Subject: Change of tactics

William shook his head as the man refused to follow Ren's orders. Not to mention the man's demeaning words about William's "kind". It was time for a change of tactics, not that Ren would like it.

He grabbed the man's clothes and pinned him up against the wall. Staring him straight in the eye, he spoke in a calm and collected voice.

"Listen here. You will do as my 'friend' here tells you", he said while putting a special emphasis on 'friend'. "Also, you will make no references to my 'kind' whatsoever, as I am sure you are way out of your league. Otherwise, I'm going to have to remove your 'accessories'. Try serving your master without eyes and fingers or after having all the tendons in your legs severed."

Subject: The hidden beauty?

William unconciously kept stroking his face. It was long since he had last been so well-shaven. He didn't like having a beard, but the only times he shaved he usually did it with a knife or something of the like. Shaving-foam and razors were a rare commodity to William, who usually didn't care.

The same applied to his clothing. He felt really out of place, but he couldn't say he complained when he looked in the mirror. This Majere-guy seemed to be happier now that William was clean and well-dressed, and William decided that was good enough. He was probably going to be working with him for a while, so better to keep him happy.

He'd left the weapons he took from the dead werewolves at Ren's club. He didn't really have a place to store them. Another bad thing about not having his trenchcoat was that if he had to change form, he'd have nothing to hide his nudity. He'd have to stay in his Wolf-form. Not that he was planning on changing anytime soon. He didn't know how much Dorian had told Majere, but he wasn't about to give his true nature away. He couldn't deny the fact that he was amused when he saw Ren try to hide his annoyance of his driver's disobediance, however.

As they exited the limo, they were approached by a man standing outside the library. William simply looked at Ren and let him do the talking. Despite being able to sound sophisticated when he needed to, William wasn't really a good talker. He somehow always said the wrong thing. Or, rather, the right thing to get himself into trouble. He was curious about the order Ren gave the man, however. How was it his duty to help people find books in the middle of the night?

He simply shook his head subtly and kept stroking his face where the stubble used to be. It really was as smooth as a baby's butt.

William simply gave a nod in Dorian's direction as he followed Ren downstairs. He didn't really care that Ren was talking to himself, aparently deciding what William should wear. He'd never been a dedicated follower of fashion, he usually just liked whatever kept him warm and comfortable.

William glared at Ren, clenching his fists as he watched the man's frail form. He wanted to take him by the neck and rip him in half, wanted to tear his still-beating heart from his chest. But he'd already been in a rash fight this evening. One that had ended in double homicide. Without a word, he simply turned back to Dorian.

"A book from the library", William though as Dorian finished his explaination. "Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever had a library card".

"Alright" he spoke out loud, his words and gaze directed at Dorian. "Doesn't sound too hard. Could simplify things if our good friend here could get me some fresh clothes, though. I'm not exactly presentable at the moment."

He was careful to totally ignore Ren's presence, speaking of him as if he wasn't there.

((Sorry, gonna have to keep this a shorty).

William was displeased at the interruption. He looked over at Ren with a scowl on his face. Couldn't the man manage his employees? Aching to know more about these items he was to retrieve, he turned towards the newcomer. With a loud "Leave!", he flung the pen, still dripping with his blood, towards the wall next to the man.

Without even checking to see if the man had even got the idea, he turned back to Dorian.

"Please continue, Mr. Grey"

William stared at the contract, looking as if Dorian's explainations went straight past him. This was not the case, as he instead listened to every word and played them over and over in his head. This was either a sure way to power, or a path to utter damnation.
But was it too late to turn back now? Could he just walk out the door as if nothing had happened? He'd gone along until now out of curiosity, believing that he could turn back at any time. Now he wasn't so sure anymore.

An image of Richard popped into his mind, and he clenched his fists involuntarily. He knew he needed any edge he could get. He turned to Dorian.

"Do you have a pen?"

Subject: Out of the comfort-zone...

