RSS feeds?

I have added an RSS feed to the front page of the site, so that those who prefer to keep up with the site in this manner will get instant updates whenever we add a new article (without having to check the front page, subscribe to an email list, etc).

It would be very little trouble to add similar feeds to the various game threads on the site. We could configure them to, say, display the post titles and authors for the last ten or so posts in any given thread.

Is that something that the membership of the site would be interested in?

I think

I think it might be a good idea for some but I think there are those like me who have no problem figuring out our threads that have updated or that think the last five at top of page is just fine.

I support all updates

Big fan of adding content to the site, and I'm all for it for those that need it, but I frequent the site enough to catch any updates I need, and Im fairly certain anyone serious about their games could catch it too.

That said, good work.

ah, well... what the hey?

It was a cinch to do, since I had the code already.

Each and every forum topic, period, now has its own RSS feed. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there beside the Subscribe/Unsubscribe buttons, you'll see the various RSS lilnk buttons. Each feed contains the ten most recent posts titles, their authors, and the date and time of the post in question.

Just another way to keep abreast of the Inn.

On RSS feeds

I don't really know what it is either, but if it will force my players to acknowledge each update as it comes in, I'm thankful already. ^-^

what is RSS?

RSS feeds are a simple way to keep up with web updates. You can download an RSS reader (also called a "feed reader" or "aggregator") to your desktop (there are plenty of free ones out there). You can also get browser-based readers, and several of the big "start pages" (such as Google and Yahoo) will allow you to add your favorite feeds right to your personalized homepage.

RSS feeds are most often used to keep up with activity on one's favorite blogs, or with news headlines. However, they can be useful for any site that updates fairly frequently; rather than load the site in question to see if there has been an update, you see the update on your desktop (or start page, however you have your own reader set up) pretty much immediately.

It's just another method of keeping up to date.

I'm not sure how to use it. I subscribed to a game, but now what?
