A rest and a prayer.

Roan sat there on the ground, in his meditative position. His fingers running over, the well placed silver valknut, within his bracer. The Kopesh sword sitting at his side. His prayers to Odin, but a silent whisper. As he finishes his prayer, a faint memory crosses his mind. One of his child hood. His younger brother and him playing. Then the scene twists in his mind, suddenly splashes of red ,and his eyes open and go wide... Roan slowly glances around him. Takes a deep breath, and return to his meditation.

A plethora of knowledge in a few hours

Aliya quietly released a breath of relief she didn’t realize she had been holding. What a magnificent being was before them, the power, the magesty, and the terror she could bring. Aliya was a little afraid of what this enormous and ancient dragon might do to them, but her curiosity and thirst for knowledge bringing out her grandfather’s teachings from what seemed ages ago overrode the fear. His favorite saying broke into her mind with a pang of sadness, "Only those who lack the power that knowledge brings balk at its power." After helping with healing those that needed it, offering her two healing potions to the ones most hurt if there weren’t enough spells to go around, and remembering the wand she recently acquired would be of use as well if needed, she listened intently as the two spoke, relishing in the tales as she had when her grandmother would tell her bedtime stories as a child.

When all were tended to and settled for rest, Aliya quietly dug in her pack for an item she hadn’t used in a long time, and certainly not since they had been brought back in time to this place. As her pencil flew across the page of her book, it took in the scene before her: The Elven beauty telling the tales of the world to the ancient dragon that held her own savage beauty, the mound of still-melting ice that once imprisioned her, the corpses of the strange beholders that would plague neither her nor this party again, and finally upon the resting or sleeping shapes of these companions in front of her, a warm smile coming to her lips as she drew them, caught up in the elf’s tales and hoping she would remember it all later so she might write them down. If Aliya had anything to do with it, she would make damn sure all knew of this great being, if they actually make it home ...

Tell me Enchantress of this future of yours...

And she did. The passage of the millenia flowed from her lips and Kakaranatha drank it all in, her cold reptilian gazing pulling out all the witch had. It was an unending ordeal, and Siréne felt drained. Still they went on...

The only repreive she had been offered was the return of the wretched beholders, which Kakaranatha destroyed with word of power. Siréne narrowed her eyes as she watched the abominations burn to ask. What were they?

"Those abberant beholders, I have not encountered such creatures before. What are they? They are not but dust before you. Why did they hold you in the ice? Is there a greater enemy lurking?" Siréne asked and waited for the dragon's response.

Their conversation continued on until the tale of all of history had been recounted. Kakaranatha did not seem pleased at all that had come to pass, anger burned in her eyes.

“Yet you never spoke of me in these recountings, what happened to me?” the dragon hissed one final question.

Siréne exhaled and met Kakaranatha's gaze, "The legends of the first elves speak of you, Loki's first creation born with the power to rival God. We know that Loki feared Kakaranatha and made the mortal dragons in response to this threat. Yet our history does not tell your fate. There is only mystery."

Pausing she took another breath and touched her hand to her chest, "The greatest power lies in the mysteries and what has been hidden. Much of the world has forgotten the Old Ways, but they still persist. Our ways are hidden, but they remain. What has been hidden gives us power. This I beleive, Kakaranatha, is how you have chosen to watch the passage of the ages. We both know the shadows empower what they hide."

Time for some questions

As the group got their rest, Lothor decided that it was time to take advantage of the situation and talk to the arch-mage.  He respected the man - his obvious power and his place in history.  The world seemed to owe him a great deal.  But he also had put Lothor's entire group in great peril.  He couldn't help but wonder how much Allanan had known when he sent them here.  This one would not be the first great mage to keep secrets!

