Thank you Steel

Yes that is exactly what I mean, which means your current ability scores from the last game are actually 5 points too high. Which means either you and Bri will have to re-stat, or I'll have to change the point value to 85. I'll think about that and get back to you guys.

80 points

After some thought I have decided to set point value at 80. This means that in order to keep your original characters from my first game you will need to re-stat, or just subtract a total of 5 points from your old stats in whatever areas you think most fitting.

Nuts

And here I was all drooling over the 14-18-16-18-18-18 stats that a 80pt-buy would have gotten my character...

Knew it had to be too good to be true. Oh well. Need to re-tinker some stuff then... It's my week to run the game for my table-top group, so I won't be able to put in much time fixing the over-powered version of Khetarin until Tuesday.

3 in

Okay folks, I have 3 characters in as of now, a hit and run ftr/rog, a laser ninja, and a caster (arcane and divine). Still have not heard anything else from Brianna, nor have I heard anything else from Dakarta.

That said I am not in any real hurry to rush this game into play phase, so sit tight and thanks for your patience.

80 points for stats

Just to clarify the 80 points for stats is not an 80 point buy but 80 total stat points to use to build stats from 0 at a cost of 1 point per 1 stat point you could have stats such as 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 10, or 2-16s 2-14s and 2-10s

80 point total

I believe you got it right. The character I turned in, and had approved, had a total of 80 points for his stats.

I hope that helps!

1 for 1

Yes it is indeed a 1 to 1 buy. You start with zero and buy into stats one point at a time. This allows a little more customization while still insuring that everyone is on the same level as opposed to letting everyone roll their own scores.

new 3.5 gestalt game

are you still looking for new players? if you are i would like to play. what books do you use for character classes? i have almost all of the 3.5 books so i need to see if what ones you use to narrow down the choices for class/race combinations.

hhhmmm

Shield Wolf said he was holding a few spots for past players and I believe he is waiting on their replies so I can't tell you if there are spots or not as of yet. As the game hasn't started I suppose there is no rush and from personal experience I can be certain he'll get back to you soon to let you know either way!

If you feel like making a character he left guidelines on the first page of this thread along with a basic template. The basics are:

-starting lvl 3 w/ standard funds
-80 total stat points
-any race with an ECL no higher than 2 is available
-most classes are available, just no extraplanars, Psionics, Paladins, or Samurais
-explain your class combination in your background. To quote Shield Wolf "I don't just want, "I'm a wiz/sor just so I can cast twice the spells!! lulz!""
-for level adjusted races your total levels should equal 3: so if its +1 adjustment you start as lvl 2 if its a +2 adjustment you start at lvl 1
-Prestige Classes will be approved and ruled on individually

I think that is everything.. anyway, I'd recommend working up a character and PM'ing Shield Wolf with it (a good background might impress him and earn a spot regardless!) or you can play it safe and simply wait for him to respond on this thread about any open spots and then you can work up a character for him! Good luck either way bud! I hope to see you in a game!

new character

well i was thinking of doing a warblade(tome of battle)/warrior(unearthed arcana version) but i didn't want to pick the race or alignment or some of the class features without knowing what everyone else was playing. i wanted to make it so the pc helps the group not hinders it.

Top of page..

If you look at top of this thread there is a link to "Related Threads:" that has a cast of characters including both a list of NPC's and the three accepted characters thus far.. i know from talking to him that me and Steelight are playing Drow, and I think the other accepted character is human as I recall but i'd have to check the forum myself to be certain..

Shield Wolf said we had a "a hit and run ftr/rog, a laser ninja, and a caster (arcane and divine)" thus far so I'd work off that I suppose!

Thanks Dreen

You've done a great job of helping answer questions and the like, thanks for the help.

As for the questions being posed specifically, Warblade is fine, but since the class requires a lot of training I will need a great background to allow it. As for the Warrior, if you mean the "generic class" then I'm going to have to say no. Standard Fighter will do, however if there are racial class levels, I will consider allowing that.

Also, I know I allowed 2 Drow thus far, but the LA limit is +1. Not +2 as Dreen said. And also, single HD races only. No bugbears, minotaurs, ogres, etc. The group is leaning highly toward stealth play as well, with the exception of the caster, and even then he's Drow so sneaky-ish.

Oh and another thing

Just a heads up, I am working on multiple plot lines that the group will follow depending on decisions made in game. I will allow, to a certain degree, some very underhanded dealings by the PCs. This meaning that if you are sent to deliver a message and ordered quite strictly not to read it, then you may choose to read it, but the story will shift slightly based on the choice. Same goes for being sent to recover some long lost treasure, you can choose to attempt to pocket pieces, keep weapons, etc etc, just PM me your intentions to keep the shady dealings in the shadows.

I'm hoping for a Role-play intensive experience, without too much Roll-play going on. That said, if you write me a very very impressive post trying to bluff your way out of something, it may give you a bonus on the Bluff check that would surely be involved. This does go both ways though, If you just give me something simple like, "Bob tells the guard that the goods aren't stolen he just found them. (bluff check)" then chances are the bluff check will get a penalty or at the very least the guard will get a bonus to sense motive, if not both.

I'm weaving a story of intrigue, in-fighting, and intra-guild political drama. I think if we can all pull this off then it will be great fun, or it could just get tiresome. So that said, if you are growing bored with the way things start going once the game starts, then by all means PM me and let me know, I'm open to suggestions to make this fun for everyone.
