Topic: Warlock Decieve Item Question
Subject: One other thing...

Forgot the main part of my question when posting.

In order to use a scroll or a wand, one needs to roll higher than 20,(20+spell level for wands and scrolls I believe)

So, I assume that "taking 10" in that case would be of no use unless your skill in UMD is above 10, correct?

Subject: Warlock Decieve Item Question

Had a quick question.

I am playing a warlock in a campaign (3.5 rule-set) I was curious about the 4th level feat "Deceive Item"

It allows the warlock to take 10 on a UMD check in any circumstance. Now, is this only really usable if you have more than 10 total points coming from the UMD skill?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the more than likely rookie question...

Topic: Need some help in designing an encounter....
Subject: Need some help in designing an encounter....

Hello all.

I am in the process of designing a horror adventure, and I have wandered into a bit of a snag. In one of the rooms that the party will go into has a male human with chains going through their body. Behind him is a large mirror. While the body is not moving, the reflection is going crazy with pain, shrieking.

Now, what I want to happen is that the mirror will shatter, (either by chance or by the party) and send shards of glass into the human male, animating him in a "crazed" sense. This also has the downside of shattering all the mirrors in the local town, doing the same to the townspeople.

I have checked most of all the books, and I cant find something to match what I want via monster. Any suggestions on how to make this encounter work or (gasp) make it better?

And by the way, glad to be a part of RDInn. Have a couple friends who have shown me here.

Thanks.

~K
