I've heard really good things about Linux myself, and if it supported more video games without having to mess with emulators I'd probably keep a partition on hand. Hope you have a smooth transition and kudos on kicking the Micro$oft habit. It may be tough, especially if you go through withdrawals, but you'll come out healthier at the end. *snicker*

Subject: How I stumbled in.

To be honest I saw a post on a web comic listing about the Inn offering hosting for fantasy/RPG related webcomics and poked my head in to see what things are like over here. After poking around I vaguely remember being here before looking for AD&D information a while ago when I was DMing.

As for why I'm sticking around... all things shall become clear in time... kehehe.

Hehe that's the thing I love about my screen namey, so many potential origins that it leaves people guessing which you mean. There is also Io the moon of Jupiter, and Io one of the many, many woman Zeus decided he'd rather "roll the dice" with than his wife.

There was also Io from the horribly inaccurate Clash of the Titans, but the mythology geek in me tries to forget about that flick.

I know I'm strange for loving 2nd edition still, I had a local group I was playing with that moved on to 4th ed and it felt a little too... strange. Combat was super quick so they compensated by adding more combat and I'm a heavy RP gamer that spends way too long on character back story, inner conflicts, etc. So moving to a fast paced kick the door down type game just didn't feel right to me.

Reading the on-going games right now is rather entertaining I must admit, but I'm not to certain I have the courage yet to jump into a forum based game quite yet. /thanks for the greetings and maybe I'll work up the courage to try a game soon.

Greetings everyone, I am Io, and I just signed up a short while ago. I am an "old" AD&D geek who still prefers 2nd edition, even though I have played 3rd and 4th extensively. I've learned to always play the edition your DM wants or you find yourself without a game, hehe. A web developer by trade, I spend most of my non-gamin time RPing on various forums and drawing web comics and such. I look forward to lurking around.
