Subject: DM Update?

Mot really goes where ever Glory's Char goes. I'm waiting for a big update so we can figure out where everyone is going. My guy won't make many leadership choices. He's kinda stupid after all.

But I was thinking about waiting for a DM update. I haven't disappeared!

Well since Loki did suggest talking... I seem to be at a bit of a quandry :-$.

I'll do some thinking tonight and see what I can come up with but don't wait on me to post anything too substantial.

Hey I was just wondering, I know it's my turn, but I don't know should we wait for movement? I know the party is leaving but I don't think I should be the one "leading" the party around as I know nothing of this sorts. Should I wait to post?

Subject: "Me name Mot!"

Mot swung his broomstick fiercely at the thief, however this time, it was not the person's knees that cracked; his poor weapon snapped in two when the once sturdy stick hit flesh. And that's when things began to go downhill for the dwarf, seemingly alone (none of the attacked, including the red haired angel, seemed to be coming to his direct aid) he was facing three men, including the one he just attacked who now wielded a knife. Though the man's first attack slashed the small dwarf, it didn't cut too deep and Mot was able to fight through the pain. Drawing his own utility knife, Mot stabbed at the attacker's dagger wielding hand disarming him.

He didn't aim lethally of course, his good heart did not want anyone to be hurt for no need; these men didn't attack the woman yet. Thus, Mot was about to pick up his broken broomstick and throw the pieces at the assailants, but a man, one he had not seen before, turned him around and spoke a few words to him, nearly handing him what seemed to be an oddly carved piece of wood. About to take it from the man's grasp, the dwarf instantly turned his attention to that of the auburn haired woman. She held one of the thieves in her arms and held a similar piece of wood in her hands, this time pointing at the neck of the attacker.

Mumbling a few words to each other, she obviously grew impatient and all was soon replaced by a shattering boom; one like he had never heard in his life! Frightened, he turned towards the man that spoke to him earlier, but he was again frightened by the intensity of his green eyes, staring at what was the assailant. He turned from the red haired woman, to the green eyed man, and to the woman again. He was unsure what to do in face of this other worldly power, but stood his ground, for he would not leave sight of the woman he would protect with his life.

The tall man then turned to Mot again and spoke to him, first in a very harsh tone. The dwarf looked into the fire of his green eyes and became frozen. However, a warmer smile grew on the man's face and melted the ice that bound the dwarf to his place. He became much more comfortable with the man. Mot heard the word "brave" often in the man's speech. He knew a little what the word meant from talks of sailors on the docks, but he did not know what he spoke of. Again the man showed his kindness by handing him a weapon; a cold, sharp sword. He had never seen one so shiny before, and he knew that this weapon was much more deadly than his broomstick. But he held on tight to his broomstick handle and held it in his opposite hand.

The dwarf looked up and smiled at the man. Green-eyes was one of the only people he knew that ever spoke so warmly to him, and he would never forget that, for he was loyal to death. As he stared up at Green-eyes, the tall man spoke a few more words to the short figure. The dwarf noted "name". From his time at the docks, he knew what he was being asked of and he stood proudly, pointed at himself and said "Me name Mot. Me dwarf! Me big and strong. Carry boxes!"

The dwarf stood as tall as he could in that alleyway, finally happy that he found a place to fit in.

"Wow," Ulfgar said a bit let down, "that was quick". The flames disappeared from his hands, somewhat reluctantly. He slouched on his horse, a bit miffed that his first major encounter was so insignificant, but decided to go along anyway.

He listened to what his fellow companions had to say, and decided he didn't need to add anything else.

He then walked over to the dead hellhounds, a delivered a swift kick to one of the heads of the one he attacked. Not good enough for us, eh? Lousy beast. He began to walk back to his horse and mounted it, waiting for the rest of the party to finish the talking.

Mot the dwarf, was sitting in the alley way, gorging himself with his usual meal of half-eaten potatoes covered in a mouldy cream, dried meats (of unknown substance), and sometimes he was lucky enough to grab a fish from the fish market. This was one of his lucky days. He shoved full potatoes in his large mouth. He small, squinted eyes were shadowed by his large protruding eyebrow and his other harsh features. His short, yet stocky, frame was hunched over making sure he let no crumb go to waste, after all, how lucky was he to get a fish for supper!

