Topic: Duel II AD&D Thread
Subject: Darque,

Your post was good by me and I'm with the group. Haiden heads to the temple.

Can you save me some time Trip and just have me go with them...

Subject: Group 2 and the Hermit

Haiden tried her best to hide how uneasy she was of a hermit with vermin on him. How is it possible for a living creature to have such an animal on him? Listening to what Valerus was saying she kept an 'at-ease' position beside him, carefully watching the Hermit he reacted to Valerus had to say.

Haiden keeps calm and prepares to react to anything that comes about. Weapons are not out or seen, but daggers are ready to be thrown if attacked. She will smile and listen intently without moving toward any weapons.

High charisma here myself, and will try to contain my outward uneasiness about the old guy. Will have the daggers out of sight but ready to throw also. I doubt he will do anything in a position of being outnumbered like this, so I doubt we do anything.

I can't think of any other questions unless there is something we can glean from him about his knowledge of the temple.

I'll be on the other flank of Stings so maybe between the 'crossfire' we can get a hit in on him if needed. Since I'm a halfling thief maybe someone can cover my flanks?

I am with you too... lets head over there and see what we can spot. We may want to get a marching order set up if there is a path we have to take. I'll be posting later since I'm in the middle of returning home from an out-of-towner.

Topic: An Evil in Orlane
Subject: Haiden intently watches

Severus' motions to the innkeeper were noticed when Stings made a move away from the table and started to go toward a young boy she'd not noticed until that moment. Still unfamiliar with everyone and how they acted in situations she made a point to watch Stings and what was happening around him.

He walked up to a young boy who seemed unnerved about something, maybe Stings approach? Whatever reason, Haiden's hairs on the back of her neck started to tingle with anticipation of something happening with a guardian or carekeeper of the child. Scanning the room, she waited in her seat for something to happen, good or bad.

Haiden watches the table the boy is at, and scans around the area to see if anyone is watching Stings as he places his hand on the child's shoulder. If anyone makes a move with a weapon toward Stings she will get up and try to sneak around to the advancer and prepare to sneak attack if needed, but would rather stand down unless a weapon is brandished and swung toward Stings. Great restraint will be used until an attack is given toward Stings. If no attack comes she will continue to sit there and watch the situation.

I'll keep an eye on you and the boy and put it as odd how you got up and walked over there and then anticipate something happening as the boy turns around. Not sure if there are others in the inn that are watching the boy; for whatever reason.

Posted in there and bristled for any attack toward Stings, but will not attack an advancer unless Stings is attacked. Sorry, but I can't just attack without knowing it's in defense of a mate in the game. Hopefully I notice a weapon if an attack is made, or else I'll probably see you fall and not know for sure what is going on.

I'm on board with the plan with Stings finding out what he can from the child, securing rooms for everyone while he's doing that, then go to the trees and find the old man. From there we can head toward the temple to see what is up. Of course that is if we have enough time in the day.

I'm still good with Darque being a main spokesperson for our group.

As it goes, I think we can hypothesize from previous conversations the first group was heading to the mayors residence and should start that way post-haste.

Lets get this figured out so we can start the crawling.

I haven't played in over 20 years, and I'm enjoying this even at the slow crawl. Whatever is necessary, Trip.

We courteously say hello to the lady on the porch and at least inquire about rooms for everyone at the inn for the night; at the very least our group. Yes, introductions are in order with the newest member of the party too.

I'd almost think we go over some of the same questions that Gunther asked the old man (from the perspective of what we were told from the meeting) and think of some different things to ask. I'll be brainstorming throughout the day to come up with some doozies.

As it comes for Haiden she'll just stand back and look happy but be leery of her surroundings. Any of you 'bigger' guys can do the talking.

Subject: Haidens view on the journey to the temple

Haiden was a little suspicious of the farmer's words as described by Gunther. Could the farmer be hiding what he knows for fear, or was it a genuine lack of knowledge on the farmer's part? Either way it did not matter to the task at hand.

She gathered with Kyuss and the other members of the group she was assigned to and started to walk with them, cautiously looking at her surroundings to see if there was anything out of the ordinary, and masking her concern whenever a townsfolk would look at them. Walking with all her weapons secured was a hard thing to do in this new environment, but she continued to walk normally, and tried to restrain from reaching to a weapon whenever anyone walked around the group.

Haiden follows the group in formation, being friendly to all townsfolk and looks for anything out of the ordinary.

But I believe the temple might be the best place for getting any information, positive or negative.

If it's a place of good priests then we might get their thoughts on what is happening here, and if they are bad priests we might be fighting soon.

The inn would be a secondary concern since it seems we're in the morning time and securing rooms this early might seem a little 'off.'

Which anniversary of your 29th b'day are we celebrating? I'd bet more than 29 of 'em.

Seriously, I'm with Darque and Trip. Never playing this campaign, I want to find it all new and exciting. If my character gets killed along the way then so be it. Part of playing the game.

Subject: Haiden stays behind

Haiden was curious to why so many of the females had run inside of their housing. *Is there something here for a woman to be afraid of? If so I'm going to do something about it*. But she wouldn'd do anything personally right now since Gunther and others had started their trek to the farmer to inquire of what was going on in Orlane.

So Haiden stayed behind with the remainder of the party with her weapons sheathed and hidden and began to scan the horizon around the party for anything that seemed out of the ordinary.

Haiden listens for uncommon noises while waiting for the return of Group 1, and will go with her group if requested.

Definitely need to find out from the man what is up. Maybe we do as Wretch says, maybe have the group split up, but be close just in case something is up in that barn...

Maybe a Paladin and another person who could be trusted...

I'll only carry 100 in the hip pouch, and the others will stay wrapped together in my backpack.

I'll reload after every melee to 100 in my hip pouch.

Two daggers will stay on my person and two will be in the pack and will be pulled to replace broken daggers.

Can I just tell you I want to buy an extra two hundred bullets for the quest? Or do you want a formal line on the quest.

Also, tell me the cost in gold since I can't find it anywhere (probably under my nose) and I'll adjust the cost from the 30 GP.

Thanks Trip!

...was to state I wanted to pick them up after any melee. Until I hear differently from Trip I will state this. I bet though that any bullets from my sling will be lost, but this would be nice to find out if they could be found around bodies. Makes the trip cheaper, and then I woudn't have to get an extra 100 bullets just in case.