But before he approached the man Lothor paused and calmed himself.  The mage had also ended up a prisoner.  If the group had not arrived, how long would Allanan have remained frozen?  He might have known more, or he might simply have known that there was power here for the spell.  Certainly Lothor did not know enough of the ways of magic to decifer such things himself.  So it wasn't an interogation.  But they did need to figure out what to do.  Clearly the dragon would determine much of that, but there may be some other response possible.  They needed information and a collective decision.  And so he approached the arch-mage.

"Allanan.  You said we needed to kill it and we chose to avoid what seemed a suicidal battle.  In your eyes, where do we stand now.  I have questions.  And we need to figure out a plan.  Lets see what Sirene can get from the dragon, of course, but we also need to be ready for . . . whatever.  May I ask some questions?

***Assuming the arch-mage is willing to talk, Lothor would follow up with a series of questions including the topics below.  Of course, his answers might lead to further questions.

*Does he still think we need to kill it?

*If so, how?

*What does he know about this thing?

*Did he know it was here when he sent us here?

*Does he know anything about he beholders?

*Is there any other way to get back to our time?

*What will loosing this thing into the world do to the future?

*What would he suggest?

*How was he caught?

*How did he get down here to be caught?

*If it attacks us once Sirene is done, how would he suggest fighting it?

*Could we/should we all escape it and find another way to the future?  Does he have a suggestion for how to do this?

Fate......

As the Sirene spoke with the great beast the party took the opertunity to rest, heal and replentish there magic. Ulthok found Valene and taking her hand he lead her to a quiet spot. "We must rest and replentish. I had feared I'd had lost you forever and now once again our lives are.... well our time may be short. Rest with me and let me just live a lifetime in a few hours in your presents." The two Halfling sat quietly back to back. Valene meditated to her diety renewing the list of spells she had as they had entered the cavern.Ulthok opened his Tome of Magic adding spells that he hoped might aid the party. They gained strength and power.

They didn't speak of the future or of love but just knew this is what they are now.

Finishing he studies Ulthok became concious of the rythmic breathing of the body pressed to his back. The feeling warmed his heart but also it opened the pain of lose, his hand touched the pouch where the frail body of his small companion lay waiting to have life breathed back into her. Survival of this caverner was a must and he was not able to see how that will happen.

They now waited on their fate to be decided............

Back to the Future PT 1

As Kakaranatha drank it all in, and pondered the future as told by the Elf sorceress, her cold reptilian gaze seemingly far away. Her attention was brought back by the Elf’s next question.

"Those abberant beholders, I have not encountered such creatures before. What are they? They are not but dust before you. Why did they hold you in the ice? Is there a greater enemy lurking?" Siréne asked and waited for the dragon's response.”

A deep laugh of bitterness..

They were a gift from my creator so as to be my servants. However they betrayed me and before I could stop them they froze me and it would seem brought me to this huge place. Trust me Elf there will be a reckoning soon.”

Their conversation continued on until the tale of all of history had been recounted. Kakaranatha did not seem pleased at all that had come to pass, anger burned in her eyes.

Yet you never spoke of me in these recountings, what happened to me?” the dragon hissed one final question.

Siréne exhaled and met Kakaranatha's gaze, "The legends of the first elves speak of you, Loki's first creation born with the power to rival God. We know that Loki feared Kakaranatha and made the mortal dragons in response to this threat. Yet our history does not tell your fate. There is only mystery. The greatest power lies in the mysteries and what has been hidden. Much of the world has forgotten the Old Ways, but they still persist. Our ways are hidden, but they remain. What has been hidden gives us power. This I beleive, Kakaranatha, is how you have chosen to watch the passage of the ages. We both know the shadows empower what they hide."

No child your wrong for there to be no tales of me means that in your time I still lay here frozen. If not for your travel in time and your need to return to your own I would not be free.”

Looking at the Elf before her and the rest of her party she took a moment to ponder her next course of action. With the abundance of knoweledge she had aquired, power would easily be hers after she dealt with matters long overdue. Though the Elf had lived up to her end of the bargin, but should she live up to hers? Her belly rumbled in hunger as if to give it’s own voice to a choice.

