An alternate sci-fi game?

I was thinking seriously about running something akin to a simple dungeon crawl in a sci-fi setting. Any of you remember Grey's space marines game? I was thinking of something a bit like that, perhaps.

Freeform isn't truly right; we'd have to have some kind of stats, but that wouldn't be main focus. I wonder if there would be any interest?

hehe

I'm not sure what exactly I want to do... either a sci fi or a modern setting. But something nice and suspenseful, along those lines.

Oh yeah...

The Thor Incident, wasn't it?

Never played in that one, myself, but I did love lurking! Great stuff! If I didn't have so many other games on my plate at the moment, I'd likely jump at this one. Who knows? If it takes a while to "get off the launch pad" I might have some dead characters and some free time... I'll keep my peepers open.

Only on for a few

Yeah I remember that one...ALL HAIL the LT!!....NOT!!!

But I still give thanks for that game as it was the game where I met and gamed with you Olan, and Alacrity for the first time and Al and I became close friends and I really got to know you Olan after that. To this day that game I think helped me become a Mod as you both really got to know who I was at that time.

But if you do run something like that...PLEASE,PLEASE no LT for me Sarge maybe but no LT

maybe yes, maybe no

Serenity is the only sci fi I've gotten into, since it doesn't have the military aspect and isn't background intensive like Star Wars....so, I'll happily read up what you propose, but I'm a remote possibility for a player.

okay, here's the idea....

This is going to be a mixture of genres. Military, sci-fi, maybe a bit of something else tossed in?

We're gonna set this in the not terribly distant future, perhaps the year 2025 or so. The PCs will be SpecOps personnel... I have yet to decide from exactly which branch(es).

I am opening this game to no more than six PCs, of which at least one needs to be a medic. Ideally, we'll have one PC playing the role of a scientist type. This person could be a civilian specialist brought in for their particular knowledge, or it could be someone with a military background. If you are interested in the science role, please PM me for more detail.

I would expect that we will need one demo expert, as well. Beyond that, ratings (jobs) are pretty much open.

You guys will not necessarily be a squad, in the traditional sense - it would work well that you are each handpicked for this mission.

I will be loosely using the d20 modern system for this game, but as of this moment, I am not soliciting character sheets - simply character concepts.

Me too

I woudln't mine playing the Medic or the scientist type--even though I do like the Action PC's too I have several of those types of characters I am playing now. Once in Twilight 2000 whatever I play a scientist and medical doctoe combination I was really good in those fields.

Especially since Grugg jumped on the sniper role. just like him to go off shooting things.

Not only shooting them...

...but shooting them from where they cannot shoot me back! Clearly, this is manliest way to do this.

I'M IN!!!

I would love to play.

Hmmm, how about a Martial arts expert?

Someone also good with weapons, it can be a close combat specialist!

My Idea for My Character

I would love to play an all-around fighter, jill of all trades, computer specialist, a weapons master, and skilled in demolition.
