GAME STARTED!

The game has now officially started. I will update on Fridays, but I will wait if some of you haven't posted by next Friday. I mean that I will be flexible this week, but only this week.

So yeah, I planted you all in Milan. More precisely, in a train on your way from Milan to Zürich. This is your opportunity to make a good intro post, but something you should keep in mind when you make your post is

1) why you are in Milan,
2) why you are going to Zürich,
3) how you got into the train with your weapons, and
4) what you did with the things you couldn't carry with you into the train.

Drakar's character is still being worked on, so until the character is finished Drakar can't post in the game at all. It's not much work that is needed, so he will be joining the fun in no time. At this point, aside from Drakar's character, no mechanical changes will be made to your characters and flavor changes will be kept to complete minimum.

Inn's Terms of Service

Due to an event on the Scion's game thread, I'd like to point this out for you. This is a must read for every single player in this game. If you have not yet read this, I urge you to do so ASAP.

The game hasn't even been 'alive' for a full week, and the moderators found the need to edit two of the posts. I take that as a bad sign. You should note that I like the rules that this Inn asks us to follow, and I do not want any player in my group that breaks them to such extend that the moderators are compelled to delete a portion of their posts.

You players may not feel much shame, but there are lurkers that do. This is not a debate, any player that turns it into a habit to have his posts edited by the moderators will be expelled from the game, if they haven't been banned from the Inn completely.

With that behind us...

I have an idea. A crazy idea, certainly, but hopefully you'll like it.

As I hope you all realize, this Scion game is not to be taken too seriously. We are not clinging to realism here since most of the rules in the book are telling you that realism does not belong in Scion. It is a game of actually becoming a God, with a capital G. This is a game of fun, not realism.

And hopefully to make it more fun, and to keep this thread a little livelier, I am suggesting a little side-game. I'd like to call this game "the Quoting-Game".

So what is the Quoting-Game? That is a game where you add to your post a quote, the other players guess who is being quoted and the first one to guess correctly gets a bonus XP. If no one guesses the correct answer, the one who did the quoting gets the bonus XP. There are of course few rules.
1) The quote must be obvious in your post. Bold, Italic, I don't really care how as long as it is obvious.
2) You can only quote once for the game between updates. Excessive quoting is always fun, but will not be rewarded. Once your quote is out, the other have until your next post to answer. If no one does, the bonus XP is yours.
3) Checking websites, like the Quotation Page, for the answer is obviously cheating, but it is not like I can stop you
4) Quotes must be accurate (although not in spelling) but should at the same time fitting to the rest of your post. This is more like a friendly suggestion than a rule since the only thing wrong here is bad roleplaying. The quote is still valid.
5) Although not mandatory, I should know where you got your quote from so I know that you did not just take a quote that has been quoted multiple times by others and then switch in order to get that bonus XP. This is not to say that I don't trust you, but this can also be reversed on you when the other players accuse you of cheating like that.
6) The quote needs to be an actual quote. Although it may be several sentences, quoting things like "no problem" or "GET DOWN!" doesn't really count for this game. "Yippie Kay Yay, motherf%&#" is a good one though.
7) Last one. I don't expect you to spell it correctly, but the quotes must be recognizable when read. Like my quoting of Bruce Willis, it is not accurate but I would count as valid.

So of course, there is no need for you to quote every single time, that may even turn out to be a stupid idea. But if you have a good idea, and want the extra XP for the fun of it, you should do so.
Tell me what you think.

Like.. Shakespear quotes and s***?

Yes

You can quote anything, as long as it is reasonable for the other players to know the answer. You can even quote Bill Clinton if you like. It does not just have to be a movie, a song, a book or a tv-show. But every single player must reasonably be able to guess the answer. I know four of you are Icelanders (not counting myself) but since Drakar is not from Iceland, you can't quote Icelandic politicians or the like.

If you do quote a book, either the author or the name of the book is an acceptable answer. In case of movies or tv-shows, the character is an acceptable answer (if the character is well known), as well as the tv-show itself. In case of a song, the name of the song or the band counts as the correct answer.

Of course, the more you know about the quote allows you to show off all the more
Those quoting should know every possible answer that is a correct one. Much like the quoting itself, don't give a wrong answer just because of a spelling error.

Update

Perceptive players may notice that I updated the Scion game. I did. And with that behind us, I'd like to get down to business.