Yes she could easily kill them, though it would not be easy truth be told, and then feast on them. She would gain a good supply of food for all were tasty with Elves the best tasting when cooked, and the Dwarf could easily be made into jerky. The humans she would need to eat right away as they became quite rank quickly and tasted best fresh. However as evil as most thought her she was still honorable in a way and having given her word, she would stand upon it.

Well Elf you have done as I asked of you and I too will do as I spoke. What is it you feel you need from me to give you the power to travel forward in time.?

After hearing Allanan’s suggestion it was her heart a deep laugh rolled across the huge space.

That of course is not going to happen Wizard but may I suggest this. If you and I put our power together and using the power of my blood then we combined can send these travelers home. Then Wizard you can go back to your life and they can return to thiers.”

Cocking her head looking at Allanan she waited.

I don’t know if that will work, but if that is all we can gain from you without a fight then I geuss that will have to do.”

Within a few hours the blood was drawn and the spell readied. The party gathered together in a tight knot, Allanan standing at the dragons feet. All that was left was to cast it…..

(DM OCC: Ok part one is up to show everyone the game is still on. I’ll have part 2 up hopefully by at least next weekend. No need to post as there is nothing for the party to do but if you want to please feel free. Thank you all for sticking around.)

Back to the Future pt 2

As the words were upon Allanan’s lips Talca suddenly moved out from the circle. Looking back to the rest he spoke.

“I cannot travel to the future with you all as that is not my home. Yes I have been frozen here for a long time, however I feel going even further with you would be a mistake.” Walking to all of them he gave them each a handshake and a thank you for his freedom.

“Travel well my friends.”

And with that Talca turned back to the way the party had entered the huge cavern and in a short time he was gone. With everyone once more ready the words of the spell flowed and with the ancient dragons power joined, the party found themselves in darkness. However just as quickly they found themselves caught in time, in a bubble of sorts, watching themselves begin to cast the spell that would thrust them back in time.

As the spell was cast and the party before them vanished, Allanan powered the bubble out through the halls of the castle and to earth. Shouting a string of hurried words as the bubble released them to stand within the walls of Craggian Core, he summoned a trio of huge air elemental s and sent them to the castles base.

Though clearly not large or numerous enough to stop the evil castles fall they were still strong enough to push it far enough away to keep it from crashing upon Craggian Core itself and instead the center of the vast Cirath Ungole horde. The crash of the Githyanki castle caused a domino effect first killing most of its leaders, sending a cloud of blood, severed body parts, fragments of smashed bones acting as if missiles. Equipment and weapons carried and stored destroyed in a fiery instant finally sending the the surviving horde into a panicked retreat from before Craggian Core’s walls.

For the first time in many a week a roar of excitement rose from the fortresses walls as the garrison and armies within knew they had won. However short or long that victory would be, was for now of no matter, morale was once again strong. For the party they too found themselves safe and alive their encounter with the oldest of dragons and their trip to the past all having survived. The question now what to do next, a table of kings surely ready to ask.

(DM OOC: OK second part of these restart post. Feel free to post any character thoughts dealing with the previous events and to let me know who is still with me in the game so I know which characters to write out of the game. Any questions asked of the Dragon or Allanan, yes Nomad I have not forgot, I’ll post in the Q/A soon as that is easier then trying to do so in a post for me at this time. Ok as we have said before GAME ON!)

Cor stood and watched as the huge air elementals blew the falling city away from Cragen Core.  Such a display of raw power would make most tremble but after recent events the knight-cleric simple stood silent.  It seemed their trip into the past was a success. Would anyone believe their tale?  What changes did their transfer of knowledge to the god-dragon beget?   "I dinna think I'd see this time again.  We should make haste and get inside and see how things have faired in our absence.  Judging from what we just saw time has not advanced much during our leave.  There are hose inside who will want ta hear our report.  I just wonder if they will think us all daft when it is told."  Cor began the walk towards the gate.

