Topic: Audalis: Tides of War Q/A
Subject: If I may help you out a bit...

The whole confrontation with the Ghost... It's all a day dream. He imagines it after he drinks his ale and then is snapped out of that state when Flirty's character taps him on the shoulder.

We spoke about this earlier so I'm sure that was his intention.

Plus. Finished my post! I hope you like it. Tell me what you think! I added a bit more back story so hope you enjoy that.

But about my money, as you can see... he's a humble guy... so I don't see him carrying around 56 platinum pieces or even 1000 gold pieces. So if you could put like a common amount of money and just leave it at that for my total money. That's awesome !

Thanks.

Map looks pretty bad-a.

I'm getting so excited. I thought there weren't going to be a lot of mages, but looks like I'll have my own mage posse around
And then I remembered I'm a sorc . It'll be interesting how my character will interact with mages though. Hrm...

And question about the map... What are those fancy circles around the main land?

Haha. Um. Mages and Sorcerers have always been my favourite. I was always that kid when I was little that would just reach out and try to grab that carton of milk that was three metres away or make that cup in the cupboard magically appear in front of you.

Magic's just always attracted me. Plus... Who doesn't want to creep out fellow group members with random illusion spells?

Ulfgar's still at the bar.

In between the lovers and the bar... Just sipping that good old ale.

This whole thing is just one massive illusion. You're not actually in an inn... You didn't meet that lovely Darli of yours... You're actually kissing an Ogre... Yes an ogre... And everyone... isn't actually real. I've just made hundreds and hundreds of accounts on this website... In fact... This website is just an illusion! You're actually dreaming that you're yourself (the person behind Spider) but you actually are Spider... and you're thinking of this as an escape to the reality of you (Spider) kissing an ogre...

How's that for an illusion!

Topic: The Return of the Prodigal Son
Subject: The elves ARE invading...

Still sipping his ale, he awaited the two elves to come back and tell him what was on the poster. However, when he was about half way done with his first mug he heard the elves speak; the problem was, these words were not directed towards him.

"Master Barkeep," the female elf begins politely, "I understand you have list to put names on of those who are interested in this matter. Add the name of Amiri Moondancer to it please. I will..."

Her voice trailed off. Typical elf, Ulfgar thought. Smirking a little, he tried to ignore what had happened and kept drinking his ale.

He was used to being excluded when he was with company. Who wants to help the poor, street performer? He shook his head and kept smirking.

"Barkeep," Ulfgar called and motioned the man closer, "Can I have another drink?" Upon receiving his ale, he gave his thanks, slipping the bartender an extra coin. Just before he took his sip, he heard footsteps slowly approach him from behind. Ulfgar's hands began to fill with fire underneath his cloak.

“I’ve been listening to you,” a man grinned mischievously as he reached their table, his golden eyes darting from face to face, “and if what I’m hearing means what I think, ladies and gents, you’re apt to require my services.

Now, my real name’s probably not the wisest thing to know in some company, but most folks call me Spider.”

"Spider eh?" Ulfgar laughed at his own foolishness, the man looked harmless enough. "Not much of a name for a-"

“Sorry to interrupt, but I believe you ordered a pint?” A female elf motioned toward the man known as Spider

Spider turned his head towards the voice and the tell-tale sign of an elf came into view: the pointed ear. Another bloody elf. They really are invading! Ulfgar chuckled a bit to himself, turned towards the bar and called the bartender towards him again. "Barkeep, I hear that I need to give you my name if I'm interested. The name's Ulfgar Machin. I'd love to help with these beggar disappearances. I need a little change around here."

Ulfgar smirked again, his trademark pose, and went back to sipping his ale.

Sweetness. I'll check it out pretty soon.

But for spells, there's a whole list of them that I found some where on a *.pdf file. I'll upload it if anyone wants it, but I don't know exactly where I found it, but it has like all the spell descriptions and stuff.

Sweet. Thanks Getting excited.

Ulfgar grabs some ale and waits for the two elves (or so he thinks) to come back and tell him what they read on the poster

Ulfgar is ready to commit for the adventure

OOT: (I assume that means out of character?) I don't really have much action to do here I think. So I'll just leave it like that for now!

All right, just edited my post. Sorry, saw you said something about "old and new" and thought you meant from ANYWHERE.

But a pretty sweet wizard sounds pretty cool. Maybe a sorc. I like my spell casters .

I'll work on a character sheet, but that's what I have in mind.

I'll check up on the tab.

Subject: Shotgun!

Hey can I have dibs on a spot just before I make my post?

