love, battle, and lighthouses

Curious, here - is anyone planning to do any further asking of questions here in town, shop for provisions, write poetry, or drink excessively?

Looks like three of the party are cool for lighthouse patrol (hinting for a post, Briana), so if no one has anything else in mind, my next post will bump the group onward in the quest for light! Or glory! Or easy money!

Move it out

I"ll try to manage a post this weekend, but other than pickign up a few days rations in town, I suggest we see about a boat to ferry us to the lighthouse and be gone...no need to "play through" the shopping part

the sla'kar

Not sure if any of you would have reason to know this or not, but those who do know a bit about sla'karn physiology would recognize this individual as female, since it lacks the brightly-colored crest usually associated with males.

no such thing as elves!

Guys, please check your character sheets - there is no such thing as an "elf" in our game!

Yes, yes - sylvari are our elves. That being said, syls ALWAYS refer to themselves as sylvari. outsiders call them syls for short, perhaps.

Also please note that our half syl was raised among humans. I don't have every sheet right at my fingertips, but I'd wager he doesn't speak sylvari as well as the rest. Be careful of assumptions.

Forgive me for being such an anal DM, but by golly, if I don't have a "common" language, and I don't use generic "gold coins" for currency (don't you love exchange rates?), at least humor me by using the correct names of the races in my world!

Brianna not equal to Dragon Mistress, or maybe yes?

I thought I was in error in thinking you were the same person, but if you are going to post under each other's user ID's, this poor player is never going to be able to keep you straight.

I'm old, and pregnant, and sleep-deprived...

And Olan, catching my character on the exchange rate was bang on, and well deserved! I worked it into her character that she realizes her error but of course, blames the humans for their divisive ways, lol. Next time, I change my money!

Languages

Well.. checked my Half-Sylvaris Csheet and realized that I didnt have my languages on there... oops.

On that note I would think that he could perhaps know some common words and phrases but I agree that he wouldnt be able to speak or understand it as well as a full Sylvari. Maybe he is learning?

For now I will assume in my post that he understands some Sylvari, but not all.

My original C sheet had half-elf on it, that was before I knew that you called them Sylvari in this world, sorry!

(Edit addition):

Here is a thought! What if instead of learning his languages he kind of knows a little bit of various languages of many different races. Nothing to carry on a conversation, but standard greetings, common phrases and sayings? Stuff like that!

What do you say DM?

I can...

...I can live with that (smattering of greetings). That's about the extent of my own foreign language knowledge.

what'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Brianna, you are playing a mage, not a warrior. You don't own a bow. Were we around a table right now, you could consider my DM's yellow grudge card played.

Stick to the equipment on your character sheet, do not attempt to manufacture a bow and arrows out of nothing (unless you have the appropriate spell, har har).

In other words, edit your post.

The rest of you, please ignore Val's attempts to shoot as only occuring in the character's mind until such editing occurs.

Warrior or mage?

Me thinks Brianna plays alot of warriors and is getting all the Cs she plays mixed up.

Posted already..

Being a healer... normally I would have waited till the warriors acted before posting.. but I saw my chance and took it.

Varuna hates bloodshed and will do whatever he can to avoid it if possible.

If his spell works you warriors will still have one to fight over who gets to kill him.

poor doggy

Dog is still alive and awake, but his eyes are quickly going glassy. He's whimpering softly, but seems unable to move - the bolt is deep in his chest.
