I Spy...............

Peri...

The little Faerie dragon had done her best to protect herself but she felt badly that her powers were weak compared to their enemy's power. She knew her companion was willing to lay down his life for his friends and she felt helpless. As she scanned to action around her she saw that Ulthok's old friend Cor seemed to be being weakened by the gaze of the huge face. So from the relative security of her Globe she cast Blindness on the floating face to stop the gaze from further harming the Knight Cleric.

Lightning Never Strikes Twice

Siréne did not wait for the winds to die down to begin her next attack. With graceful movements her fingers closed around a smooth shaft of metal. Already she could feel the wands' inner magic come alive with her touch. It pulsed with a deadly energy the begged for release. Of that, Siréne was happy to oblige.

With narrowed eyes Siréne pointed the wand towards the dazed and approaching Gith. A trickle of will and an unholy scream heralded a deafening clap and a blinding flash of light sizzling into the creatures before her.

((OOC: Wand of Lightning - Forked Bolt targeting the Gith))

humming a tune

Alyia caught herself humming along with the Dwarf Berserkers boisterious song. finding her consentration she kept her focuss on the glithe before her, hoping not to loose the stride she found. moved to atack the gith before her (#1 ) an in a arching sweep slashed her sword at its throat, pressing forward still though the thought of being surrounded by these creatures was not a plesent thought if she could move them far enough away to cast a spell

A new round

For the party outnumbered and facing powerful foes, it was all in a days work. However, this day was looking to be long, hot, and bloody,

The first of the party to act this round was the Faerie Dragon Peri. Seeing Cor weakened by possibly by a ray from one of Smiley's eyes, she quickly cast Blindness upon the yellow creature hoping to gain the same success as Dark Whisper had against Weaver. However, her spell seemed to have no effect on the smiley face that she could see.

For Cor, knowing he was under some type of restraining spell knew he had to break it quickly. Going into a posture of defense, he cast upon himself the spell of Free Action and at once no longer felt slowed. The success of the spell was timely as Smiley struck at Cor with his eyes and mouth once more. This time however though the smiley face's eye rays were unsuccessful, though its bite was not, as it took a medium chunk out of Cor's arm.

Sirene having seen her Ring of Elemental Command buy her a few seconds of extra time turned to yet another weapon at her command. Her wand of Lighting quickly to hand she commanded it to cast a three forked bolt at Gith's #11, #12, & #13. With #11, and #12 stunned there was no way to avoid the bolts or defend against them as they hit. For #11 it ended quickly as the bolt arrowed straight into the Githyanki's head. Exploding skull and brain matter flying everywhere the Gith never knew it was dead. The bolt aimed at number #12 was not so accurate but still quite deadly as it speared into the Gith warrior's chest. Propelling the evil creature backward, the bolt lodged in its chest. It seemed as if it wanted to carry the Githyanki to its death.

The third and last bolt was not as lucky as #13 managed to dodge it. However, the static electricity from the bolt's passing filling the air, still caused the Gith's armor to charge and vibrate causing the warrior some damage as he closed into melee range. The Gith's sword up, over, and down, seemingly attacking of its own accord, was determined to hit her. However, she was still somehow able to dodge all of the attacks directed at her from the Githyanki warrior this round.

For Roan seeing how effective his Ring of the Ram had just been, decided to use it again. This time against the suit of White Armor (#1) coming up behind him. Command word spoken, a magical fist of blunt force trauma struck the White Armor dead on sending it reeling back to crash to the ground. However as Roan watched the creature regain it's feet, he could see that unlike Lothor's sword hits, now the suit of armor had a huge dent in it‘s chest. The dent so deep, causing the front of the armor to touch the back, thus normally killing anything living inside it. With a determined stride, the White Armor moved quickly and attacked the Ranger/Cleric scoring a minor hit upon Roan's leg.

Ulthok could see the Howler, angry that his spell of death had failed, headed towards him at a good stride. Knowing the size difference to be skewed in the Shadow-Wraith's favor as the Howler drew close, he hurled the Vial of Fiery Burning he been holding hidden in his hand. The vial easily hitting the big wraith headed towards him, burst into a huge gout of fire covering the Howler from head to toe in flames. However through the flames and a cry of pain, the Shadow-Wraith came on, his sword Backtalker swinging. Ulthok having had his sword of Lightning Quickness ready was able to successfully block both attacks.

