Oooooo

I was wondering if we'd ever interact with Saina's mum! Even mwar to look forward to! Though . . . that's probably going to be expensiiiive. Kith was just planning to swipey swipe, but getting the gowns tailored and fitted is probably a good idea. Hmmmmm, will have to figure out how to cross that bridge when we get to it. Saina will be alright if we knock her mom out just a little bit, right? jk jk jk......

P.S. Just saw what you said about those offered to Morgana having been spared from a worse fate. Yeah, it's so messed up but it's true.

P.S.S. Lady Marcella Rueckner is throwing a very fancy party for the incredibly exclusive (and anonymous, bring a mask ) black market auction she will be hosting at her manor. See you there!

A masquerade?

*insert link to the masquerade song in Phantom of the Opera*

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade
Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you
Masquerade! Every face a different shade
Masquerade! Look around - there's Her mask behind you
Masquerade! Grinning yellows, spinning reds
Masquerade! Take your fill - let the spectacle astound you
Masquerade! Burning glances, turning heads
Masquerade! Stop and stare at the sea of smiles around you
Masquerade! Seething shadows breathing lies
Masquerade! You can fool any friend who ever knew you
Masquerade! Leering satyrs, peering eyes
Masquerade! Run and hide - but Her face will still pursue you...

I might have modified the lyrics a biiiit....

Paper faces on parade!

Haha, not quite PotO, as there won't be any coordinated ballroom dancing, unfortunately. Just a bunch of scuzz buckets in some neat masks.

I have been wondering what to do about the Kazari. Should he sneak in? Should we pretend we're auctioning him off? Should he be a bodyguard we brought along to show off how cool we are? Should we even act like we know each other? Whew, another bridge to worry about once we get there!

Kith still needs that forged invite, but she needs that tome first as her payment . . . TO THE SLITCHES!

P.S. OMG THOSE LYRICS ahahaha aaaahhhhh that Morgana

P.S.S. Funny enough, Kith DID need a mask as well, when Aranwen asked lol

Welllll

Now I've got the movie in my head and just replace the Phantom with Morgana in that scene and aaaaaaaaa

Why so silent, dear attendees? Did you think that I had left you for good? She looks directly at Kithran and Aranwen, Have you missed me?

In any case, I can just imagine that, if she's present there, people just overall avoiding her and giving her a wide berth... and then Kithran and Aranwen like '... why did we think this was a good idea?! She doesn't recognize us does she!?'

Ch'dau bodyguard seems like the best setup to go with there, or skulking about on the roof ready to dive in when Ara and Kith get in trouble...

SING FOR MEEEEE

That movie began like a 10 year crush I had on Gerard Butler *queue angsty Livejournal blog flashbacks*

Oooooh boy, Morgana showing up would put a little bit of a damper on Kith's plans. Isn't that just how it goes? *snaps* Kith's plans generally fall apart fairly quickly though so that would just be par for the course

Looking forward to Ch'bodyguard maybe get him a bowtie.

"or skulking about on the roof ready to dive in when Ara and Kith get in trouble..." Excuse me, "when"?! Tch, psh, shwi, they'll be fiiiiine. It's a simple sneak-up-and-attack-the-matron mission. In and out. Bing bang boom. What could possibly go wrong?

Speaking of Morgana, here's a reference

I fiddled around with a picture I found just googling masks and this is about what I imagine whenever I say 'Morgana's Mask', except not always with a red jewel in the forehead

Hmm, what's up at the Inn?

Ah, yes, this will surely haunt my dreams as it is the last thing I will see before sleeping time tonight. Thank you.

That's appropriately creepy/cool! I always imagined it really shiny too, but I'm not sure where that idea came from. Either way, a terrifying thing to see coming after you for sure!

Shininess

I also imagine it kind of shiny, but I started with a white mask in the picture and am not fully adept at implementing shiny-ness into the picture. Kind of like an obsidian or onyx shiny though is what I imagine

Mmhmm

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too!

If I have nightmares tonight, I know who to blame

You wouldn't be the first one

I seem to have an affinity towards developing horror-themes, and I suspect I have done the same to others at other occasions for different systems/stories/concepts

Actuallyyyy

No creepy mask dreams *yet* but I did dream I was an assassin *pew pew pew* I have to give that to my sliiight obsession with Killing Eve at the moment though.

Speaking of which, if Villanelle was not an actual psychopath with an inability to feel anything, she'd be so Kithy and I love her for it--funny, snarky, sticky-fingered narcissist who's real good with a knife?

Keep trying to search for an image reference

Unfortunately searching for spiderweb patterned dress of course brings up Halloween themed clothing where the web is obnoxiously obvious; the pattern on the dress here is much more subtle and elegant, in my mind...

The problem with searching for references that don't exist and I don't have space/material/time to sew one up and take a picture of

Ah!

Yiiiiiikes, close call!

I keep getting the image of Salem from RWBY in my head when you describe Lily. Not exactly the same, but:

I don't know if you've watched any Demon Slayer yet, but there's a "spider-themed" family of demons who's design (kind of) and abilities reminded me of Morgana's pupperteering and such.

I can't help but think Kith would have really liked Sae, too. She would have been a dick to her at first, and probably would have made fun of her just a little bit--but after being put in her place and seeing what Sae was capable of, and her sincerity as just a truly good person, she would have big-sistered her too, despite her having an acutal century on Kith

Just imagine

Saeriel and Aranwen, visiting with and helping out Tara and Kithran

Saeriel and Tara resonating with each other to the degree where Sae could have helped Tara and offer emotional support and healing...

But that didn't happen

I do have to say that Saina's mother looks decidedly less overtly creepy than the RWBY character Much more normal looking, even if she has very expensive taste in clothes

Surprise gut punch

Oof, yeah that would have been wonderful, especially in Tara's youth, but no, they didn't get the chance.

I just thought of Saeriel meeting Tara as an adult and making Ara babysit a kid Kith while they were talking. Kith would have learned to hide so well, trying to pull one over on Aranwen

But nope, didn't happen. Kith and Ara will just have to figure out how to help heal each other without those two. However, they do have an emotional support cat-man, so that's nice.
