USS Discovery, Xenobotany Labs – 1130

Lt. J.G. Natalie Keely nervously set the corbaris seculiran plant in the appropriately sterilized and fetilized pot, then set the containment field to the exact temperature specified to keep the delicate plant alive. This was her fourth try at re-potting the offspring of the much larger and even more demanding parent plant and the first three had wilted immediately as soon as she put up the field. So, for this last one she was extremely careful and also very worried it would also die...field set...and it appeared unaffected. Natalie sighed. She watched for a moment to ensure all was ok with the sprout, but it was not showing any signs of wilting at all. She pushed a blond curl from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "Wonderful!" she said to herself and the scientific log the computer was recording as she stated each step in the process aloud for her own records. "Operation four was a success." she stated, her brilliant green eyes shining in the specialized lighting. "Computer: End recording."

Smiling, she walked away, happy that at least one of the difficult plant's offspring was surviving so far. She scooped up the others to place in bio-reclamation units and then washed her work station and her hands. Everything was all set for the morning and she could leave the lab for a small break, so she headed for the ship's lounge to have a cup of tea. She had some protien extractions to do on a Romulan Jaffa root later and wanted to be re-charged before the next big job.

Eightmontths, ninemonths, as long as it's up to speed with what's happening on the ship now, that's fine.