For Lothor back to back with Weaver, who unbeknownst to him was blind, found himself facing a single opponent. However, that single enemy was a very dangerous suit of White Armor (#2) who came on full bore to the attack. Once more, a flurry of blows and this time Lothor felt as if his stomach was on flames as the armor's sword scored a deep cut. As before, Lothor's single grazing hit bouncing off the armor's steel. Then he was hit again as a Githyanki (#6) attacked from his right side. The creature's great sword slicing in caught the human Fighter in his shoulder causing a gruesome cut but very little real damage.

Barreel was like an angry man growing more and more crazier with every passing second, his song growing stronger along with him. In a all out charge he slammed into the Githyanki warrior (#7) before him and as he, his spiked armor and axe proceeded to drop it bleeding and unconscious to the floor, never stopped. For Barreel had his eyes on a most wanted prize, that of the life of a Shadow-Wraith. Oh the songs they will sing of me if I kill one such as she the thought going through his mind as he moved closer to Dark Whisper.

In his favor was the surprised Shadow-Wraith's reaction on seeing the dwarf headed her way, but it only gained him a few strides closer before she acted.
A series of quick words spoken and Barreel found himself lifted into the air. With a smile of beauty that could only come from an evil face, Dark Whisper slammed the Dwarf Berserker up into the ceiling before her. As he fell to the floor armor and spikes easing his fall, she picked him up once more.

For Weaver the world was black Dark Whispers spell of Blindness having just barely been successful. However though his sight was gone, his hearing and his skill of Blind Fighting were not and he put those two to good use. As the two Githyanki's moved to engage, (#9, #10) they moved with caution not knowing the Ranger/Bard was blind and this worked to Weaver's advantage as he attacked first. His strike at the first Gith (#9) successfully slowing the creature down he turned and defended against the second taking only a small hit to his side. His back still somewhat covered by Lothor, he hoped to be more successful next round.

Aliya, humming along with Barreel's song felt empowered to attack the single Githyanki to her front (#1) while defending against the Gith to her side. (#2) Her Vorpal blade turning the Gith's great sword aside with her first attack, and with her second slicing across its belly deep. Then she was engaged with the second Gith (#2) and found herself taking a medium cut to her leg causing her to stumble but not fall. Leg bleeding she had given better then she had gotten. The first Gith (#1) having fallen back dead.

The last of the party to act, Rayne, found herself on her back covered in Githyanki blood and body parts. The close impact of her two arrows having done a very good job killing the Githyanki warrior that both arrows of energy had hit so suddenly. Breathing heavily, her chest in pain, she came up to her knees dazed. As she once more sought to be clear-headed, she once more gripped her bow looking for a hittable target for the next round.

In the background even over the sounds of the raging fight a strange high pitched voice could be heard chanting as the Queen's advisor began to cast a spell. Then the last of the enemy, Howler, attacked once more. Ulthok having successfully defended against the Shadow-Wraith's initial attacks now found himself hit hard as Howler's sword seemed to hit from out of nowhere. The Halfling Thief/Mage seemingly unable to defend against it. Bleeding now from a deep cut in his side he now found himself in trouble.

(DM OOC: Ok here is my post for this week hope you like it. As my comp is going into the shop tomorrow for repairs and upgrades I may not be able to post a map until later in the week, as I am not sure if I can hook the scanner up to my laptop. If so, we can wing it or wait until next week for me to post depending again when a map is posted. Ok don't worry just be happy everyone)

I can still hear and smell you

Maggot, slightly crouched in his stance, still using his staff as a shield, sniffed the air, ‘You do not want this,' he hissed to the Giths. His staff went high as he defend the attacks while his sword, in a slicing manner cut low. Now knowing if he just maims these creators they will slip back to the whole from which they came.

To arms

Lothor noticed his sword's lack of effect and decided he would change his tactics. Instead of going for the stronger of the foes, he would go for the weaker. Weed em out so that the party together could focus down the stronger ones. Shifting his stance to where he could still defend himself against the armor, Lothor struck out against the gith. His wounds reminded him that even he could only take so much before falling and hoped that this battle would not be his last.

