Papers? Papers? do we have Pappers?

Do we have papers. They were never mentioned before. Kyara is not a citizen or of the city or land. She wsa searching for a temporary position to raise enough money to further her search for her brother.

Papers

Papers are not required to simply travel through the area. But when contracts are made (such as between you and the merchant) papers are created and provided to you to keep. They do this so you can prove that you rendered services to the merchant (and for book keeping purposes).

Pathfinder Conversion

Just so you guys know I will be converting all characters for this game over to the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rule set. I'll also be posting the characters on the character thread. The SRD for Pathfinder can be found at www.d20pfsrd.com. This link will give you a number of the changes and such for the classes.

Kyara's Scout class will remain unchanged as it is not addressed in the Pathfinder books.

Answer's to H's Questions

You see no guards, nor do you hear them. The prison section is isolated from the main guard room by a thick and sturdy oak door banded with iron. There is no window or anything in that one and it is presumably locked, based on the click you heard after the guards departed. The only visible way out of this section of the dungeon is through the main guard room you were brought in through.

Heironymus and Ele are in one cell, Airion and Kyara are in the one opposite them.

tools

I would like to point out that the orc did in fact pick up his tools after the guard had closed the door after they were nearly discovered, it is in a post, sorry to derail plans already made.

QUOTE:
With the main door once again shut Gronz whispered, "We have to move quickly, no more questions, just cooperate!" He then rushed to get his tools from the cell he had tossed them into, such things were far too valuable to just leave lying around.

You're right

Apparently either I missed it or it was just so long ago I forgot about it... but at least I'm not the only one. Perhaps then Dakarta should change his post to say he calls out to the half-orc for the tools.

Would everyone be alright with that?

Didn't see this

Yep, I'm alright with this. Didn't see the post - I frequently just look at the game thread and miss this one.

k

It happens. I do the same thing sometimes, both as the GM and as a player in various games.

quick planning

first do I know which door the new guards are coming in?
If so does the door they are coming in open into the room or out of it?
Are there any tables or chairs in the room we are in currently?

first do I know which door the new guards are coming in? Yes, it is a door to your left (your rescuer could identify it as the door to the warden's office).

If so does the door they are coming in open into the room or out of it? The door opens into the room.

Are there any tables or chairs in the room we are in currently? Yes. There is a small table and 4 chairs tha the guards normally sit at to play cards.

General room description

Alright, since I have yet to set up an account that will allow me to post images, I'm going to provide a good room description to show you where you are:

The room is about 20'x30'. The door you came through (from the cells) is in the south, along the longer wall. The noises seem to be coming from the door to your right (or the east). There is another door to your left and across the room. All of the doors are slightly off center on the walls so they don't exactly line up with each other. There is a table surrounded by 4 chairs near the center of the room. Four locked chests (potentially containing your equipment) can be seen in the northeast corner of the room.

(When the orc-kin chooses to reveal it, the entrance he came in through is the door to the north, though there are still the potential for a great many guards before you reach the front entrance by going that direction.) Remember, your characters do not know this last tidbit, having been blindfolded for their journey here, but for eas of reference I thought I mwould provide the infor anyway.

I hope this helps.

Just a reminder

You are in a prison. There are a large number of guards stationed here, along with several that are much stronger than the ones you have been facing.

I say this to enforce the sense of urgency you would likely be feeling about escaping. The more you kill, the worse the charges levied against you.

Questions

Ok, I think we need just a brief discussion before I know what to do.

If Ele fell "20 feet from the window" - how far back werethe guards? Essentially, is there any chance of getting to her and dragging her to the window before the guards get everyone? Is it hopeless?

Is this just a straight tunnel - guards at one end, Ele in the middle, window at the far end? In that case we could not lose our way in the fog - even if we go into it to retrieve a group member.

Heironymus is not in the habit of leaving people behind. Especially not now that we have killed at least one guard. (I assume) If there is a chance he would want to go back for her. If there is no chance, he has had enough experience with bad guys to know that sometimes you simply flee.

FYI - I might not have computer access for the next several days, so I might not post on the main thread until then. H's actions would be simple. Save Ele if there is a chance, flee if there is not.