First of all, this one is pointed to weekend. It seems you have misunderstood how Gods' Honest works. First, you need to show a sign of swearing to tell the truth. Hand on bible, hand over the heart or the like. Second, this will cost you a point of Legend, something that is completely useless in an intro post (no Legend is spent in an intro post so don't push it). Thirdly, even if he believed that you had forgotten your ticket at home that does not give you a 'free' access to the train. If you are without a ticked, regardless of if you have forgotten it somewhere, you are not allowed on the train. So for now I am assuming that you paid him off or bought a ticket before entering.

Second, because I am not going to rush you to post anything (I know weekend has a problem with computer access) for this Friday as I planned, I am extending your deadline to Saturday/Sunday. After that, I will start updating this game every Friday (barring any trouble of course).

Until then, have fun

EDIT: Oh, and you may notice that I gave Solon one more XP than the rest of you. This is not because I am favoring him over the rest of you or because he made a superior post than you (since he obviously did not), but I gave him an extra XP because he is unarmed and unarmored in the train. He is unable to summon his Relics, and has left them at home (which I am not sure where is but it is not in the train). In so doing, he has willingly put himself in more danger than the rest of you and I feel that should be rewarded with an extra XP.

Positions

Position came up as a problem. There are five brutes, the leading one stands close to the girl near the front of the cart, the last one stands in the back of the cart and the other three stand somewhere in between with some space between them.
I assume that you can't get from leader to backer in less than a dash. These are the positions of the brutes. They are Extras, so feel free to be cool

Clearing things up

Just want to clear things up before we start having a problem. GT just knocked the brute away but he is still a target of Shounin's attack. Nothing really changes unless Shounin decides to edit his post (which is not needed). The only thing that changed is the brute's position and Shounin can still cut him in twain. The brute is assumed to be well enough to stand in his feet, although barely, until hit by Shounin.

This is to make sure that even if someone with Opening Gambit attacks someone who 'has been' attacked by another player, the one who posted first still gets to hit his target and gets the honor of the kill/knock out.

Another note, I am allowing GT to cancel his Opening Gambit after I have updated if Shounin changes his action. But you should note that I will only allow it under certain circumstance, if I will allow it again at all. Later uses of OG will cost you the Legend point after I have updated.

Yee be warned!

Relic Houserule

I have been giving this a great deal of thought this past day and I have been wondering to myself if it was a smart move to allow the Relic capping to increase the same way as Attributes.

As the houserule is now, the number of dots you can have in Relic is capped at 5 or equal to your Legend rating, which ever is higher (so at Legend 7 it is capped at 7). Obviously, this can make a very powerful Relic when you've reached Legend 12, at which point you could cut through thick steel or shoot a fly across the three Worlds (you're in the Overworld shooting flies in the Underworld). Obviously, that makes a very epic weaponry.

On the other hand, that also makes you way too powerful for comfort. It also makes you rely too much on you weapons. When things get tough, "Don't worry, my sword turned Manhattan into rubble, Fenris won't be a problem." When things get easy, "My sword leveled Manhattan to the ground, I'll just cut through this army of zombies in one swing." The power you have, the more work I get in making any reasonable challenge for you.
I want you to be fighting Titans for hours (game time), not mere seconds. Where's the epic struggle when you can cut through Surtr without pausing on your way passed him?

We still have several chapters before you can even dream of getting a 6+ dot Relic, so there is no need for us to come to a final conclusion right now, but I would really want to know your opinion on this. I don't want to give you everything on a silver-platter (and trust me, I won't), but I do want you to have a say in this.

The update

After every combat round I will post the statistics in the OOC bit. In the future, I will have it a bit more simplified though.

If you for some reason don't post in time, I will base your action on your Virtues like I did with Drakar's character last night. In his case, I rolled his Valor and got 3 successes and so I made him attack.

May have noticed that I will not dish out XP for every post like I have done in my other two games (that actually lived). I think you will get enough XP without me doing that.

Stunt Rewards:
1SB: 1 Leg
2SB: 2 Leg + 1 Willpower/1 XP
3SB: 3 Leg + 1 Willpower + 1 XP
Note: Does not increase beyond normal limit

Well...

As you possibly know, damage is not rolled against Extras. You should also know that you did do damage, just not a lot of it

I'm not gonna give up soak or DV, but your Attack successes that I give up have the opponent's DV subtracted from them. If this did not make much sense, let me know

Oh...

I just forgot to add in your Epic Int. Since language is more of a plot device than actual stat, you can add in the languages that you like, but there is really no reason to fill up your language slots. If it fits your character you can and perhaps should, but if it doesn't fit your character you should think about it.
