Talus

Given that Talus is from Mulhorand, does he look vaguely Egyptian? Just curious.

revisionist history

why yes, yes he does. Vaguely.

His hair is (now) closer to black than brown and Talus's skin (just became) a light olive-brown. And he's acquired a faint accent.

I love discovering little details like this that change, sometimes drastically a good portion of the character.

Erk...

Erk...sorry! I didn't want to force you to change how he originally appeared.

I was just curious what he looked like, so I could build a mental picture of him.

Perfectly Ok

I build my characters piece meal. Unless some part of their story dictates they look a certain way, appearance usually isn't set until someone asks what he looks like.
Until then my mental picture of him is something that kind of looks like me, but with minor and nondescript changes to better suit whatever his stat scores may be. Kinda like looking through glasses that are REALLY the wrong prescription; he's there but blurry. You just brought him a bit more into focus. Thanks.

I do live theater. I act, I tech, whatever. Part of that training makes me hesitant to sit down and figure out all of the character before I start playing with him. I put together just enough to start the first session and discover the rest as I go along. The constant "I didn't know that before" is what makes playing fun for me. Until the character dies, I never know everything about him.

This was supposed to be a short post. Oh well.

Heya Deuc

Just thought you might want to rename the fine equine properly hehe

You've chosen Moon Dancer not MoonShadow, which is a Coo'Shee wolf

updates are in, and Cd points ae available for those who ahvn't already given me theirs (which I believe is just Aelistae and Decualion for the last wee little bit.)

Any other's who wish to give any now is the time, as the next available installment for CD distribution will be after this possible encounteris completed.

Slight problem

You left Artanis out of your map, Kaelyn.

Question about Spell-ing

The shatter spell. Can it be used to shatter part of an object, say a section of a tree limb, or does it only function on the entire object, i.e. needing to target the limb and the entire rest of the tree?

Some assumptions

I'm assuming that it's alright to assume that Aelistae would still have her mithril shirt on?

I figure that the weight of it is so little that she would, until it had been decided who was going to keep watch and when. But if you deem that she wouldn't have it on, that's ok.

Answers

I left an apology with Artanis player DA, he can be anywhere she needs in the map, I forgot to add her and am sorry for the mistake.

AS for the Shatter spell, while the description vaguely states it attempts to blow up an item, if the item is massive and beyond the weight of the tenpounds per cater level limit, I will allow a targeted attempt of a smaller part of a whole such as a tree limb instead of an entire tree, with a standard will save pending results.

And as for Aelistae, I don't see why she wouldn't still be in her armor.

Ended up turning left instead

Didn't need to know about the shatter spell for this post after all. I thought I was going to use that once or twice before combat started... oh well. Maybe next time.

I need to stop planning short posts. They end up being 2x bigger than what they look like in my head. Sorry for the pre-combat novel.

...

No need to apologize. I loved the last post you did.

And all I can say to Aelistae actually having her armour this time is: whoo! It feels like it's the first time in ages.

Did it work?

I'm glad you liked it.

Was I able to successfully elicit a "Wait, what? Where did that come in?" type response at the beginning of the dream sequence?

I'm a fan of starting non-sequiturs and making them tie in somehow.

I know what that can be like. My favorite armor has become the mithril breastplate. It's considered light armor, so you can sleep in it and not be fatigued the next morning. My fighter only takes his off to bathe, and only then when he's behind a locked door or there's some other party members around to guard.
Having AC='No' can really suck.

Nah

I don't think I've ever had my characters sleep in armour (unless it was during lulls on a battlefield or if they were expecting combat). I just think it would be so uncomfortable (in real terms and not game mechanics-wise).

Well maybe a mithril shirt wouldn't, but mithril breastplate would surely be really horrible to sleep in.
