encumbrance

No, no encumbrance unless like you said it gets rediculous.

Don't worry

If you miss a few posts, do not worry about it. I understand real life and thats part of the reason posting on a forum is actually a good idea for a bunch of working stiff's like us. Just post whenever you get a chance. Not everyone will post before I put in a new section or something is decided. You CAN backpost if you want as well, then catch up in your post also..

For instance if I were to just now start posting after the second post. I would put the first portion before the journey started, then just continue on with my post and add in to the second.

I am not saying I want people to miss posts of course, I am just saying I understand real life and at all times that takes priority over gaming.

Greek Fire (oil)

I am VERY VERY picky on how this stuff is used. I see quite a few people have put it into thier backpacks. Just remember I consider it VERY fragile and volitile.

Stuff

OK Trip you can remove that fire oil from my guy then. Add some silk rope, a nice cloak and some nice boots if I am not considered to have them already.

Arrived at Orlane

I think we need to send a couple characters high on charisma to talk to the man who was outside. Maybe send the rest of the people to scount the area in smaller groups.

Bullets

I'll only carry 100 in the hip pouch, and the others will stay wrapped together in my backpack.

I'll reload after every melee to 100 in my hip pouch.

Two daggers will stay on my person and two will be in the pack and will be pulled to replace broken daggers.

Agreed with Wretch

Definitely need to find out from the man what is up. Maybe we do as Wretch says, maybe have the group split up, but be close just in case something is up in that barn...

Maybe a Paladin and another person who could be trusted...

Discretion

Clearly these villagers must be a sheltered lot if they have never seen a travelling circus troupe like this one before. Admit it, you guys are pretty weird looking...

I think the key is to find the last farmer to disappear and investigate his property. His trail will be the most fresh. Perhaps see if there's a pattern behind the disappearances.

I think splitting up is a fine idea. I, for one, don't think it's a great idea to go harassing the villagers and raising suspicion OR bringing up our buddy Balarok. Perhaps a little tact is in order. They might be more receptive if they think we are merchants, possibly even farmers looking to buy property. In many places, "adventurer" is code for "scoundrel".

I think Deathstalker will cruise to the East end of town along the main road and look for weird signs, overgrown crops, abandoned buildings, etc., unless there are any objections. Any and all are welcome to join.

...Also, anyone else curious about building 21 in the NE corner? That seems somewhat significant.

Darque

Sorry for replying so late. It's been one of those weeks. I'm cool with Darque being the spokesperson.

As far as marching order goes, I'm fine with being up front. Doogan is a tank. Also, Elkin (Hombre's Dwarven Cleric) wasn't in the marching order. I'd say putting him in the middle of the group would probably be best.

Gunther will greet the farmer at the barn on the left

Okay Guys & especially Trip

Need a little help here on when we go ahead and post our movements at An Evil in Orlane thread, but this is what Gunther will do!

Gunther will go greet the farmer at the barn with his weapons sheathed, but will be carrying his shield in case a surprise attack rushes from the barn or beyond.

Gunther will have his right hand free from holding a weapon so he can approach the farmer peacefully to either shake hands or raise his arm in a friendly greeting and when he positions himself in front of the farmer in direct line with the barn Gunther can utilize his 60' evil detection ability to scan the area.

If evil is detected Gunther can sound an alarm with his Elvish tongue to alert Kyuss Crimsonmoon the Elf Ranger who can quickly alert the others!

I think it is important that a human talk to the farmer to set him at ease and a conversation stating our interest to make possible investments in the area, plus our connection with the merchant who organized our party would also be in order to promote an appearance of good will.

We can leave the young lady to the house on the right free of any worry that we are tramping our way over to her house, because the farmer will obviously send word to his neighbors what the strangers are doing in town.

That is if he is truly just an ordinary farmer and not some illusion from an evil source!

Gunther has 2 younger brothers and a sister so he would obviously be inclined to set the farmer at ease with what appears to be his family in the house.

Gunther can always catch up with the rest of the group or agree to meet at a certain place after conversing with the farmer and my Paladin will respectfully decline staying for dinner so as not to be separated too far or too long from the rest of the party members!

What say ye comrades at arms and Darque?

Question about Italics

The last time I posted on the An Evil in Orlane thread I intended for the last paragraph to be in Italics!

Was not able to figure out how to get that accomplished and all the File, Edit and View areas at the top of my page above the stars for Favorites did not show anything for making lettering Bold or Italics!

Any answers out there?

Yeah Deathstalker

Gunther is also curious about the suspicious structure in the NorthEast corner #21 building!

If things check out at farmhouse/barn #4 then I want to proceed to the left/North over the bridge to #25 where the wooded area would be West/to the left of building #25

Not sure about going all the way North to #24 on the road to the Farms, but would turn right/East at building #23 and follow the road around the lake past building #22 to #20 to #19 where I could meet up with whoever else to investigate #21 in the NorthEast Corner of the map!

Whoever wants to join me and who Darque would agree to have come with me are more than welcome to come with me to help me draw the evil out from hiding!

Another Applaud for Trip ...

... for getting the party to Orlane so quickly! Not sure if it registered on your Karma rating or not Trip!

The Game is Afoot as Sherlock would say! Or was that Watson?

Be Cool....

Understand these people are going through a difficult time at the moment, so their suspicion of strangers is warranted. Also, Garrus is right, no one through around such words as adventurer, thief, or wizard--farm people are a jittery lot.

Also, I would not suggest that anyone go out alone. There are more than enough party members to group together by 2 or 3. People are disappearing from this village, so we know something is afoot and there is safety in numbers.

Ancient One's idea is a great one too. Look for signs of abandonment or even forced entry on the houses. Once we get a clue to who/what is missing then perhaps our Rangers can point us in the right direction.
