Feeling the winds pick up, and his joints start to ache, Anthony knew it was about to start raining. "Tor, everyone, we must discuss something, Thanks to the guarded lumber wagon, we know about an upcoming campsite. The problem then becomes the storm. There is another about another hours ride from the first. Shall we stop here or continue to a more sheltered area? I would like to hear everyone's opinions, we all will be sleeping in the same area."

Sir Anthony gave a mental shrug. These guards seemed fine to him...Maybe he was letting his age get to him. Surely there was nothing truly amiss.
'I should slap myself for that.' He thought wryly. Here he was about to fall into the same trap he had warned Tor against. He almost let himself relax around these unknowns. Maybe old age was catching up with him.....
"I thank you for your warning of the potholes. We must be off, may your future travels bring the same luck as this one."
The farewell would seem authentic enough, he had meant most of what he said, but as both groups passed each other, Sir Anthony kept a keen eye on those guards.

Riding forward at a steady pace, Sir Anthony hailed the guards with a simple wave. "Ho, Guardsman. What are the conditions of the roads? Any goblins harass you on your travels?" reaction pending guards response.
Sir Anthony surreptitiously eyed their loads, looking for anything that might stand out. Normally posting this many guards around a simple lumber cart means it's hauling more then lumber. He would keep an eye open just in case.

Following Lady Tor's pace easily, Sir Anthony noticed a well guarded lumber cart. Something began to stir in his stomach, something halfway between worry and honed warrior instinct. Too many oddities had been arising lately for it to sit right with the old knight. Tor dropped back, "why would they guard a lumber shipment?" she hissed under her breath to Sir Anthony. Sparing a quick glance at the cart as they passed, he whispered "I'm not sure, Do Not Under Any Circumstances Let Your Guard Down."

Subject: A wise choice.
Listening in on the conversation was beginning to grate rather heavily on Sir Anthony's nerves. While information was important, the true knowledge was out there with the enemy. When Lady Toralaian approached him, he was unsurprised. Figuring it would be about their new companions they moved to a more secluded area.
"i dont like this, theirs naught we can do the bishops summons seems legit enough. the two clergy seem well enough but i'm not green enough to trust them other then at arms reach just yet.
Jacob seems...interesting." tor paused an cleared her throat "he's unorthodox appearance doesn't seem to fit with his title but Elttom's complete oppositeness seemed to bother me more so."
"I must commend you on your situational alertness. I, too, refuse to trust them based upon some note, and will be keeping a very close eye on the both of them. As for Jacob... there is something very odd about that one. Please be cautious."
Following the others outside after the meal, Sir Anthony bid Fr. Konrad a very short farewell knowing full well the time constraints they were under. One of his old war wounds was aching slightly, just enough to be an annoyance. Rain was coming, they needed to leave soon. Retrieving his horse from the stable boy, Sir Anthony gave the saddle a once over. After praising the lad for getting it right, he mounted and prepared to take rear guard until they split. He was very serious about keeping watch on these new members.

Listening to the removal then replacement of Fr. Konrad, when the man hadn't left yet, was a bit unsettling. Though having been a knight for some time, Anthony was more then used to this...however to trust these two men as if it were nothing...
Being from the church was one thing, but that did nothing to sooth his warrior's instinct. He would watch them for now, making sure nothing odd happened in their wake, especially the one with the eagle, he stood out as a trouble maker for sure. Couldn't even tow the line set at the church he was to represent. How irresponsible.
As for the plan, he saw the since of splitting up, not that he wouldn't worry about the others but they should be relatively safe while the more experienced fighters...and scout, took in the dangers ahead.

Father Konrad's jab was not missed by the knight, he ate his meal in silence pondering a great meny things. Daring to glance a Toralaian, he realized he was nought but a teacher and therefore let his ponderings go. It wouldn't be easy, but nothing worth doing was. He'd rather have his student remain then allow his pride to ruin her trust. Moving on to Father Konrad, he reminded himself that the good Father was no fighter, therefore spent little of his time on horseback. He would need to slow the pace for the two of the party that had little experience with their animals. Releasing a content sigh as he finished his meal, Anthoney said, "I should apologize Father Konrad, and to you callin. I had not considered how this journey would affect you. We shall slow our pace, if Lad...Tor allows. Calling her ladyship by anything but a title had left a strange feeling in his chest and an odd taste in his mouth.
OOC(Hope this doesn't make the words DISTATEFUL CHARACTER RETCON flash on anyones screen. Also hi.)
