==Reminants of Man== Recruitment a DH game!

Ok, this is going to be my recruitment for a dark heresy game that I want to GM. Now, before anyone jumps in (and I know everyone will be just chomping at the bit to get in I will require only one thing from my players. DEDICATION

I do NOT want this to fizzle out and die, especially if I put the work into making the story. That saying, also I'm going to have it be more of a faster pace posting than usual. Once a week to me is just too slow and people lose interest because everything drags on and it's discouraging to see no one posting. So because of this, I'm going to declare once every 3 days a post, so little under twice a week. Please, if you can't make this then I'm sorry but I rather not have you playing. I want this story to progress and in my opinion, it can't really go that far with once a week.

Ok, with that done, I'm looking for MIMINUM 3 people. Three is good enough for me, and I don't really care about a max, because only people are dedicated should play, and if your dedicated then the more the merrier.

Also, post quality. I admit, I'm not a novelist and sometimes I just want to get the post done. So, I'm not expecting everyone to post full page posts every time, I rather have quality over quantity. I will be requiring a minimum of TWO paragraphs please, no less. Just some detailed couple paragraphs and we'll be good. No pressure on the player to crank out the next Great American Novel but enough to keep people reading, because remember your not just typing this up for yourself your here to entertain, me, the other players, and everyone lurking too, so keep that in mind . With that said, I will be trying at least to be as entertaining as I can be. I'm no lyrical word smith but I'll try my damnedest to give you guys what I got, especially if I see you doing the same for me.

Also, you will be apart of an Inquisitors team so feel free to be whatever you want. If you need help with character creation please ask and I will try to help you. If you are a veteran DH player then you probably know more than me, all I'm asking is no wacky crazy source books from a million different places for your character, I don't think there are even that many books made for DH but I'm just covering my own butt.

Also, not everyone is required to know much about the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but by the Emperor it will help you immensely to know some stuff, so please if you want do a little research on the setting and story, I promise you it isn't boring at all and you'll most likely be enthralled by the greatness of it all.

Ok, I think thats everything so far, and for those who know what the story is about and those who are interested, this is my quick synopsis of what the story is going to be. Now, I will make this more detailed and fill it in more later, but for now this is just off the fly.

" On the Eastern Fringes of the Milky way galaxy, man kinds empire struggles to keep a grasp on its world colonies. Constant threats from Xenos pressure the Imperials from all sides, and rebellious World leaders try their hand against the emperor, feeling his grasp is weak at the edge of space. Whispering constantly into the ear of man is the warping nature of chaos, always waiting and biding its time to corrupt and defile the human soul. The chaos of the Eastern fringe is a breeding ground for Heresy of all types, and it is only through daily penance to the emperor that the citizens of the Imperium are granted their safety.

Currently the vast armies of the Imperial guard are locked in into a stalemate with corrupted heretics, men women and children who's hearts were tainted with chaos. This theatre of war consists of multiple star sytems collectively known as the Akrossa zone. These four star systems are surrounded by vast expanses of deep space, the nearest imperial colony being months away. Such is the importance of these planets that without them travel between this area will be hindered to the point of crippling some of the larger fronts that the Imperium of man is fighting.

Recently in the star system Gorgakan on the surface of hive world Pellia IV, a catastrophic event has shaken the stalemate loose in the heretics favor. One of the spire cities that rose miles high into sky and miles around at the base had burst into flame. This flame though was green, emitted no heat, and reeked of ozone miles around. A giant pyre had risen into the sky with unnatural flame and no one knew what it was, except that it was something only the chaos gods would allow. Panic followed through the ranks of the Imperial guard, and Inquisitors from the Ordo Hereticus are being dispatched to the area to further investigate the happenings, and maybe even stop it from completing fruition... whatever it may be. "

Ok, forgive me if it's kinda messy, just took me forever to do that.

Nice intro, man

Nice work with the teaser, Jozan1! Sounds like a really cool setting.

How does the character creation process work? If you're using the books I think you are, how many "advancements" does one start with? Are all the "classes" available?

I'm going to be using the normal Dark heresy books, Characters starting at base everything. I'll get a Dark Heresy character sheet up and ready by tonight, I'm at college right now so I can't really reference my books.

What?! No bites yet?

I'm surprised no one has jumped on board yet. Last time someone hosted a Warhammer Dark Heresy game the spots filled up fast?

Tann, where are you?! I expect you to be the first to sign up!!

Step right up, folks!

Hey, just thought I’d try to help Jozan1 drum up some interest in this great setting. Below I listed the possible “Classes” one can play in Dark Heresy along with a brief description of each one. Check it out and think out who you’d like to play.

POSSIBLE “CLASSES” IN DARK HERESY Adepts: Knowledgeable scholars and logisters. Adepts are wise and learned... at least they hope to be one day. They are skilled with languages, knowledge and often act as the brains of the group. They are not very good at fighting, and some are very poor at talking to people. When it comes to the realm of the mind however, they leave everyone else eating dust.

