RE: Upset Kitty: I am alright with any direction you're leaning. Whether Kith is awake or not when/if Ch'dau lashes out, she'll leap in the way of his rampage and try to calm him down before roaring too many times or breaking too many things--either way though I have a feeling she's going to be promising some gold for damages . . . all the more reason to take down an evil witch slitch!

On the bright side, they look bad enough for her to claim they were exhausted from saving SO many people the previous night.

RE: Backstory: I started one for Kith. Yay!

Whoo backstory

Now that is a chance encounter... quite mysterious. And clearly she's had sticky fingers for a very long time

With regards to Ch'dau... I feel it makes a lot of sense for him to more or less pass out once the danger has passed and he's no longer being moved. He might say something before doing so, but it might very well be a half thought out ramble with the adrenaline leaving his system. It also makes sense for him to lash out on waking. He may actually fear the events of the previous day were but a dream and that he is still captive even.

No matter how it happens, Aranwen will do her best to catch Ch'dau's claws when he starts upright and swings out, taking the hit as she needs to, while speaking in a calm but firm tone. In this regard, she actually does have a lot of experience about grounding someone after a 'bad trips' so to speak, which is an odd coincidence how it works out.

"You are not there! You are here. Easy! There's no enemies here. You are okay. You are here, you are safe. Rest, relax. Your wounds need to heal. You are here, not there. Hear my voice, feel the ground beneath your feet, hear the sounds of the city outside. We are not there any more."

It'd be things like this she'd keep trying to tell Ch'dau until he recovered, though I'd be surprised if she survived such an awakening unscathed, especially without Little Kitten intervention

HEY

*accidentally cuts self 5 times while awkwardly whipping out new daggers* LITTLE WHAT?!?!

Also, Kith sleeps with a spray bottle at her side at all times, so this should be over pretty quickly.

LOL

Spray bottles and the threat of mutilation... check!

Loved the introduction to young Kithran, by the by. Super neat little backstory! Bravo!

Got a post in the works, now... don't worry too much about getting damaged, Rer... he'll be snarling and the claws will likely come out but I doubt he'll wake up fully raging.

To be honest

I was half expecting Aranwen to have to defend herself against two morning attacks - Ch'dau of course, as we discussed, but also Kithran for waking up to a Syl woman

Lol

Ahaha, yeah, she'll be conflicted for sure. She's not a fan of the Syl, but she also already has a budding respect for what a bad ass fighter she is, plus Ara got them out of the s***. Kith is pretty utilitarian at her core though--who she gets to help her complete her tasks is not as important as just getting them to help her. Especially if they're a bad ass.

Also...

...I took a few minor liberties with dialogue in that last post. If either of you feel the words/actions don't necessarily match up to your characters, just let me know and I'll happily edit.

Aaaaand, GOOD MORNING!

THE CATMAN RISES

Good moooooorning!

No worries, it was a very light day all around because of those hacks AND the dishes weren't done when I got to work so I had no means of tea or coffee consumption. So it may have been for the best.

Instead of "Whoa there, cat-beast, take it down a notch, huh?", Kith might say something (similar but) more like, "Whoa there, cat-beast, easy, it's me. Kith good, remember?"

Yaaaawn, those dishes better be done.

Boo for no coffee!

Duly noted on the dialogue change. I'll go fix that now.

*waves magic spatula of dialogue changing* POOF! It's done!

Little Kitten Reference

Thought I might share some pictures of the tubby little barn rat who has influenced Kith's persistance, the sweet, fluffy little terror, Lettie (after the girl in Ocean at the End of the Lane, by Neil Gaiman--one of my favorites from him). This kibibi is fearless, hopping to and from things she has no right to, but doing it for the nibbles, or to be close to someone. She gets bad FOMO.

The first pic is the little tubbo getting into the dog food
The second is her sopping wet after the 321654684th time getting sprayed for getting into the dog food. And still, she persisted. She wore me out that day, even though it hardly phased her.
The third is the sweet, precious, baby angel, light of my life being just that. She looooves the cuddles, and I love her.

Enjoy!

Heads up

I'm planning on having Kith wake up a little bit before cat-hulk, so she can have a little tiny chat with Ara before the kitty litter hits the fan. I might reach out to you Reralae, for some responses and feedback.

But work, ya know, so if you get your post up first Reralae, Kith will just be understandably groggy, and a bit little leary at waking to a Syl tending to her wounds--likely thanking her for her help but trying to take over for herself.

She'd be up for a little bit of a convo too, whether about what happened and where she wants to go from there, what Ara's intentions are. She'll be brief with her, but also kinda hoping she can get a bladesinger to help her  Not sure how far they'll get before Ch'dau rages, but that's the gist of Kith's intentions for the moment.

Mmmmmmhhhhmmmm!

As far as Ch'dau waking up, I leave it to the two of you to determine when that happens as it relates to your coming posts and plans.

"You do not like being touched?"

Feel free to fire dialogue my way  it does make sense for Kithran to have woken up sooner, especially if she's still subconsciously on alert

I've work as well so don't worry about me getting a post in quite yet before you do

I rather like the touch of how Aranwen's most distinctive feature through Ch'dau's hazy recollections is her eyes. The broken dialogue also really captures just how foggy everything was for him. That half dream like state where it's unclear what is and isn't real...

Also: cute kitty!

;)

Yeah... I figured that, aside from her bladesong, that would have been the feature that stood out most for him at that moment. Her voice, too, with it's "softly authoritative" timbre would have been something he latched on to but, again, with the haziness of it all, the eyes stood out most.

Anyhoo, as you both have offered, feel free to PM me for any input/dialogue/etc from Ch'dau should you need it for your posts. As always, looking forward to the next round.