However, that was the extent of his luck these days. Mot was a freelance worker in Athcatla. Mot would fill in for an odd job here or there and help lift sour smelling crates from cargo ships or carry barrels of some liquid that made him feel funny if he drank too much (the crew and dock workers called it “room”). The crews used Mot and his sturdiness as a mule, and treated him no better. He was barely paid for his work and was often the butt of many jokes, but the gentle and kind Mot didn’t know any better. Mot was satisfied with how he lived. He ate well (at least to his standards), and had what he thought were friends at the docks. But his naive and simple lifestyle was to change one night when he witnessed the true nature of his so called “friends”. It seemed to be like any usual night after work; the sailors were all in the inn or were walking around with ladies (from the adjacent building) and disappearing into various rooms and alley ways. However, one night Mot noticed a lady unlike any of the others that he had seen. This one seemed to glow; the moonlight and lamplight reflected off of her silky, red hair and did likewise with her white clothing. It was this light that seemed to strike awe in the dwarf. He looked up in childish awe as this glowing figure walked down the dim and dirty docks. But he was not the only one to take notice, a few sailors were walking out of the inn and stopped and began to eagerly talk amongst themselves, pointing at the divine figure, snickering. Mot, sitting on the edge of the docks could not take his eyes off the girl and could do nothing else. The sailors began to yell at the auburn figure and chased after her. The girl began to ran, but she could do nothing to escape her attackers. She began to scream and tried to fight the men off, but to no avail. The men began to rip her clothes off and beat her. At that point, Mot knew something was wrong. He got up and ran over to the girl and tried to help her up as he pushed off the sailors, but as he was doing so, one of the sailors punched him straight face. The short dwarf staggered back. The men yelled something at him, and brought the girl back to the ground again and began dragging her toward an alley way. She began to shriek frantically. This time, Mot took more significant action. His muscular hands gripped a leg of the sailors and threw him to the ground and flung the man toward the inn. The other two men noticed the dwarf and advanced toward him. Mot picked up a broom that stood against the wall of a house and smacked it against the knees of one of the attacking sailors. He heard a sharp crack, but was surprised when it was not the broom handle that made the noise. The wounded sailor howled in pain and collapsed on the ground. The last assailant ran off, fearing the attack of the stout dwarf. Mot then ran over to the now unconscious girl, and put her on his broad shoulders and carried her over to a more open place and set her gently down on the cold stone. He just looked at her for a few minutes, admiring her glow. But his gaze was interrupted when he heard the sound of metal on stone, numerous sounds coming from a side street. Mot saw the sailor, the one who ran away, point at him and then the half naked auburn girl and the armoured guards followed his finger. The numerous guards screamed at the dwarf, not unlike how the sailors did, and rushed at him, swords gleaming. Mot sensed danger, and began to run. He ran through alley ways and streets, trying to evade the guards until finally, he hid in a dark corner behind a pile of trash.

That was four days ago. The guards were no longer looking for him, but they knew his face and would arrest him if they had the opportunity. He finished off the last of his raw fish, wiped the grease and gunk off his padded shirt, and was about to get up until he heard that familiar noise.

CLANK CLANK CLANK.

The sound of metal on stone was undeniable; numerous guards began to run down the adjacent alley way, no doubt chasing some other fugitive, but Mot didn’t know that.Mot got up immediately and began to race down the small alleys, and headed toward the dock. However, he arrived at a scene that looked too familiar: a woman with shining red hair and a white dress, and three armed men. He knew what he had to do, and his good nature could only agree, despite what he had to go through just days before. Still holding the broom stick from his last encounter, he rushed towards the closest man and smacked the wooden stick on his knees.

But.... maybe I'll pass on killing half the crew this time.

Looks like I was reading v3.5. I thought the spells would be similar. It said HD 4-6, Fortitude save, but nothing about higher levels. Anyhoo... Like I said magic missile at the right one(or whichever one I said before) then!

Aren't we all over 6 HD? The spell won't affect anybody over 6 HD. Is anybody sending their animal companions or other things with lower HD in?

If they are, I'll just cast Magic Missile at the... right one.

Subject: Now that'll wake anybody up.

