After thinking about it..

Why not have everyone meet at the Green Gryphon First. There, Bart can procue your rooms, order breakfast and everyone can relax, while he has the local Magic Shop identify what items he can.

That way, I can just leave you all a post here in the q/a following this one of what items are brought to the groups attention, and everyone can decide on what they want to try and own, keep, or are ok with selling. If we can get a majority vote on certain Items, I can convert them to possible extra funds for you all before your personal shopping errands.

Saavy?

Magic Items Identified:

Bart’s Identified Magic Items:

Bart has Managed to successfully Identify the following Magic Items:

The Mirrored Gem Encrusted Shield:
+1 Large Steel Shield of Nova: Grants Electricity resistance 5 to the wielder, and each time it is struck by an attack (Attack roll that misses wielder’s AC by 5 or less) or a spell that would deal area damage to the wielder one of the quartzes is charged for every 5 (five) points of damage the wielder receives. Once all 8 (eight) crystals are charged, the stored energy is discharged in a 20’ radius around the wielder for 5d6+5 points of electricity damage. A Command Word Spoken by the wielder at the time of discharge increases the Electricity resistance applied to herself and only herself to 20 for the purpose of this discharged energy only. The Command word is “Grounded”
Estimated Market Value: 18,000 gp

The Gem encrusted Short Spear:
Stigmatic Spear:
This +2 Short Spear thirsts for the strength of its wielder, and bares a minor necromantic aura around it. Upon a successful strike, the Spear drains 1d10 hit points from the wielder, and converts it into additional damage upon the target. On a critical hit, the extra d10 drained is also multiplied by 3 to a max of 3d10 additional damage:
Estimated Market Value: 24,750gp

Bart tried to have the Holy Symbol of Bane Identified, but was approached by an undercover Templar of the holy inquisition, rather than put up a fight he simply handed over the item, explained how he came to own the accursed thing, and was actually rewarded with 10gp for ridding the world of a terrible item.

So instead he had the Bone wand Identified, And it was discovered to be a Once only Rune Wand of Lightning Bolt, CL 7 (7d6) The benefits of Rune wands are that anyone not just spellcasters can utilize these simple creations, simply by knowing the command word often included upon the item itself. The Command Word for this wand is :”Dol’ amus’ Crackilus’ “ Estimated Value: 1050gp

Elesia has graciously offered to pay for the LARGE Ogre Axe to be identified, which comes back known as a +1 Large Greataxe. Seeing as Noone in the Group could even hope to wield the thing (minimum Strength requirement of 20 to even pick it up two handed for a Medium sized Creature)Elesia saw fit to Sell it, and return to the Green Gryphon and Split the earnings amongst the others.

Aelistae won't be bidding on any of the items. The shield and spear aren't useful to her and she just got the ring of course.

If no one wants them I suppose we could sell them, but I'd rather they be used since they are funky items.

Other than that we do have lots of mundane items that we've gathered as loot that I'd suppose we should sell as well.

Well,

DarkAutumn (Artanis) has showed interest in the Shield, at the others (mainly yours ginafae's information reguarding the useful ness of the item)
(She also knows that she has no hope in paying for the entire thing right now to be her's but I'm betting she'll bid something at least to keep it providing everyone's not adamant about selling it.

What I'd like from everyone if possible is a List of items (mundane or Magical) They'd like to keep WITH the group. Item's not on the list of everyone will be sold and proceeds split, while those items thought important enough to keep will be kept until a later date.

I really think that the potions and the wand should be all kept. Also I will post later on today as right now it would take me longer than I have to get one out. Also I have a wand, a disc, and some potions that need identifying, so if anyone would like to help me with that, that would be great.

Well I suppose the question is whether Xaris wants to hand over those items as party loot or keep them himself. If it's the former than the cost to identify it all can come from party funds. Otherwise probably not.

Did you think about the spear at all for Xaris? It is a pretty nifty weapon for barbarians.

Think again...

No, not gonna bid anything on that shield. I can't afford it and you know it.

I'll just find and buy a regular ol' shield when I get the chance.

Don't get me wrong, I DO want the shield. But I can't afford it and I'm not into being in debt, in game or otherwise.

Sure?

Are you sure? No one is asking that you pay off the whole amount immediately, or that all the gold you earn in future must go into paying this debt.

Well...

....I dunno..that is a heck of a lot of money... Maybe I could .. like if half of all my share of future monies goes towards paying off the shield or something...'course I'll be paying on it forever, and probably still won't have it paid off before this game is over....I really do want the shield, and now that I know how to use it without getting myself KILLED, I really want it more than before.

Loriel

I, the player, am thoowing this out for thoughts please think about it. I am a team player but in all truth Loriel was the only one who took the risks and went into that room with the statues to take the shield and spear. They were not a part of the groups actions only hers. Now I don't know how some of you feel about this but I am just bringing it up. That she shared what she took with others is her way, but it doesn't negate the fact that it was she alone that took them and no one helped or went in there with her.

Now Loriel would agree to sell the spear as none of us could afford losing points like that and especially not on a critical it would kill most of us. Then we can divide the spear proceeds. However she thinks the shield is way too valuable to the group to sell and we would not likely get it full value in this place. She feels she has the right to keep the shield and let Artanis have it to use. She is of a mind that this small group is going to need all the extras they can find to help them later on. That she hasn't found anything so far that will really aid her is just the way it is. She hopes a bow is found or arrows that are magical that she can use.

Loriel, in game play, agrees to sell the extra armor and stuff after Artanis has her pick of things, to help Artanis to restock and supply herself, lend her money as necessary, keep the things that can help the group like the shield and wand and any potions left and with some money buy potions expecially antitoxins and healing potions or better still a wand of healing.

The idea that Loriel 'recovered the shield on her own' is ridiculous. We were all traveling down the corridor when we collectively came across the room and saw the items. Then you posted as Loriel that you would take the items before anyone else managed to get a post in.

That in no way constitutes recovering an item on your own.

And to be honest, even if Loriel had done so, why would she need the shield at all?

Personally I'd like for us to be able to divide loot without recourse to an auction system. But if people who can't use items start claiming them, then keeping things as they are is better for all.

As for what to do with the shield, since DA wants it for Artanis, I say we let her have it. Sure it'll be a while before she's able to pay off the 9k, but since there will be items that we'll find in the future that people will be bidding on, it won't take that long (I think).

I'm all for selling the spear though, if Xaris doesn't want it.

Post for Loriel

Your right about that Loriel did post first about going in to that room. She still would have the group keep the shield but thinks we should sell the spear unles Xaris wants it he is the only one with enough hit pontsts but even then it is a dicey item.

.

yeah I much rather not use it. Besides, He wont give up using his fathers sword willingly for some spear that could kill him in the process.