William was led by Dorian through the club to the VIP-room. The brutes at the door had given him a disgusted glance, but seemed to recognize Dorian and let them in without a word. The structure was huge. Had William had any knowledge of architecture, he'd have recognized the style as Gothic. It was hard to imagine the place as a nightclub and not some demonic church. Churches had always made William uncomfortable, this building made him relive the feeling.

He was still only wearing his coat. Luckily it covered most of his body, although his bare feet and a small part of his chest were visible. A good thing the weather wasn't colder than it was, or his private parts would've gotten a chill.

Inside, the place was even grander than on the outside. Bars lined the walls on their initial entrance and the dancefloor was up ahead. Everyone was dressed fashionably. It seemed almost exaggerated. William saw Dorian looking at the dark-stained windows overlooking the dancefloor, getting the notion that it was their destination. Whoever he was about to meet seemed to reside there.

As they entered, William was not impressed. Their host was above average height, but slender as a reed. He was, like everyone in the club, dressed so well William would've believed any claim that he changed clothes every two hours. The man seemed insulted by his presence. William hadn't been so amused since the last time a werewolf threatened him.

"William", he replied absent-mindedly as he watched their host's associate - no, servant - go fetch him some clothes. William was no giant, but he was well above average height and would have gladly watched the man trying to find him some clothes. He turned back to their host.

"I'm not allergic to soap. Neither has the week been any longer than most others. I'm afraid you'll just have to settle with the fact that not everyone is as afraid of the opinion of their peers as you are".

William was no psychologist, but he'd known a man like this one before. A 'man' named Richard.

"Also, I would appreciate it if you did not speak about me as if I was not here. I'm rather sure I could give you better details about myself than Mr. Grey ever could, although I am rather astounded by his knowledge."

William was rather well-spoken for a man who shunned human society, and his voice carried well around the room. He turned to Dorian.

"I must say though, Mr. Grey, that I am also curious about this contract. I'm afraid you'll have to clarify the points of the contract. What do you mean by 'services'? What kinds of benefits will we reap? Who is this superior?" He paused before the next question. "And what is this 'priceless artifact'?"

There was a gleam in his eyes as he spoke. Anything that could help him against the foe he had hunted so long was a blessing in his eyes. Any elder of his tribe would likely had advised against making a deal such as he was about to make, but the dream of ever returning to his people did not occur to him. At first he had been to afraid to return, too afraid of his own failure to protect his pack. After all he had been through, he wasn't even sure they'd want him back. He'd just murdered two of the Forsaken in cold blood just to relieve frustration. Maybe such a deal would be the final blow to his soul, the last drop that would send his soul screaming to the depths of madness? At the moment, he didn't care. He wanted his final stand against the one foe that mattered...

Gerald Tarrant

Anger boiled with in him like a pot of scorching hot lava in the middle of a volcano ready to errupt. But of course on the outside he looked as calm as always. Faces twisted with anger where so unsightly, and somehow a lot less threatening than the cold non caring stare he did his best to maintain. Not only did that bastard walk around his home like it was his and make Ren look inpolite with making it seem as if he had to ask for refreshments. No that much could be tolerated with a slight act of will. But bringing a big burly half-naked stinking ape with him as well.
He really had to try hard not to advert his eyes from the brute, he was NOT about to let them see how horribly uncomfortable this made him feel.

"Jonathan.. would you go and get my guest some 'proper' clothing... And be quick about it"

He ordered the big man closest to them who hurried out of the room. Ren allowed himself to wonder for a moment, where the hell the man would get plus sized clothing at this time of night. But he quickly brought his thoughts back in order and focused them on the matters at hand.

"An Artifact, protection and certain benefits..? I do hope your not forgetting the promise to help me rise above the rest of my kin here"

He said with his normal soft voice, someone who knew him well might notice that it was slightly shakier than normal as he reached out and picked up the parchment, unrolling it slowly between his fingers.

"I would also appreciate it if you gave me more details about this mister.."

He let the last word hang waiting for the brute to fill in the blank himself before continuing.