Okay. Here's my post:

The shadowed figure hurried inside the Iron Boar pub to escape the cold, onslaught of rain. Already drenched with water, the traveller was dripping, creating a track of water as he walked into the pub. The trail of water was slowly disappeared, evaporating off the cold stone floor as the traveller walked farther. He chose a seat near the far corner of the pub and began to settle himself. He shook out his clothes and took his belongings out of his bag to check if they were ruined. His eyes darted around the room, making sure no one was looking.

He took a book, wrinkled, creased, and folded, out of his bag. Slowly placing it on the table, he carefully turned the brittle pages of the rune covered tome. He fell back in his chair and let out a sigh. He was greatly relieved that his precious spell book, one that was passed down from generations, was not damaged by the rain. The man quickly glanced across the room and carefully put the book back in his bag.

Bugsy finally took a more concerned look at the newcomer sitting in the empty corner of his pub. The large bartender knew well from his decades of work at the bar that this was no ordinary man, despite his common appearance. The man was hidden underneath his clothes; his face was covered under the shadow of his hat, hiding all of his features. But it was his figure that told the most part of the traveller’s story; he was an elf. His short, thin figure stood out from the short, broader body of the other humans of this area. Elves would only come to human territory for special reasons. The bartender knew he was here for something more than just a drink.

The bartender walked over to the traveller. He saw as he came closer to the elf how small he really was. The elf acted nervously as the large bartender came closer; his eyes darted around the room looking for the closest escape route. But the bartender looked at the elf, smiled warmly and said, “I think you’d be more welcome upstairs. I know who you are, come. What is your name,
sylvas?”

The elf jumped, surprised that a human knew the tongue of his people. He began to act a little more calmly, “My name is Ilya Amakiir. You are right in your assumption of what I am, but I feel that you have missed much in your assumption,” he said cooly, “For there is much more than meets the eye, Bugsy.” Ilya smirked as the human stood in awe at his knowledge. The elf said quietly, “Take me upstairs. I feel that I’d be more comfortable there.”

Topic: The Return of the Prodigal Son
Subject: Ulfgar Machin

"Same ol', same ol'," Ulfgar whispered to himself as he entered the Tavern. He'd been to this city before, nothing looked too different; the buildings were dark and unwelcoming at this time of night, and there was that smell, that same smell that seemed to encompass every Tavern he visited. "Disgusting. You'd think these people would want a little more class," he muttered. He carried his bag and walked toward his usual corner of the inn. Watching his footsteps as to not step into too many questionable things, he looked up as he neared the corner and noticed an unfamiliar elf in the corner. "No class I tell you this place," he sighed, he'd have to find a better venue to perform. "It's half empty anyway".

He dragged his belongings outside, carefully placing himself on a rug just outside the inn and started to set up for his act. Ulfgar's eyes wandered across the street, there were so many things he didn't recognise: posters on the walls, people in the inn...

"Hey isn't that Firedancer?" somebody yelled. Ulfgar's eyes rolled and he, almost grudgingly, began his act. "Let's hope I get enough to eat this time," he chanted in draconic; the bystanders of course knew no better and thought he was casting a spell. Fire burst out of his palm, and Ulfgar began to handle it like one would handle the cool, slimy mud on a river bank.

He was used to the crowd that had surrounded him as he fondled with the fire, in fact, he expected it. The bystanders gazed with eager eyes as the flames danced across Ulfgar's finger tips. A few of the watchers even asked if it was real; Ulfgar expected these naive questions, they were always asked. The thin mage was beginning to get bored with his repetitive acts, he didn't want to be making money off of tricks anymore. He wanted something more.

"I've got to use this magic for something other than this," he sighed in draconic. The fire vanished from his fingers as he finished his spell. The crowd applauded, as usual. Ulfgar got up and slowly went around the circle with a mug asking for tips. When he thought he had taken enough money from the crowd, he went inside again to the bartender and ordered some food for his trip to the next town.

However, he noticed two faces he didn't recognise from the last trip, both elven of some sort. "Seems like the elves are invading," he mumbled, again in draconic.

But he heard the two talking about something, a beggar gone missing. Ulfgar's heart jumped a beat, he would be sleeping out on the streets tonight. He'd also known a few of the beggars around town, he'd have to go up and check up on them he thought. He stood up unusually straight. Almost excitedly, he listened in on the couple.

Ulfgar felt a cold hand touch his wrist, he jumped. "Your food sir," the bartender said.

After paying the bartender generously, Ulfgar walked over toward the two elves.

"So what this thing about missing beggars? I'm interested in helping if you need it. So what do you say," then switching to the only elven he knew, "friends?"