(OOC: ok, since my last post was somehow lost in the webs and shame on me for not double checking that it had made it, I will state was I was going to last time. If we have any counter/dispel type magic among the party maybe we could try and use it against the armors.)

attack

Cor shook off the effects of the spell just in time to feel the bite on his arm. "So ye want to cast spells and bite do ye? Well lets see how you like it." Cor swung his axe at the smiley face.

In Fighting.............

Although his foe was now engulfed in flame it still wields its sword with deadly skill. It didn't take much for the mage to realize that those swords were the gifts of the evil that employed them and he was no match to exchange sword play. This creature would hack him to bits if he stood his ground. So in a bold act he dropped his sword, pulled his +3 dagger and leapt on the flaming Howler. While holding tightly and keep away from the creature mouth it case it tried it scream attack again, he proceeded to it stab repeatedly. By holding close to his enemy it would keep it from being able to use his sword as effectively and hamper its attack. Ulthok's dexterity and the gantlets of Ogre strength could keep him in the fight.

(OCC: I think Ulthok gets 3 attacks with his dragger.)

What's That.......

Peri,,,
Frustration perplexes the Faerie Dragon as again it seemed her attempt help was turned aside. But now she heard something coming from throne area. A strange high pitched voice could be heard chanting. Once again from her globe Peri tried to help and cast Confusion on the being beside the throne in hopes of interrupting whatever spell it may be attempting to cast.

To Cleave a Dent

Roan did not have the luxury of time to second guess the expenditure of the two charges from his Ring of the Ram that left a dent from the chest to the back of the White Armor 1 that seemed to have no visible ill effect upon his foe.

The minor wound to his leg served to merely irritate the Human Ranger/Cleric as he grasped the hilt of his sword with both hands, springing forward with all the might he could muster, in hopes of bringing the sword blade full force into the dent to slice his foe in two!

"ODIN Guide My Aim!"
The only sounds Roan could hear was his own blood lust throbbing in his brain as he listened to the faint breeze of his sword arcing towards the target of his immediate enemy!

((OOC: Depending upon the result of his fierce attack, Roan will prepare to Cast a spell of Spiritual Weapon to follow up his retaliation against White Armor 1 or will use the spell to dispatch the Githyanki #4 that was stunned by his first Ring of the Ram initiative!))

allure of magic....

Alyia faced the second glith, its sword biting into her leg.

Alyia hissed as blood rage clouded her judgement as she mentally pictured holding the creatures head in her hands an casting fireball watching the flith dissipate in the flames.

Alyia quicly came back to reality as she stumbled forward parring an attack.

Slashing upwards at the creatures stomach an chest as she lundged back onto her feet.

Pringle BBQ chips Mmmmmmm

In a battle of magic, timing is key and so it was with the Queen's advisor, Peri and the Queen herself. As the Queen shouted some type of command, the Githyanki warriors at once phasing away, the faerie dragon cast her spell of confusion. In the same instance, the Advisor cast his spell of Summoning, getting it off a second before Peri's hit. Failing his save, the Advisor's face at once fell flaccid into a stunned look, as in the room appeared anew two 10 headed Hydra‘s.

With the Hydra's arrival and the Githyanki withdrawal, the party was left facing in direct melee the two suits of magic inhibiting white armor, the Howler, Smiley with Dark Whisper casting her magic in the back.

The Lich Queen, seeing her Advisor stunned, quickly turned to him, moving on her throne to aid him. A hand reached out as she stood to touch him and the stunned look was at once gone leaving in its place a look of utter hatred, his eyes only for Peri.

For Cor, his opponent unlike the Githyanki, having remained it was another round of melee. However unlike the previous rounds no longer was the Dwarf Knight Cleric under any kind of magical disadvantage. As the smiling face of horror attacked once more, it was greeted by the full power of an angry Dwarf's attack. One, two three hits did Cor score pushing the yellow ball of evil back, a blackish green ichors escaping its body. Its feeble attempts to do more then defend, and find a way to attack back a failure; it could do nothing more the move out of Melee range of the Dwarf. For the moment, Cor was without a foe to fight yet with Hydra's at his back.

For Barreel the situation he found himself in could not be any worse as Dark Whisper lifted him to slam him into the ceiling once more. However the hardy resilient Dwarf had a plan, and as the Shadow Wraith slammed him upwards, he focused his fall towards her. Having let go to allow him to fall Barreel quickly spun, his feet for a spilt second meeting the ceiling, and using his Boots of Striding and Springing ‘sprang' towards her. Dark Whisper unable to regain control of the Dwarf berserker quick enough tried to dodge but failed. Slamming into to her, Barreel impaled her fully on his armor, the two of them falling to the floor.