"Why am i housing him, what is his nature and what dangers will focus on me for staying around him.. And more importantly.. Is he allergic to soap or has it just been a long week?"

Ren said, perfectly serious although his words sounded almost like a jest, wrinkling his nose slighlty.

William sighed. He didn't really have a choice. He wasn't about to take on a whole pack, let alone Richard, by his lonesome. Not as he was now. He gave a threatening glance to Dorian's bodyguard and then turned his gaze back to Dorian. His gaze was softer, seeing as he couldn't really afford pissing off his only 'ally' in this town, but there was still a threatening tone in his voice as he spoke.

"Very well, Mr. Grey. I will do as you ask as long as you keep your end of the bargain. Where do you want me to go?"

He desperately tried to hide the fact that he couldn't stop thinking about this 'he' Dorian mentioned. An unfortunate soul in a desperate situation like himself? Or simply someone power-hungry who wished a part in Dorian's apparent power? Whoever he was, William would have to stay on his guard

William relaxed a little, although it didn't show on his exterior. He was still injured from his last battle, and had no clothes. He desperately needed to find a locus, but doing so on his own was dangerous. Also, there was Richard to take care of. Killing him had been William's priority-task for a few months now, and he couldn't afford to get sidetracked when he was so close. However, as much as he wanted to deny it, he needed assisstance. And there was also his usual curious nature...

"Please explain to me what kind of 'service' you're talking about, Mr. Grey." The sarcastic etiquette was still there. "I have something very important to do, and cannot take my mind off it for a second unless for something truly grand."

He'd stopped pointing the blade in Dorian's direction and let it hang loosely by his side. He kept his eye on the bodyguard, however, and was ready to bring up his blade on a moment's notice.

As soon as Dorian's first sound left his lips, William was on his feet pointing one of the female's blades at him. He'd expected someone to find him eventually, although these men were below his expectations. He thought it rude to send someone who was not Uratha to get rid of him. He hadn't expected weaklings such as those in the alley to make pacts with other supernaturals, but he didn't believe they were stupid enough to send two humans either. He was curious.

"I'll admit that battle was not among my finer ones", he said with a bitter tone in his voice. "But what can I help you with, Mr. Grey?"

His voice was filled with a sarcastic etiquette. He thought this Grey-guy was a little too formal for the setting and occation.

Subject: Picking up the pieces

Willam reverted to his hishu-form and looked at the splattered heap before him. Fighting hadn't been the smartest decision, but there was no helping it. He hadn't fought for weeks, and just watching a typical bar-brawl got his blood boiling. Too bad such a thing, simple for most people, had caused the werewolf before him to die like a feral beast in Death Rage.

He felt his essence flow through him as he instantly turned into his Dalu-form. He picked up his trenchcoat off the ground and put it on. A little tight, but he had made sure it could fit him in dalu-form when he bought it. He picked his opponents' weapons up and concealed them under his coat. He managed to keep them from shaving his skin off by wrapping the remains of his tattered clothes around them. They weren't exactly handy to have there in case he got in a fight, since he couldn't get to them easily and they only weighed him down.

He tasted the blood on his silver knuckles and sniffed the air. The escaping female was not far away. Of course, she couldn't move very fast in her condition. William followed her trail through the alley and into the street beyond.

The trail led him to a playground not far away. It had only taken him five minutes to track her. She lay in the middle of the playground, not moving. William sighed. Well, at least this meant he didn't have to strike her down from behind. He'd have let her run if he hadn't needed to shut her up. Her shapechanging had, of course, torn her clothes so she lay there naked. William normally wouldn't have cared, but he didn't really want a group of kids to find a woman's naked body the next day. He hid her in some bushes nearby.

He needed new clothes, that was certain. He also needed to reclaim his essence and then find out where Richard was.

He began having second thoughts. Did he really need clothes after he'd killed Richard? He'd never been this close to finding him before, he'd never thought about what lay beyond that. Would he go back to his tribe to beg forgiveness? Would he live like a beast in the wild, shunned by both humans and his own people? He would find out afterwards. Now only revenge mattered. William found himself an alley and tested his newly dead opponents' weapons. He needed to know whether there was a spirit bound in them.

