"I agree, we must head to Sandpoint, it is imperative that the townsfolk know." Aust replies.
Aside to Farlanh, Aust mumbles, " Wanna race back?"

Still wary that other travelers may wander near by, Aust makes a quick sweep of the area.
Still clear.
He joins his cousin and whispers that he is ready to head out.
The two wait for Sarlana to ready herself to continue northward.

Topic: Aust's Journey - A Side Adventure Subject: Hesitation
As Farlanh and Aust look for the opportune moment to sneak away, a great hesitation comes over Aust. What will come of Sarlanna? Though she may be fine, that is not a certainty.
Getting Farlanh's attention, Aust quietly asked Farlanh what he thinks would be best. It would be a bit shameless to leave their comrade to fend for herself.
"Should we try to wait this out?," Aust whispers.

Hearing Farlanh's bird call, I recognize his plan. Checking out the two scout parties nearby, I wait for the opportunity to move.
As the clumsy creatures move about, it is not hard to cover my movement towards my cousin.
(Move Silent - Natural 20!, total 28 )
As I reach Farlanh, we quietly discuss our options. I ask if Sarlanna will be able to look after herself and suggest we slip away through the woods, circling around back to the road.
I point Farlanh in the best direction, as i make sure both of our steps are well concealed. ...back to Sandpoint.

As the Goblins scouts approach, Aust begins to slowly back away.
Assuming his cousin will do the same, he begins to look for a path around to get ahead of the mob....the others must know, the town must know.

(I can speak Goblinoid).
Aust readies his bow while listening into the Goblins' conversation. With the large numbers, he hopes they don't get into a dispute.
Patiently he waits and remains concealed.

A bit disappointed, but not surprised by his foiled plans, he eagerly recovers his rope. A grin comes across his face knowing the others guessed his intentions.
'Better luck next time' - he thinks to himself.
"Right-O, let's go!" Aust proclaims aloud. He reflects on the grace and wisdom that Sarlana carries. This should be a good journey.

"Oh my good cousin Farlanh, I never was good at pulling wool over your eyes. You've called my bluff. Good to see you again Sarlena." Aust says in Elven as he leaves his cover in the woods.
"I just had to get out in the woods for a bit, to see what is happening. What brings you up this way?"
Conscious that the two are edging closer to the well concealed rope trap which crosses the road, Aust walks to meet them at a point past the trap.

As the two travelers get closer, Aust notices a slight change in the demeanor of the pair. It is hardly possible that they could have noticed him, yet this is his cousin who has always been hard to hide from, and he was shifting position just before Farlanh reached for his staff.
Aust decides that they may have seen him, but he bets that the rope-trap is still unnoticed. He decides to distract the two from the would-be snare by bellowing out an an intimating yell in Common, "You are vastly outnumbered, lay down your arms and we may have pity on you."
Aust giggles to himself, hoping they fall for the bluff (11+2 = 13 bluff).

Topic: Aust's Journey - A Side Adventure Subject: Someone's Coming
As Aust enjoys the freedom to roam, his hunter instinct suddenly compels him to find cover. Although his trackless step abilities make him hard to follow, Aust gets the sense that someone, or something, is after him. Could it be servants of the Nobel whose Auroch he killed in this region just a few weeks prior?
Finding a great post that allows him to see down the road clearings, while also near a quick exit route down through some rocks toward the cliffs of Sandpoint, he waits for his would be pursuer.
Though the moments are tense, it is somehow peaceful. Many times Aust has laid in wait for a prey, only this time his prey is also after him. Out here is his turf, he feels at home.
Within the hour a great surprise emerges. It is his cousin Farlanh and Sarlana coming up the road. "Wow, I've got to screw with him," Aust says to himself.
Quickly Aust grabs his rope and runs ahead just a bit. He then sets a trap across the road to ensnare his cousin.
Again Aust waits. Only a few more moments. Anticipation doubles the excitement.

Topic: Aust's Journey - A Side Adventure Subject: At Sandpoint
Wandering through the streets of Sandpoint, Aust examines his equipment and weapons realizing he needs to replenish his arrows and rations.
After a short visit to the weapon shop, he decides enough with the hustle and goes for a stroll along the Turandarok River. Feeling a little more at home near the forest his ears lift to the distant call of an Auroch. Quickly his mind races to his not-so-distant encounter with a local Noble, or rather, one of his Auroch.
Without realizing it, Aust finds himself in the North part of Sandpoint at the corners of Church and Comb Streets. Curiosity grabs him wondering if he could snag another beast from the Noble's land, or at least have another look around the expansive property for other creatures.
He heads North, up the Lost Coast Road.
