I'd probably be the first person to admit I'm a metalhead. My favorite bands are Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, and Tool, but I can also enjoy blues, hard and light rock, indie and punk, and even some classical.

Subject: Just a Simple Job...

It took Aleric a few moments to realize he was being introduced, and he started a little when the fact did dawn on him; his brothers always did tease him for being a little slow. Quickly, he steps up to speak. He was a lean, hawkish young man, with a slender martial artist's build, long blond hair, brown eyes and the facial features that betrayed his lineage; the angularity of a Syl and the hard edges of a human. He wore simple leather armor, a weathered green cloak, and sturdy boots. Two blades hung from his waist; a well-crafted longsword and stout woodcutter's hatchet. When he spoke, it was in a lively tenor, with just a touch of rustic drawl.

"Ah! Well, first, my name's Aleric. Really pleased to meet you, all of you." The boy, for he was little more than a boy, takes a moment to extend handshakes, in a slightly bumbling, but earnest fashion. "Well..." he continues, clearing his throat. "I suppose it's worth mentioning that I'm actually from around these parts. My pa is a lumberjack, a bit out of town... Anyways, point is, I was up in Vanima Romen, in Maelamin, looking for work, and trying to get in touch with the other half of the family, when someone off the council gave me a job. Apparently, a hotshot in this town Nandina, named Soramin Yuolyne, had been pocketing welfare money, and they wanted to pay me to hunt him down. Seemed simple, so I agreed. I fancy myself as a bit of a woodsman, after my pa, so it didn't seem much of a challenge. Anyways, tracked him to his house, but the wife said she hadn't seen him for weeks. Found a lIttle room where he hid the cash, and that's where things started getting disturbing. He had a coffin in there, too, filled with bones, and a little kid chained to the wall."

Aleric pauses, nervously undoing and redoing the blond braid that hung behind his head. "The boy said he was alright, but he'd been there for months. I dunno about you, but I find nothing alright with chaining a little kid to a wall and leaving him there. So I picked up the trail again, followed it to a tavern in Cormlond. He was there, but he suckered me an slipped out. After that, I lost him for a bit, but eventually followed him here."

The young man, finally finished, steps back a bit to let his full-Syl partner do the same.

Ah, yeah, I've been there. Unfortunately, my little brush with guy-who-sounds-the-same-out-as-he-does-in-character was a bit more malicious, but it came to the same conclusion, more or less. We use quarters. Heads for in, tails for out.

... By looking! I'm currently studying abroad in Israel/Palestine, which, for all it's middle-eastern charm, doesn't have much of a D&D community. So, craving the game, I searched for D&D online, almost idly, on the Internet, and HUZZAH! Here I am.

Lots of people have been there; you've got your dice, minis, pens and paper and what have thee, but there's one thing missing, and without it, the game just wouldn't be the same. What's yours?

I have a few. One would be music; for less intense moments, I often turn to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, some stuff from the Runescape setlist, and instrumental Celtic music. For combat, bands like ManOwaR, big, bombastic, sword-and-scorcery metal.

Also, snacks are a must. Cookies(the Chips Ahoy sandwiches are a favorite), chips and salsa(partial to chipotle), Funions, things of that nature. If we're really hungry, we'll order pizza.

But the one thing my games cannot survive without is my lavalamp. My tabletop crew refuses to play without it.

Lotr is always a favorite. I like to go to bands like Firewind, Dragonhammer, and ManOwaR for the more dramatic bits.

That was a fun one! Mine was a half-elf ranger named Aleric, who, in his first iteration, reached level six, and was a total piece of crap, as generated by my then 14-year-old mind, but he gave me a glimpse into a wide adventure-filled world that, at the end of the session, I was loath to leave. Thanks, old buddy.

Howdy, all you dice-juggling, Funion chomping maniacs! This is my first foray into the wonderful world of these online RPG communtities, and to start things off, I think this whole site is redonkulously groovy; you guys seem really friendly and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere projects friendliness, a love of games, gaming, and fun, and high levels of all-around-awesome. Bravo!

My name as you may know it is Aleric, after the collection of numbers and stats that is probably my favorite out of all the characters I've ever rolled, Akeric Stevanson, a 3rd edition half-elf ranger who I've rerolled and reused about a bajillion times. He, and I, love fun, and people, and were both happy to meet y'all.

Recurring villain....

Why'd the DM make you cruel?
Back in our first level,
We all thought that you were cool,
But you brought a band of goblins raiding,
And for us did the mayor send...

Oh, recurring villain, you could have been our friend...

Recurring villain...

Why to evil did you turn?
When we hit level five,
Your back story did we learn
Oh, we know of how they hurt you,
But it still don't make no sense,
Oh recurring villain, you could have been our friend...

Recurring villain...

Now your time has come.
The final fights upon us,
We're all level twenty one.
It was a grand old time, we must admit,
But the story arc must end...

Now that your dead, we must admit it,
Recurring villain, you could have been our friend...