Sitting atop of his horse, Ulfgar was still waking up from his nap. Just about to yawn, Ulfgar opened his mouth wide, but instead of hearing himself, he heard an infernal howl from the mountains they were journeying to. This woke him up in a snap. The horse he was on bucked and threw Ulfgar off the saddle. And he lay there writhing in pain for a few seconds. He got up gingerly to see two massive three headed beasts standing in front of the group. Covered in fire, Ulfgar realised his various fire spells probably wouldn't be the most effective against these dogs.

Two people were already heading to fight the intruders and Ulfgar thought he might do the same. Though his first thought was to send these beasts into an icy lake, he didn't want to get close to those sharp, shiny teeth of theirs.

So he rummaged through his mind and tried to find a suiting spell to cast: Cloudkill.

OOC: Preparing to cast the spell, Ulfgar makes sure to not hit any of his friends and tries to encompass both Hell Hounds.

Could I cast teleport on one of these beasties? Am I in range?

I looked at the description for the spell and it said for range "Prsl". Does this mean personal?

Well then blast. I sort of answered my own question there. That would have been fun. Dropping them in the closest lake.

Doesn't help too much that my guy is a fire specialist lol.

Alright am I correct in the assumption that both have 4 hit die, yes?

Oh yes, is there a way that I could cast cloudkill and not affect other members of the group?

Like usual, Ulfgar slept in a little today. He woke up in a start, sitting up and looking around the empty room. It seemed as though Panon had already left. He picked up his bag and his staff and began stumbling downstairs. Yawning heavily, he noticed even he was late for breakfast; the last of the group was heading outside, following a woman. Hopefully not an elf. He walked outside, and became more concerned with the bright light of the sun than what the woman was talking about.

However, he did notice she suggested they travel to the mountains. Using his great insight, the wizard thought, Why would we be going to the mountains, if we're searching for beggars? There must be something more than meets the eye. He began to have a few doubts, but his human curiosity began to kick in. What the hell. Let's just do it.

Nearing the group, he went over to the elf he thought was called "Ash". A large falcon was perched on her hand. He asked, "So what's for breakfast?"

Subject: Those elves don't seem like too bad of a thing right now...

Once he heard that the group was going to stay in the inn for the night, he instantly walked over to the two female elves conversing in the inn. Which to choose... Which to choose, he thought to himself, Hell, why not both?! Man, maybe it was a good idea to have all these elves around! About to put his arms around both of the elves and say his proposal for the night, the two suddenly up and left. Damn elves. Never there when you need 'em. Sure to not embarrass himself, he changed that action into a yawn. Grabbing the next closest person next to him, which happened to be Panon Panaw, he decided it would be him who he would room with for the night.

"So friend, I guess it'll be you and me for the night." He yawned again, unconvincingly. "I'm off for the night! I'll meet you up there or something," he clasped the cleric on the shoulder again, "friend."

The mage then headed toward the rooms, stretching his arms once more. He opened the room door and threw himself on his bed, setting his belongings at the side of his bed. Flipping himself over, he grabbed his spellbook, that spellbook he never would have thought he would use for anything of purpose, and began to study it.

Panon Panaw, entered the room and began to gather his things. Looking over at the shiny armour, Ulfgar asked, "So. You're a Cleric huh? What's that like?" Silence. He flipped a few pages of his book. "So what made you choose that path? A dying loved one? Quest to help to meek?" Again, silence, save the clanking of metal. "You and I, I think we'll have a good relationship this journey you know?" He leaned his head back and watched his fingers engulf in flames, "So what do you think took all these beggars?"

"Time Will Tell ... my friend ... Time Will Tell ..."

Well, at least he's not an elf, he thought. The cleric then took off his helmet, and the mage let out a small groan.

Hey sorry guys, exams have been keeping me really busy. I'll try and re-do my post tomorrow. But here's the gist of it:

He goes over to the two "hot elves" Ameera and Ashi(?) (oooh the scoundrel!) and is about to ask to shack with them, until they go off and leave together. Then he grabs the closest one to him (Panaw Paw?) and goes and shacks with him for the night. He throws himself on the bed with all of his clothes... grabs his spell book and tries to make banal conversation like: "So who do you think is stealing all these beggars?". I was going to stop there and see how some more people deal with brekkers.

So please don't be waiting on me! I'll do my best to post early tmrw though!

Sorry about butchering those names... But I have to head to sleep! Got a bible-study group real early in the morn.