A return

The wind whipped through her raven hair as Siréne once again stood on the soil of Craggion Core. It was all so strange. They had been gone not even a moment, yet that moment held for them the passage of many days, and for the world, millennia. Time mattered little to her people, for those whose live stretched out beyond eternity there was little difference between a year and a century. Still, their leaping through thousands of years startled even her ageless perspective. An icy chill gripped her heart as she wondered what price their world would pay.

Siréne's thoughts moved to Kakaranatha and their unending conversation. In walking through time they had set a god free. For that and all she had told the dragon, the world would surely pay dearly. Still, the witch found herself hoping Kakaranatha had made it through the ages. In her time with the dragon goddess, she had sensed an understanding between them. They were both born of what had come before the age of man. Terror and excitement filled her at the thought that there might be some thread that tied the people of faerie and that ancient dragon together. She would have to think long on its meaning.

For now though, they had returned and must make there way again in their own time. Onward to Craggion Core!

We're Back........

It has been said that knowledge is power, but for this party knowledge was currency. Sirene had clearly bought their freedom with the knowledge of the future. The great wyrm might now change all that was to be..or perhaps they had just done as fate had dictated. Only time will tell.

With power granted from Kakaranatha the Mage Allanan cast the spell to send them back to their own time, Talca choosing to not go with them but remain in his own time. Ulthok linked hands with Valene, not just to complete the cicle need for the spell but to be sure she returned with him.

A bubble of sorts engulfed them and the passing of time flowed over and around them as the centuries blurred by. How the Master Mage knew when to stop the spell was beyond the Halfling’s knowledge of magic. He could only trust and that seemed to be enough. The bubbled popped and they stood inside the walls of Craggian Core fortress.

Were they in their own time? Looking up he saw the flying castle now plummeting to earth and strait toward them.  Yes and what irony, they were about to die under the falling castle.

Allanan reached out and suddenly several air elementals appeared and nudged the castle just enough to land short of the Craggian Core walls. To their great joy the castle landed on the enemy forces with such an impact as to decimate enough of the horde to send the remaining fleeing.

“Great googely moogely, that certainly went better than could be hoped for.” His fingers were still linked with Valene’s, drawing her to him he kissed her deeply.  When their lips finally parted they could hear the cheers of Cores forces as the enemy fled. Little did they know how this miracle had occurred for them.

Turning to the party, “ Let us make our way back to General St. Albans home, there we can send message to the Kings and Cor and I report what has  transpired. The rest of you can rest.” Then quietly to Valene, “We can find the appropriate place to tend to Peri. I will gladly give or purchase what is needed to raise her. “

With that he led the party back through the streets of Craggin Core.

Back to the future, part III

Lothor watched as the mage and dragon created the spell that would send them back to their own time.  Forward to their own time.  To their own time.  Whatever.

When they landed back at Craggin Core he watced the castle start to plummit - it seemed they were successful in destroying the castle when they were sent back in time.  And he watched as air elementals pushed its fall onto the invaders army.  Things seemed to be going well.

He looked around.  Everything seemed to be as they had left it.  Except for the crashed castle, dead monster army and cheering allies, of course.  But in general it seemed the same.  He peered as closely as he could at the armies and at the banners.  Were they all the same?  Did Craggin core look the same?  Was the flying castle the same as the one they had entered so long/so recently ago?  The idea of loosing that dragon-god on the world had unnerved him.  His first sense was that this beast was a worse danger than a flying castle.  But he didn't know.  The thing had had over a thousand years with knowledge of the future to change events.  Surely it had done something with that knowledge.  And yet, Craggin Core looked like good ol'/new Craggin Core.  He stared just to be sure.

Behind him, Ulthok turned to the party, “ Let us make our way back to General St. Albans home, there we can send message to the Kings and Cor and I report what has  transpired. The rest of you can rest.”

Lothor nodded his assent and followed the halfling forward and into Craggin Core.