Roan had seen his Ring of the Ram cause such a wound against White Armor 1 that would kill a normal creature, or even a magical one. Hoping to further cause damage, possibly destroying it, he went for the dent, swinging his sword with all his strength. A clean strong hit smashed into the hole in the armors chest, the sound loud even with the noise of battle,. Only to be deflected once more without causing any damage. The armor's return swings were both close misses as it continued its attack against the male Human Ranger/Cleric.

Ulthok knowing to go one on one against Howler was a fools errand decided to take a big risk, dropping his sword, pulling one of his +3 daggers and leaping on the flaming Howler. Protected from the fire still burning the Shadow-Wraith by the earlier drank potion he landed on the Howlers large shoulders, the dagger striking forward. The dagger perfectly placed pierced Howlers shoulder causing the large Shadow-Wraith to scream in pain. Yet the creature was in no way helpless as Ulthok found to his dismay. Reaching around over its shoulder it barely touched a dodging Ulthok but that was unwrought as it sent a barrage of five Magic Missiles directly into Ulthok's body! The small Halfling withstood the barrage and thanks to his Gauntlets of Ogre Strength remained on the Howlers back for now.

Lothor frustrated with his inability to cause damage to the White Armor before him now turned his attack to the Githyanki before him only to find them gone, having been commanded it seemed, to phase away. Desperately turning to meet the White Armor's attack he barely blocked its first and took its second in his leg. Going down on one knee, blood from his other wounds flowing, the fighter was in bad shape.

Rayne having once more come to one knee, Anduril ready, quickly saw that Weaver was fighting blind. Quickly moving she grabbed from one of her belt pouches a potion, reaching the Ranger/Bard's side she handed it to him with a quick word.

"Drink this"

Turning she saw Lothor go to one knee covered in blood from his many wounds. Raising her hand she readied a spell of curing to cast her next round.

For the last of the party, Weaver, Astrid and Sirene, they found themselves with no foes before them, the Githyanki having phased away. The three members free to act without restraint Weaver with a potion in hand.

(DM OOC: Ok sorry for the long delay but finally a post from me. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and you are ready to continue this fight. Next post baring any RL issues Sunday Dec 7th Map up by Tuesday.)

change of dance partners

"Run away ye wee foul-mouthed apparition! Afraid ta pick a fair fight are ye? Well, I'll be back for ye in a bit. First this lizard wants ta play." Cor did not follow the talking mouth but instead turned to face the hydra. Hoping to cause a serious first wound, Cor turned to the power of Odin. "All father, tis time ta heat things up a bit, grant me your power ta roast this evil creature." Cor cast flame strike centered on the hydra.

Another Weapon

Roan had not made much progress against his White Armor 1 Foe with his weapons forged from the natural elements of the earth, nor had his Ring of the Ram succeeded in stopping his menacing foe!

However, the Ranger/Cleric refused to despair, once more calling upon Odin to guide his efforts against his relentless foe!

"ODIN Lead Me To Victory!"
Roan summoned his Second Level Cleric Spell Casting Ability to Call Upon 'Spiritual Weapon' to vanquish his white armored, albeit dented, magical foe!

((OOC: Roan casts Spiritual Weapon against White Armor 1 to hopefully vanquish his foe!))

Let flame be my guide

Cerulean eyes narrowed at the sight before her. So many of the githyanki had fallen but their masters remained. Even now the queen summoned more aberrations from the depths. A hissing hydra shrieked before them. The others rushed in to attack, it was an immediate threat.

Sirene focused her ire on another in the room. The queen and her hooded crony sat completely unfettered. They were the real threat. Taking in a deep breath, the witch priestess called on the primordial power of the great goddess. Once again Sirene raised her voice in an esoteric chant with her arms held out before her, summoning the fury of flame. With a final word of power the priestess threw back her head and clapped her hands high.

An explosive roar echoed through the room as heat gathered into a body of flame casting a red orange glow. The elemental screamed and spun into the queen and her minions with deadly fury.

((OOC: Summon Fire Elemental - target the queen and the advisor))