Arbitrators: Investigators and lawmen. Arbitrators are tough law-keepers and judges. They ensure that the Imperium’s laws are maintained, whilst also acting as the executioners for rebels, seditionists and trouble-makers. Arbitrators do not serve on any local planetary police force; rather they are members of a higher organization: the Adeptus Arbites. Arbitrators are not very strong, and they sometimes lack social graces. When it comes to sheer ability to soak up damage and to track down their prey, however, they are certainly the ones you want on your side.

Assassins: Skilled killers. Assassins are adept at getting close to a target and ending their days. Some are cold-blooded executioners that revel in bloodshed, while others are consummate professions who take great pride in their “art”. Whatever their motivations, they represent some of the most dangerous men and women of the Inquisition, each one a finely honed tool of death.

Cleric: Priests, diplomats and leaders of men. Clerics are the priests of the Emperor, members of the vast organization know as the Ecclesiarchy. They are charismatic and capable leaders, as well as respected figures of authority. Clerics are trained in a wide variety of abilities, and can turn their hand to pretty much anything. Most notably they know how to lead and inspire, preaching from the front line as they charge into battle.

Guardsmen: Warriors, soldiers and brawlers. They are the fighters of the 41st Millennium. Some may be members of a formal army, or even part of the Imperial Guard. Others may be nothing more than mercenaries and thugs. Some may even be convicted criminals, fitted with explosive collars and sentenced to serve in the penal legions to pay for their terrible crimes. Needless to say, Guardsmen are neither particularly smart nor sociable. They more than make up for this with their ability to make things die in loud and unpleasant ways.

Imperial Psykers: Practitioners of the psychic disciplines. Psykers are otherworldly individuals with supernatural powers. They have many and varied of abilities, from reading minds to throwing bolts of bio-electrical energy. These strange powers come with a terrible price however, for each psyker is a doorways to the hellish dimension of the immaterium, the abode of Daemons, psychic predators and worse. Each Imperial pskyer risks his very soul every time he uses his abilities, knowing that the cold edge of a mercy blade is the kindest fate the Daemon-possessed can expect to meet.

Scum: Thieves, outcasts and, well, scum. Criminals, conmen, gangers, and desperados of the Imperium. Scum are the flotsam and jetsam of society. For all their dubious origins, they do have numerous skills that are highly useful for secretive, quasi-legal tasks. From picking locks to street stabbings, forgery and fencing illegal goods, Scum are good at social skills, as well as being rather agile. Perfect for getting in and out of trouble.

Tech-Priests: Keepers of mysterious techonology. Tech-Priests are the guardians of machine-spirits and the preservers of the traditions of tech. They tend to incredibly arcane machines and learn many mysteries, such as the rites of ignition and the art of maintenance. As they learn of ancient science, they seek out lost technologies, and also replace their frail flesh with gleaming steel or chattering circuitry.

Oh my...

Ayrn, I'm very greatfull for your help on this! If people aren't joining because of certain things like how often you have to post, i'll lower it to once a week like normal if it'll help to get the game off the ground. I'll post up a format for a character sheet soon hopefully so you can get an idea on how the sheet will look. Also this isn't a D20 system, it's based on % dice, and is very easy to get into once we start. Experience is given out and you can buy upgrades as soon as you get some, the way you advance is once you spend enough points, you can move onto the next rank and more upgrades and stat enhancers are available to you.

You don't need to be knowlegable about the 40k universe, I can help you with getting a feel for the setting and as long as you can imagine a sci fi futuristic place, you'll be more than good to go!

For The Emperor!!

I am quite knowledgeable about the 40k universe, and as a collector of Imperial guard the setting is perfect.

However, I have never heard of let alone played a dark heresy game. I am very interested however i will need some help on rules, character creation etc...

Welcome and such...

Hey, welcome to the Inn, Haruspex! Hope you enjoy your stay.

Jozan1 is using the Dark Heresy Role Playing Game System from Fantasy Flight Games. You can pick up the Core Rule Book from RPGnow.com... or either Jozan or I can help you create a character.

The character creation process is simple enough. You choose your "classes" from one of the ones listed above, and then you need to choose a "human-type".

Characters can have the following "types":

Feral World Humans: They tend to be big and strong, but less smart and less social. They are your typical warrior types.

Hive-Born Humans: They tend to be more street-smart and have a bit more social graces... but they are not quite as strong and they suffer a bit when they are out of the "civilized" areas. Any of the classes work half-decent.

Imperial-Born Humans: Pretty much your well rounded human. Not really strong in anything, but not weak in anything either. All the classes would be fine, depending on what your focus your attributes on.

Void-Born Humans: A little on the stranger-side, these humans where not born on a planet but out in the void. They tend to be physically weaker, but have a stronger "mind". They typically make decent psykers and scholars.

After you choose your "class" and "human-type", let's chat some more... sent me a PM if you like.

I would but

I just don't have the time or the desire for a 4th game as I'm in 3 rt now and quite happy with them.

Though I throughly enjoy the 40k world and all its cool stuff, for rt now I'll just stick to the books .

Good luck with the game and if one of my 3 games dies I'll check back to see about joining.