A keen eye rewarded.

As the party returned to the future from the past made their way towards the inner castle none could see any difference at all. It seemed for the most part nothing had changed due to their time in the past and the release of Kakaranatha. However as the party headed towards General St Albans home the only one really seeking signs of change was Lothor. He was soon rewarded for his intense observation.

The fighter slowly began to see subtle differences in some of the dealers stands. Though in most cases nothing had changed, the many seller stands the same as before, in others he began to see many things for sale all seeming to symbolize hints of dragons. Mugs with the pic of a huge dragon in the background, small statues of dragons mixed in with others of warriors, animals, symbols of war and others.

Ear rings and necklaces, swords and armor, one suit made to look as if made from dragon scales. Even clothing and various other items for sale all with just again a subtle hint of a draconian influence. However what caught Lothor’s eye and held it was what looked to him as some form of chess game with the pieces different then normal. Calling to the party to wait, the human fighter moved closer to that sellers stand.

Looking upon the game he was taken aback as he realized the make up of the pieces. The white side’s queen was clearly Kakaranatha, the piece identical in every way to the real dragon. The King of the black side was none other then the god of mischief himself, Loki. Though the game appeared to be akin to chess it was different, the center of the board a huge crater as if a bomb had destroyed it. Around this crater where a number of squares sized as the same as that to the bases of all the playing pieces.

The pieces of Kakaranatha’s “army” to Lothor’s amazement were an assortment of Elf archers, a pair of Human Knights, and number of Dwaven soldiers. However the big fighter could not help his next intake of breath from almost making him choke as he realized the king piece beside that of Kakaranatha’s queen was none other then Odin the one eyed god himself.

Looking quickly towards the black side to see who represented Loki’s queen, he saw it to be Hel the Norse goddess of death. As he was about to call out to the rest of the party he was approached by the stands owner.

Ahh I see you like the Stratego! Yes a very good game depicting the Dragon Goddess’s defeat of Loki many hundreds of years past. Ahh what a great battle it was, she who destroyed Loki, but at such a great cost”

As the seller, a stout dwarf, had spoken the rest of the party had moved closer to hear his words and take in the game for themselves.

Great cost?” Rayne asked before anyone else could. The dwarf seeming to be surprised by the Elf’s question gave Rayne a quizzical look as if unbelieving she should ask such a question.

Why yes the destruction of the center region of Myasith and parts of Greymark as Loki was thrown from Asgard by the great dragon to crash upon Trilogy.”

In surprise at his words Roan found himself shocked and taking a step back to balance himself, his home destroyed? After but a brief moment an aggressive step forward brought the big man to the edge of the stand.

What do you mean dwarf, Myasith destroyed, what parts you say.”

This time it was the Dwarfs turn to step back from the edge of the stand the anger in Roan’s voice causing him to look at the human ranger/cleric as if he was crazy.

The center of Myasith is gone where once stood the cities of Tintalle, Rksa and the fortress Random, is now nothing. For Greymark the towns of Leto and the fortress of what was Tarsis is gone also. Though the capital of Myasith, The Cities Three, yet stands the cities themselves have become hives of warring wanna be kings each overcrowded and broken. All that exists within the great crater is ash, death, bones and magical storms that harbor horrors true. A million men, dwarf, and elves do stand guard on our border and have for generations to keep Calahorn safe. That is why the crater is center to the game and both sides must maneuver around it.”

As Roan in shock stepped back once again his knee were as if melted and his balance lost. It was only the strong arms of his love Rayne that kept him from falling to the ground. Leading him to the side of the stand, the two began to talk in hushed tones.

Turning away from Roan, the Ranger/Cleric forgotten, the dwarf merchant once more spoke to Lothor.

So sir would you or your party like to buy it. It is normally 200 gold but as we have won a great victory today I will sell it to you for 150”……..

