Topic: The Lost Mine of Phandelver Q&A Subject: Alright, I figured as much
So I'll have to take a bit to work out a new character... I may just cop out and make pretty much an elven version of Kash, since I've got too many characters swimming around up here to come up with anything more separate... building a backup for a custom campaign as I speak agah. I'll post when I've got the character up

Topic: The Lost Mine of Phandelver Q&A Subject: Yup,
I contacted the DM a few days ago and just got around to transferring the character from paper to docs. Still typing up his physical description and a friend of mine *may* draw him in future.

Topic: The Lost Mine of Phandelver Q&A Subject: I was told to post a link here so uhh yeah
I suppose here's the character I'm proposing. While it's not homebrew, I understand some groups may find a Genasi PC a bit too unconventional. If this is the case, I'm all for rolling a different character. Now as this is copied from an existing character sheet (minus the inventory, he's only got his starter gear obviously) he is level 2. If this is an issue, I'll revert him to his level 1 stats and spells, and erase his XP. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bdiDxYyq8OLa1jvGW0ZwDO1j76WQOWZyQoUpOlGLeWQ/edit?usp=sharing
Fair warning, when he ran through this dungeon previously, he was downed five times... I'm not the best at playing squishies.

Topic: Making my little introduction Subject: Sweet!
Thanks again for all the very friendly welcomes! And as for the Lost Mine, that's actually perfect! My irl party just finished that bit in our session. I suppose I'll play what the DM chooses in this case, since there's already an NPC and I play casters in ways that tend to twist the narrative--illusions to avoid fights, mostly--which I know is undesirable to some DMs.

Topic: Where are you from? Subject: Oh
That seems to have cut out quite a few states... nevermind then.

Topic: Making my little introduction Subject: Fun little coincidence,
I'm actually running that irl at the moment! My DM's on a school schedule, so we've only had one session, but I'm playing a Firesoul Genasi Phoenix sorcerer. Not the most conventional character, but I would be up for either carrying him over or making a new character. I vaguely checked up on the Q&A a few minutes ago, am I correct in assuming the party is currently in the lovely goblinoid cave in basically stage 1 of the adventure?

Topic: Making my little introduction Subject: Depends
I'd certainly be interested in some options, however I've picked up that most of the content here is... exactly the editions I haven't played. I had a brief stint in AD&D, in which my caster carried the party through maybe an hour's worth of content before partywiping VIA accidental rod of fireball. If there's anything I can jump into to just get the general feel of the style here, I may be up for that.

Topic: Making my little introduction Subject: For now,
I'll probably lurking for the most part. I'm on a weekly DMing schedule for my custom setting over Discord with five rowdy players. I'd love to get involved, but as one might assume, I'm a little squished on the gaming front. Still, I'll do my best to at least get involved in whatever else I can get my socially impaired little fingers on.

Ah, yes I got the name from my RP-mates in voice chat saying I yawn like a Goat. I appreciate the lick, it's quite welcoming.

That's certainly reassuring. I'm not often involved with large communities, so I spent a good hour debating on whether I should post or not pfft

Topic: Making my little introduction Subject: Making my little introduction
Well uhh hello, I guess! I found he Inn a few days ago while checking out resources for extra equipment lists/prices. I'm a player of nearly 4 years now, and a DM as of maybe a couple months ago. A wee little one, started with a brief game of 3.5e, attempted 4e but well I'll just say our group doesn't talk about that session anymore. Settled in with 5e as it kinda plays more toward storytelling than overwhelming stats, as I see it. I've been browsing the site and I must say it's lovely to see a nice community like this. I look forward to existing here, I suppose.