William's fists were clenched so hard under his sleeves that his knuckles turned deadly-white. He knew he had to get the information on the "beast" in the woods, but this guy was simply getting on his nerves. Besides, he doubted Richard would actually stop in a place like this just to haunt the woods.

In one fluid motion he'd done so many times before, his trenchcoat dropped to the ground. He glared the annoying guy in the eye, and then darted towards the girl. His essence filled him and the adrenaline started to flow. He could feel the rage within him, that old familiar feeling. His shape almost instantly changed. He grew fur, and huge claws and fangs made their appearance. His Silver Knuckles grew along with him.

He was now only a few feet from the girl now. Neither of his opponents seemed to have reacted. William managed to look into the girl's eyes, and if his form had allowed him a smirk he would have given her one of those as well, before his punches came raining down towards her.

Used 1 essence to shapechange into Gauru. Used the Boxing-ability Combination Blows to make two attacks (jab and then straight/hook/uppercut), the latter with -1 die. I also lose my defence for the round)

Subject: Ah, choices....

William was torn between two difficult choices. The newly arrived man seemed a capable fighter, or at least more capable than the woman. On the other hand, there was a "beast" in the woods which might be the person William had been hunting for about six months now.

Fight now, which was a rather certain possibility, or wait and POSSIBLY have the chance to fight his real prey. William's blood was boiling, but he knew he'd already made that choice. He'd made it six months ago when he decided to hunt down Richard instead of going back to his tribe in shame. He glared at the newcomer, every muscle in his body tense, but then seemingly relaxed. He really WAS aching for a proper fight.

"If this 'beast' is the man I'm looking for, then you need no other explaination than that he betrayed me and is going to die by my hand. If it's now the one I'm looking for, then hopefully i'll get a proper fight."

William was already starting to detest this "Holocaust", or whatever it was that they called themselves. It took every bit of willpower in him not to just tackle the two and ground n' pound them both...at the same time.

"So, where is the beast? Tell me and I'll be on my way and you will still be alive...for now"

As William caught the scent, he kept staring at the girl. He didn't give away the fact that he had to hurry this up. He could easily take on two of those weaklings, of course, but he wasn't here to kill his own kind. Or, at least, not these individuals of his kind. Sighing, he tried resorting to a bit more peaceful approach.

"Listen", he said. "I don't want to kill you and your friends. I'm looking for someone and I think he passed through here. As soon as I find out more, I'm leaving for good."

He took his hands out of his pockets, but made sure the sleeves of his trenchcoat covered his weapons. Good thing he'd had the sleeves lengthened. He didn't want to scare the girl off by being overly prepared to fight.

"The person I'm looking for is a Blood Talon like me, goes by the name of Richard. If he came through here, he probably started a bar-brawl or something of the sort."

He paused for a moment and looked away.

"Well...", he continued. "Either a bar-brawl or cold-blooded murder. Lost any of your packmates recently?"

William smirked as the girl shouted at him. Despite all his former encounters with other werewolves, he still couldn't take cute little females seriously. Rather odd, since he knew all about the grizzly-sized form they could change into. He put his hands in his pockets, sliding his fingers into the Silver Knuckles. Better safe than sorry. He hadn't been in a fight in a while, but he wasn't about to fight a full pack head-on. At least not until he had the information he needed.

"Listen, doll", he said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "My name is of no significance to you. I'm here for information and nothing more. Even if you fight as well as you track, which you did very well by the way, you're still going to end up a little heap on the pavement if you try to take me on. Same goes for the rest of your pack."

He glared at her and stared her straight in the eye. Before she could respond he added, with a hint of humor: "And what's with the catchy pack-name? Back when I was in a pack, which is actually not so long ago, we were named for what we were known. We didn't have your...apparent creativity".

[attempted to intimidate her (stare-down, specialty ^_^)]
