuzzy math" (at least until I get a sketch made or computer model put together),

*** - Again, I flagged this entire section because the dimensions aren't exactly ‘fixed' just yet and many of the other components/equipment listed have yet to be installed, Plus, the Performance entries are "estimated based on simulation" not true flight testing.))

I wish I had your energy.

I have a full day at work today, and I didn't arrive early due to traffic. So, I'll try to get some posting time in, but it may be tomorrow before I'm able to do so.

I wish I could give you some!

The last couple of days, my mind has been stuck in overdrive or something. Between working, posting, and time with the family, I should be brain fried but, for whatever reason, I keep latching on to little pieces of this and that, siphoning it into the old brain pan and let it run riot...

*whispers* ...I think it's even following me into sleep. Pretty sure I had a dream about the opening credits for a Star Trek: Peregrine TV show, last night... Wish I could remember it in detail... I do recall Captain Drake looking all Michael Fassbender, though... and CPO Cook looked a bit like Amy Schumer... *shrugs* ... only from the mind of minolta....

    HiHo Sleepy Away........

I was letting Brenn have at the response but I'll wipe out something tonight..... Ummm, I mean I'll write up something tonight.

John's sleep shift is Beta as he is on the bridge gamma. But we are ALWAYS on duty.

Berk should be on the bridge at the TAC and Blackmon at dinner coming off alpha. And we shouldn't toss this to the new guy yet.

I think I already have the security teams setup.

    Sleep shift?

Who in the frill authorized sleep shifts?!?!?

I guess I assumed that Reid's "scheduled duty hours" would have been beta shift as it's typical for the CTO (Berk) to take Alpha... although Reid does have that Alpha shift on the bridge on Fridays, Saturdays, and Beta on Sunday.... (can you tell I just opened the roster?) ...yeah, actually, looking at this, it's showing that Blackmon is doing the TAC/SEC bridge shift, right now.... Okay... I can do something and run with it if you'd prefer.... Whip up a little something with Ens Blackmon fielding the call, at least, dispatching a detail, and passing the info up he chain as appropriate? Up to you, though, buddy-bear!

    Always On Duty...........

I'll get it tonight. Got an idea to bring in the new Ensign and may have Blackmon show up too as security is ALWAYS on duty.

    1555.......

The time stamp has in just into Beta, so it is pretty flexible. With the ambassadors on board it would be all hands on deck. So gotcha cover if you hold on a bit.

Well lunch is over, gotta go.

    No problem...

...I was volunteering "just in case."

I am itching to write something, though, so I may just go see what's going on down in Shuttle Bay 2.