(OOC: Ok here is my post a day early as my computer goes into the Best Buy shop tomorrow to be rebuilt and upgraded with the latest tech from motherboard to processor.. Hope to get it back by the next Sunday post which will be on the 24th. Thanks to everyone and enjoy.)

It seemed that things had indeed changed.  Dragon inmages appeared on many items.  As they approached one stand the owner was telling Roan about a game set for sale.  The story behind the game left no doubt that the deal made with the god dragon had a significant impact on history.  Odin himself appeared to have helped her in her battle against Loki.  Cor wondered if that meant Loki never made the other dragons.  Knowing that Odin suppported the god dragon, Cor felt they had struck a good bargin.  He was smart enough to not second guess his diety.  Turning to the shop keeper he spoke "A great victory was won indeed lad.  As for the price of the set, it seems you wish ta also score a great victory.  Tis not worth the claimed 200 we both ken that.  Even 150 is a bit high.  I should be insulted but I will indeed take the set.  I'll give ye 300 for it and not a copper less if ye related the entire story of the battles of long ago and today to us."

Finding what you hoped you wouldn't find

Dragons, dragons, everywhere.

Lothor listened as the shop keeper told his tale.  It was frightening.  Not just that the world now had a massive hole in the middle of it, but that they had done it.  At least in part.  And now this war continued, but with a hole in the middle of the world they were fighting for.  And yet, the banners and people around him remained unchanged, at least as far as he could tell so far.  Roan, at least, was still here - and he had been born in the now-blasted parts of the map.

He needed to know more.  He heard Cor's offer to hear more of the story.  For a dwarf he had lousy negotiation skills.  Still, he'd likely get more information.  He sighed a bit to give the impression of boredom lest the shop keeper think they were all hanging on every word and listened as the story unfolded.  As he did so he continued to watch as people passed and look around the store. He wanted to hear, but he also wanted to identify as many changes as possible.

Once the day's story time was over he decided to split from the rest of the group.  He would look for some books - a library or a book seller.  They needed information and he was not needed with the kings.  He would reasearch as best as he could.  He also wanted to know more about the war outside these walls.  Was it still the same enemy?  If he saw some soldiers (what were the odds/!) and the chance presented it self he would attempt to insinuate himself into their conversation.

Official restart, started :)

((He basically tells you the history of the world only adding the below as different then you know it. If there is anything specific post it or me))

“The center of Myasith is gone where once stood the cities of Tintalle, Rksa and the fortress Random, is now nothing.

As Lother in stunned silence took in the dwarf shopkeepers words, no one at first noticed that Rayne and Roan had moved off locked in a deep hushed conversation. Cor and Ulthok themselves somewhat shocked looked at the other and then Allanan. Both knew being the only surviving original members of the Lady Drusillia Liadon’s group they had to, along with Allanan, quickly report to any of the surviving kings. The biggest question though was what exactly to tell them and how to explain the changes caused by their freeing of Kakaranatha herself.

Having met the great Dragon herself and knowing her to be not the good of alignment as seemingly portrayed, the whole of the party wondered how or why the great female dragon was portrayed in such a benevolent manner. As if her taking Loki’s place had freed Trilogy from Loki’s evil. The party knew if anything she did it out of revenge not to become a new god. If she had then taken his place it was for an ulterior motive having nothing to do with starting a new religion or being ‘loved’
However the question was just how much to tell the kings of their journey to the past. However as Cor, Valene, Ulthok, and Allanan gestured for the others to join them, Rayne and Roan hesitated.

“My good friends” Roan spoke first “Rayne and I cannot journey with you to the castle proper. With this news of the destruction of parts of Myasith and Greymark we must leave to check on our homes and families. If not for that we would be right beside you once more.” A quick series of hugs and good byes and the two started to move away, However after only a few steps Rayne stopped and turned moving to Lothor.

