That is intense! And perfect for that --almost-- death scene.

That whole soundtrack is pretty spectacular - especially in regards to it's subtle dominance. I noticed it the first time I watched the movie, actually... the music is understated AF as compared to the goings on in the film yet it still manages to stand out. And I don't say that ONLY because Denzel is probably one of my favorite actors of all time.

Found one...

If she can manage to pull herself together in spite of everything... I found another song for Aranwen

It also has a few lines fitting for Kithran... you'll know them when you hear them.

Hmmm...

...so, this song just came across my speakers and, while I've heard it before, I never really gave it much thought or "applied it to" any stories I've written (and I do that quite a bit). Just now, though, I actually "heard" the lyrics and went... "Wow! Okay! I can see this applying as ol' Fuzz Face bleeds out and, then, through some miracle, is brought back..."

Will you hold the line?
When every one of them is giving up or giving in, tell me
In this house of mine?
Nothing ever comes without a consequence or cost, tell me
Will the stars align?
Will heaven step in? Will it save us from our sin? Will it?
'Cause this house of mine stands strong

That's the price you pay
Leave behind your heartache, cast away
Just another product of today
Rather be the hunter than the prey
And you're standing on the edge, face up 'cause you're a

Natural
A beating heart of stone
You gotta be so cold
To make it in this world
Yeah, you're a natural
Living your life cutthroat
You gotta be so cold
Yeah, you're a natural

Will somebody
Let me see the light within the dark trees' shadows and
What's happenin'?
Lookin' through the glass find the wrong within the past knowin'
We are the youth
Cut until it bleeds, inside a world without the peace facing
A bit of the truth, the truth

That's the price you pay
Leave behind your heartache, cast away
Just another product of today
Rather be the hunter than the prey
And you're standing on the edge, face up 'cause you're a

Natural
A beating heart of stone
You gotta be so cold
To make it in this world
Yeah, you're a natural
Living your life cutthroat
You gotta be so cold
Yeah, you're a natural

Deep inside me, I'm fading to black, I'm fading
Took an oath by the blood of my hand, won't break it
I can taste it, the end is upon us, I swear
Gonna make it
I'm gonna make it

Natural
A beating heart of stone
You gotta be so cold
To make it in this world
Yeah, you're a natural
Living your life cutthroat
You gotta be so cold
Yeah, you're a natural

Natural
Yeah, you're a natural

Simul-posting, FTW!!!

Bree - Hell yeah! If I swung that way, I'd totally have the "mmmm-MMMMs" for Denzel! (I can appreciate a good looking dude, of course, but I've never been attracted... I like girls! It's the bewbs... and the booties... and that curve where the neck meets the shoulder... or just behind the ear... Imma stahp!   ))

Rae - I  that song!!!!

*light bulb!!!*

Ooooooh my!

I just had a crazy thought as to how we might continue the adventures of KC&K without writing HC off as a figment of collective imaginations... and, of course, this is going on the assumption that we all survive, exactly how HC ends, AND with the caveat that thesse are just initial thoughts and I have absolutely NO idea where it might go after.

Anyway, let's imagine things play out as follows:

  1. Davena ends up dead or worse... (sorry about your GF, Little Kitten, but it had to be done).
  2. Kith doesn't believe that Ch'dau and Ara are "real," just yet, but, somewhere in the back of her mind really wants to.
  3. A fight ensues. Kith loses (I mean, c'mon, a trained Singer and an unhinged cat-beast vs a salvaged sword? Please!).
  4. Broken, both by betrayal and "failure," Ch'dau and Ara take their leave of the party and, as I've joked about more than once, "retire" to some obscure region and do what they can to nurse their "daughter" back to health.
    1. Perhaps Ch'dau becomes a blacksmith or, better yet, a hunting guide... Aranwen teaches Sylvari history (and, on the side, in special cases, bladework)
    2. Slowly but surely, Kith "comes around" (though, PTSD, obvi) and things progress.

As you might have guessed from the "things progressed" entry, that's as far as complex thought was willing to go at the time. I dunno about you ladies, but I think that's a decent "framework" to start with should either of you like to continue after the events of HC.

I had a similar thought

I would joke about retirement to Cal'ele'miur as the obscure place in question, but that is a very questionable fae-te at best

I had a very similar idea for a journey of recovery, so to speak, with our characters. This, of course, assumes certain ways in how HC ends, but to be honest I don't mind making a split timeline so we do get to see that journey of recovery, altering whatever key happenings in the actual HC ending so that it's plausible.

Ugh I wrote a whole thing and then my phone was dumb and no the page reloaded and it's all GONE

The gist:

Eol: good lawd with your Denzel and bewbs rant.

That song is SO good for Ch'dau and his --almost-- death experience.

I'd need to do a bit more light light reading, but id be down to rp some trauma and recovery hahaaaa I do like sad stories obviously, but I like a redemption story even better--hence why I'm hoping so much for Ara to push through. But I'm also alright with booping over all th HC stuff also continuing on our merry way. It looks like we have also while to figure it out either way.

Oh, also don't kill my gf please. She so smart, and powerful, and beautiful, and we're very happy together. Thanks.

Rer--that song is so good for an Aranwen able to push herself forward, and yes, I did catch some lines for Kithran in there ;_; coming for me, blade mum?

And those last lines? PERFECT for her:

I will reach into the darkness of my heart

And I will try to find the strength to carry on

Cause I've made it this far

LOL

Sorry for the bewbs rant. Like I said... wee bit "happy" as my mom calls it.

Also, dig this....

"There was an old kazari blacksmith that tended the village. Rumors said that, once, he was a warrior; fought to save the world, even, but few truly believed that. Even in this day, Kazari weren’t common on Antaron and of those that did appear, here and there, few of them lived long enough (or disappeared) before making their mark on history. This Kazari, too, had a Syl wife – a sad thing; shattered and broken by oaths she’d sworn despite knowing that she could never uphold them in a world such as this – whom few ever saw, and a half-syl daughter who had yet to be glimpsed by anyone. They lived at the fringe of the town, never bothering anyone lest they were bothered first and, even then, gentle and accepting in their reproaches. Happy to talk business but always shrugging off or diverting queries in regard to their rumored past conflicts with D’hurgan and his followers.

At night, after the town market had closed, fires would burn at the cabin of the smith and his wife and, at times, the voice of their daughter could be heard screeching protests, even over the occasional storms that rumbled through the region. It was a regular occurrence for the first few months that Samuel and his ‘family’ had occupied the hut at the village-edge, but, after a time, the outbursts became quieter… or, at least, less frequent and, not long after, ceased altogether. Had Samuel, Ara, or Kith showed up in town every now and again, outside of their stall being in the market without fail, the folk of the town, now, might not had known they even existed…"

See?

I think we could make that work!

Might not be exactly acrion-packed, at first, but it's a start.

Lost it at Power Drill

Aaaaawwww! That was really sweet.

Kith's very first truly lucid sentence: "you thought to bring me back from unimaginable trauma by surrounding me with Sylvari?"

Not...

....b-but... you're dead!

???

Geez!

Seriously, though - I could totally see that! Not entirely sure that Ara would want to return to the Three Kingdoms, though... Mayhaps we end up on the Chindari Plains or the Chakaran Mountains?

What sayeth Blade-Mum?
