That makes sense to me.  I can't recall if Ltjg rates a private cabin yet or not.

"Ensigns share a suite. Accommodations include 2 bedrooms with standard beds, connected by a living/work area. A washroom with ultrasonic shower is located off of each bedroom. Two computer displays and a personal viewscreen are located in the living area. Pets are allowed.

Starfleet personnel from the rank of Lieutenant JG to Commander are given one set of quarters to themselves (they do not need to share)... Single officer accommodations typically include a small bathroom with an ultrasonic shower, a bedroom (with standard bed), a living/work area, a computer display, a personal viewscreen, and provisions for pets."

Now, while officers above the rank of Ens do not need to share, the write up goes on to say that officers may request that their quarters be joined in order to provide a larger living area... I guess, in the end, it's up to the Ops Chief or Command staff.

Gotcha.  I had forgotten the lines for that.

We are a small ship...

...and, typically, assigned more military-type missions. I could see where the two junior officers per suite could extend up to Lt(JG). *shrugs*

Anyhoo... like everything else, this morning, I'm just obsessing about what probably amount to inconsequentials... Ancestors curse my overactive mindhole!!!

Someone might want to share a room with my Vulcan NPC? He's a VSA student getting some field experience in the Medical department as a technician with medic training.  Though maybe he'll replace someone else? Idk. Also bringing in a few NPCs besides him and Forb the Bolian - Mack Davies, an Inuit man who's formerly from the Marine Corps. And a Caitian woman who's an even bigger computer nerd than Kara.

Wubbity wubbity...

I am with you in spirit; alas, this is the last day of a four-day stretch of twelve-hour shifts and my brain is angry-fried and wandering the wastes. When I get home tonight, I am going comatose for a while, relaxing a bit tomorrow, then getting a post together for Thorson, maybe a collab or back-n-forth over my two days off. Working Wednesday and Thursday, then off Friday through Sunday, so I should get some good posting in.

Meanwhile, Thorson got his medical release and orders to report to the Peregrine tomorrow. Thank you, Odin! He's spending his last day aboard the Starbase in happy contemplation of getting back out there with Commander Drake, Tochi, and companions old and new. He's kept up with the news, so he knows they've had a rough week. It'll be good to be back with them aboard the Peregrine. It'll be good to be home.

Re: Ensign's Quarters

Alternatively (assuming gender of the occupants doesn't really matter as they each have their own bedroom and share a living space) they could be assigned like so: Ens Blackmon/Ens Forb (both TAC/SEC); Ens Jenneric/Ens Maize (different depts but already familiar with one another); Ens Garner (flys solo since he's newest on board... but, since Vaela's promotion technically hasn't been addressed, just yet, it could be that she and Garner will be sharing quarters temporarily since they're both Flight Control Officers).

Make sense? Any objections? Does it really matter?

I think it would make sense to be Vaela's roommate.  I don't think gender matters much to Starfleet.

Duly noted

Until such a time as Vaela's promotion is addressed and/if she's assigned new, single accommodations, Vaela and Garner are roomies.

Yep.  It makes perfect sense... and no, I don't think that gender much matters to starfeet.

station schedules

Hey all,

I have hijacked another post on the first page of the thread to show the schedules per main station.  In other words, if you want to know who is on the bridge on a Wednesday beta shift, or who is in charge of Engineering on Monday gamma, you can check here.

If you see any errors or duplicates, please let me know.  Department heads, if you want to edit, please let me know.

Just checked the schedule for Flight Control...

...and it looks like Bradley and Megan are "off," today!

Next post could get a little crazy for Garner... especially since I haven't really written for her in a while... it might be like letting a beast out of the cage!

Holy activity, Batman! I get locked up busy for a weekend and am behind almost a month in posting!

OK, so let's see if I can post my own suggestions in a value-added way.

Ops: On some ships, the captain requires command officers to eat together. I don't think that's the case on the Peregrine but when the captain does call for an "officer's dinner" then Ops would be in charge of prepping the food and I could see that meal not coming from a replicator.

Additionally, clothing, linens, blankets, etc is all replicated but it is my understanding that the replicators don't produce something from nothing. Much like today's 3D printers, they need a base material to work with and those stores are something that Ops personnel oversee. Each individual onboard has a replicator ration that they're alotted and Ops helps manage that.

If any department needs something, they submit the equivalent of a Purchase Order to Ops. Engineering may have a need to replicate something outside of the ship replicator specs... Ops requisitions it for them through the nearest starbase. Science needs a particular chemical... Ops requisitions it. I believe that some starships have industrial replicators on board, but these still use source material and are regulated.

Quartering concerns, station upgrade coordination, department coordination of personnel, working with security to accommodate away team equipment needs, take care of shore leave situations, etc. are all part of the parcel. There are a lot of responsibilities that fall to Operations.

Quarters for Ensigns: I liked the first concept best, Eol. Maize has been on board the longest and it doesn't make much sense for her to have shared quarters but a noob receives a solitary bunk.

How does one delete characters from Trek Tools?

Brom is right.  Replicators work from stored matter, which is resupplied at starbases.

Re: Trek Tools - edit the character, and change the department to "unassigned" - it warns that this removes the character from the roster.