“My friend I know not what you face in the road ahead but your current bow will not do much to help fight what you may face.” A sad smile on her face she unslung Andurile’s Blood from her back and presented it to the human fighter. “This is not a permanent gift mind you, just a loan. As you give me your bow I shall lend you mine and whence we see each other again I will reclaim it.” Taking Lothors bow she hugged the large man tightly then rejoined Roan and both headed to the north gates.

So once a party of 9 was now down to a party of 4+1. an as Allanan, Ulthok, Cor and finally Valene once more made to head to the main castle of the fortress Lothor brought up his desire to seek more information in a library of sorts. Promising to meet up with the other three later he asked the dwarf merchant and was told where to seek one. Sirene not wanting Lothor to travel alone and wanting answers herself she decided to join the human fighter in his quest.

ULTHOK,ALLANAN, COR, VALENE
--------------------------------------------
As Lothor and Sirene parted from them, the three headed towards the castle finding it difficult to do so as the streets were filled with celebrating people and soldiers. At times having to actually push people to the side, they were only spared fights thanks to the heavy patches of blood still upon armor and clothing. Weaving and pushing they finally found themselves in an area almost abandoned of anyone. It seemed to hit Cor and Ulthok together that something felt wrong that there should be people gathered here yet it seemed deserted. As the two started to draw weapons and Allanan raised hands for a spell, a small red headed girl of perhaps 14 stepped out to greet them.

“Please have no fear Cor Trollhammer, Ulthok Rydenham, and you Lord Allanan, I am not here to harm you. I am only an escort to someone who very much wishes to speak with all three of you”

LOTHOR, SIRENE
-----------------------------------------
As Mage and Fighter headed towards the location of the library they found movement slow and difficult to do so the streets over filled with celebrating people and soldiers. At times Lothor having to actually push people to the side to free his and Sirene’s passage. The two were only spared fights with drunks and upset bystanders thanks to Lothor’s size, Sirene’s clear knowledge of magic and the heavy patches of blood still upon armor and clothing. Weaving and pushing they finally found themselves in an area almost abandoned of anyone. It seem to hit the two together that something was not right, that there should be people gathered here yet it seemed deserted. As the Lothor started to draw his sword and Sirene raised hands for a spell, a small red headed girl of perhaps 14 stepped out to greet them.

“Please have no fear Sirene Taa’alah, Lothor Greenbeard, I am not here to harm you. I am only an escort to someone who very much wishes to speak with both of you”

ARANDUR, RAYDEN ALDAVATHAR
----------------------------------------------------
Rayden and Arandur Aldavathar had only entered the fortress of Craggian Core a week ago. For the two siblings having never truly been in a large human city much less a huge fortress were amazed and yet a little scared. As such the two had yet to enter. However having watched the sky battle of the Githyanki castle they knew they would have to enter if they were to complete a family quest given to them by their father, Talcanaiion Aldavathar, better known to all as Talca, upon his death bed. Though still considered young in the long life of an elf he had become mysteriously sick and died in a short few months. Some said it was magical ,some sad it was natural or food he had eaten, and though all found it strange nothing was ever found to prove it anything other then a sad death.

Having two children he was proud that one, the male Arandur took after him as a Ranger Pathfinder and the other, a girl Rayden became a Ranger/Cleric thus keeping a long heritage alive. The two such as elves do grew fast and on his death bed were quite skilled in their chosen skills,

“Rayden, Arandur, I know I have not much life left but you must keep a promise for me. Seek out these six ((Tells them all of the parties names)) and warn them that all is even more dangerous and unsafe for them here then when they left. Tell them a new enemy lurks, she who we freed, as we are the only ones who know the truth of it. No I will not tell you her name as to hopefully keep you safe on your journey. Now go for they will be returning in two weeks back to the fortress Craggian Core and you must be there when the sky battle is complete. “ With a last smile and a goodbye Talca died.

Wasting no time the two readied said goodbye to family and were on the road to the mighty human fortress. After a month of mostly safe journey they were now here at the north gates to the human fortress steeling themselves to enter and seek the six named.
