@Espatier

So it'd be safe to assume that Charlie is gone to class while Casino is meeting with the Yakuza?

Nevermind, I need to read closer. Thanks for the clarification in that last post, Espatier.

@Espatier @CTP @Brom

Espatier, ok I see the problem, up till your last post you were not following Brom's timeline and that's what confused me, my apologies. However by your last post the way you seemed to word it, to me, sounded as if you and Blossom, if we go to get Vegas, were not going. Is that correct?

Also thanks CTP for sorta pointing me in the right direction, if not for commenting about taking a closer look, I would never have seen the timeline errors.

Brom should I wait on an update from you to answer Espatiers reveal, or can I go ahead and post one from Casino?

explanation

@Tann

I posted as Charlie and Casino NOW has the message (info)that he has been worried about. GO get Vegas!, take the rental van and if others want to go with you, then take them along.

If you have read some of the rules in the book you (Casino) will understand why Charlie doesn't want ANYONE using their agent and calling Vegas from his neighborhood, call when you get... downtownish?.

Once Vegas has been picked up, please then feel free to message either blossom or Charlie. One of the two will guide you back but we will attempt to make sure that you are not followed in the van ( which is possible because Brom is evil and wants to hurt us all!... just saying!!)

So No thank you,  Charlie has a full plate right now and I'll leave you to your "bromance" with Vegas, Good luck to you and happy reunion in getting him back so soon, you can always take Vegas with you to your first Yakuza meeting. Once again, wear nice clothing, show up early and enjoy your meeting.

Actually here's my plan

It's 3:20pm at this time which leaves a 3 1/2 hour window to pick him up before I'm to meet with the Yakuza at 7:00pm. As there is no telling what could happen during the pick up, I can't afford to go get him personally without the possibility of something delaying me getting to the Yakuza meet and that just can't happen. As I need to use the apt's stove and a large knife to iron my suit Casino just does not have the time to do it unless Brom changes something with his next post. So I'm sending two teams.

First team will consist of Myself, Blossom and Fixer. Blossom because she's a hacker and comp geek and if the Yakuza give me a cash payout or some kind of contract or net based Giri, she can quickly download it and protect it. Fixer is quite handy with a gun and has the look of a bodyguard so hopefully he will be taken as such. Also seeing as we will need 2 vehicles, I’m hoping Charlie will allow us to use the team truck now that it runs. If for some reason it breaks down Fixer will be there fix it. As for fancy clothing, I’m not sure if they both have any, but again I’m hoping Charlie’s skill as a fixer can get some for them.

Second team to pick-up Vegas will consist of Ghlahn, Echo and Bloodbank. Ghlahn and Echo because they are the parties fighters and should be able to handle the pick-up if its a trap. Bloodbank of course to back them up if healing is needed or if Vegas needs on the spot healing. They will take the van which is more roomy. Once a good distance from Charlie's apt they will call Vegas on his agent and hopefully gain his location.

If they are able to pick him up with no problems the group will pick a place to meet away from Charlie’s Chinese barrow after Casino’s meet with the Yakuza so he can make sure its really him. If it is really him at this point Blossom will contact Charlie using, I would assume an anti-tracker program, and the team will return to the apt or hold up at another location until Charlie feels it is safe for us to return.

Now if not for the Yakuza meeting its a goddamn sure bet Casino would be part of the pick-up. However as much emotionally Casino is involved in this, if you look at both of their life path's you’ll see Vegas and Casino have been friends since their teens and that is the reason for my RP to this point. However the big Solo is still a pro and knows how important this meet is for not just himself, but for the future of the whole group, and he trust’s Ghlahn, Echo, and Bloodbank to get him back.

This also allows each team to have 2 player characters and 2 NPC's with-in it so that everyone is involved in the RP

Any Q/A questions or upgrades to my plan? If nothing changes the above, I will include my plan in my next post.

There is no way the Yakuza meet-up or the message from Vegas aren't traps. Your plan is good, Tann, but splitting the party seems very risky.

Vegas didn't give a timeframe on when he needs a pick up nor even his location from what I read, so how are we to go get him? I say meeting with the Yakuza should be the higher priority since it's already arranged and backing out would be a huge blow to the group's reptuation. Blossom would be better suited on working out more intel on Vegas' location in a safe location than being a chipreader in what is most definitely going to end in a shootout.

Was thinking along the same lines.  Vegas pickup seems way too easy.

I'm going to post and move things along. I'll take the comments made in Q&A as well as in the posts and meld it all together into a chowder that is hopefully digestible. We've had quite the delay in me advancing the storyline due to working on getting some new characters ready to join the group and I believe it is time to git this doggy on its walk again. That being said, if any of you have a problem with what happens in my post, feel free to let me know. We can discuss alternatives.

As promised I explained to the team that I will allow them to free roam, but it looks like we got our selves a scooby doo mystery on our hands. So since Tann's plan has nothing to do with combat, I'll ask him to hold off on those suggestions.

This is what I would like to see happen team mates.

  1. everyone come for a ride in the "G wagon" till we can link up with casino after his meeting and I could use the team mates support if they are willing.
  2. I'm going to pick up new team mates
  3. No one is staying at the apartment other than NPC
  4. open to suggestions of things that character's might need to start working on in their life sheets, *Hint!
  5. I'm going to suggest that people MIGHT want to read up on "corporates", we have 4 different books to look at, *hint!

Charlie is going to take his G wagon (Shiltron) out for a spin. I'm going to suggest that if you don't have things now... get them. If it's not on your sheet... you don't have it. The last firefight has anyone other than me, used a gun cleaning kit?. People need to buy "agents" ( Phones) so that we all can talk to each other, everyone got 2k, right?. If you want to "stretch out your credits", then I can help buy things for you at a discount ( it will be roleplayed thou )

Alternatively, if you're like me and find the books hard to follow at times, I found this YouTube playlist that gives a really good overview of the Cyberpunk lore, including corporations. It is meant to bring people up-to-date on Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming video game, and therefore might go further in the timeline than Flesh & Blood is set in, but I found it helpful so maybe others would like a listen?

Sweet find!

I'm also available to answer any questions. Please also remember that though I stick fairly close to the books, I also have my own homegrown elements especially where merging mainstream CyberPunk and the less appreciated CyberPunk V3.0. There's a lot in 3.0 that I don't implement as canon. I also add my own corporations, bands, organizations, gangs, public figures, etc.

Having stated this, it does help if you've the time to watch the video and read the books (at least skim them).

And yes, now's the time to make your purchases; I highly encourage you to flesh out the characters where you're missing things or want to upgrade, and I strongly encourage you to take advantage of Charlie's skill to save you a few bucks and find items/services. It may not work all the time (die are fickle creatures) but it is always worth a shot.

Oh, and Espatier, remember that the Spinelli only fits three passengers and the driver. The rented van, however, is another story.
