In the cellar

Lets have Sentinel continue to post. It is working well and as the "searcher" he is in the best position to do so.

However, I want another light source. DeathStalkers lantern is great - or oriel has torches. But he can't use a bow and hold a torch.

I do think we should get the group together before we do anything more. We have no got a slight warning of danger - now is not the time to be dividing the group.

So, lets get the others down here - maybe leaving one person at the top of the stairs. Then with two lights Sentinel goes in to search - with Gunther holding the torch? That would mean they both go in. If Oriel is sniffing - he might need to go in as well- depending on if he can point the way from the stairs.

Group 1 Yeah Gunther should ...

..... proceed with Sentinel because of the 10 foot protection aura that emanates from Gunther and also protects anyone in that radius also!

Small will post today - later

all together in basement - after quick check out back door by the "uper" group - one will post at top of stairs with bow watching mostly our backs and any entry above - thief and smeller will lead together searching smelling, with torch or two held by others with weapon - all will search visually, but led by thief, smeller .......
get ready to rumble .......

OK?

also ....... hope both groups can post today to take advantage of Tue day off for Trip ...(at east I think he said tue was day off)

Post away

Oriel is ok with the plan.

If Oriel is holding a torch - he will have his sword drawn. If he is not holding a torch he will be holding his bow - with an arrow nocked.

Be sure to specify who is holding light sources - perhaps Deathstalkers lantern.

I think people who have rodents as pets are a bit creepy. I am for fanning out in a semi circle type formation. I will cover the left flank with concealed daggers ready to be thrown at a moments notice.

Hermit

I'm sensing this man is either a wizard or a druid. The weasel as a familiar or friend is my indicator. I will make a post asking him a few questions, but want to get some other ideas from the group. The questions I have in mind are:

1. Do you know of the troubles with the townspeople?
2. Have you noticed a change over the past few months?
3. I see you have a pet, have you noticed a change with
any of the animals lately?

If he opens up a bit and I see a friendly reaction window there, I will probably proceed with further questions.

4. The innkeeper doesn't seem to fond of you, do you two
have a history?
5. Know anything about the mayor of this town?
6. What can you tell me about the temple and the priests?
7. Do you know any of the people that have left town and
returned?

Anything else you guys can think of?

Questions 4 the hermit..

The only other question I can think of is why he chooses to live amongst the trees and not in town.

I doubt he say's much. from the initial meeting he will probably have to be won over before he talks much. the questions sound good to me but if he won't respond i have a suggestion for our druid, it could be risky but don't you have some kind of animal friendship or charm. if you can win over the weasel you will probably win him over too. as stated i will watch for him casting a spell but i will leave the posting for our leader unless you want me to state my intentions myself.

Da Weasel

I have a charm animal spell, but it has a 1 round casting time as well as a few other stipulations attached to it that would make it a bad idea. If this man is a wizard, the spell will be useless if this is his familiar. Second, if he is a druid or retired ranger, then we should not have a problem warming up to him. I'm hoping my high charisma will get us a favorable reaction and we can just question him. Unless he is evil, then we will have to break out da clamps!

Keeping Watch

I'm okay to have DS hold the lantern and wait at the top of the staircase to keep vigil. Plan sounds good to me.

If you guys have a light you're certainly welcome to take the lantern downstairs while you look around.

High charisma here myself, and will try to contain my outward uneasiness about the old guy. Will have the daggers out of sight but ready to throw also. I doubt he will do anything in a position of being outnumbered like this, so I doubt we do anything.

I can't think of any other questions unless there is something we can glean from him about his knowledge of the temple.

I'll be on the other flank of Stings so maybe between the 'crossfire' we can get a hit in on him if needed. Since I'm a halfling thief maybe someone can cover my flanks?

Sentinel The Small begs .....

OK, OK, I give. How can I create italics on this site? How do I get an avatar loaded? (Was working on trying to figure this out until that Doogan stold my internet weapon and took it to some other world.)

Italics and Avatar

You an do italics by placing i between < > to start the post and then /i between < > to close it.

For the avatar, scroll down and click view/edit your profile (blue link at bottom of page). It will take you to your profile information, then click on edit user profile. Find the Avatar box and pick one out. They have halflings on there, but I didn't bother to look and see if any were decent or not.
