Subject: I thought about why I sided with a goblin

I thought about what I would do and there are many good reasons as to why I sided with you

Reason 1: Darkon's favoured enemies are only goblins because he was trained to fight them when he lived with the elves. And now that he hates most elves he isn't really sure what to belive about goblins anymore

Reason 2: Related to reason one is the fact that Darkon places anyone who's an adventurer as an adventurer first and a race as a distant second. Also he thinks of most elves as bad but not himself so he is willing to excpet that there will be beings of races that don't match the norm and he dosn't hold it against them

Reason 3: Darkon also saw you help the imps up and try to defend them from Steelight and that you want to peacefully work things out which is weighing heavily upon his mind at the time.

Those are the reasons why I decided to side with you even though my race would dictate otherwise. Also our characters have alot in common, for one where both characters that study and work with nature but don't worship a nature god, and were both chaotic neutral.

Subject: There is another option

Another option to you dying or getting expelled is us knocking you out and the nworking things out after your given a chance to calm down. Also I have to wonder what everyone else is doing now. And yes while revolution does sorta mean a willingness to harm someone they didn't actually attack anyone, and the same innate advantage of natural weapons goes for you too as your a monk. I still don't get why being told to do something would cause you to fly into a murderous rage. Miss o'leary must have ordered your character at some point in his three years there and you probably havn't tried to attack her. Can you think of anyway that your character wouldn't fight cause I would rather not get killed or expulsed or have it happen to anyone else.

Subject: Time to choose

Dammit Darkon thought to himself it’s just like last time. Well last time I didn’t pick a side and it didn’t turn out well. No more staying on the sidelines. Time to choose. He quickly realizes that he wants to help the goblin and hopefully prevent more fighting, and steelight is being to rough with the imps when things could be solved more peacefully. Darkon sees Steelight punch at the goblin and he realizes things are spiralling out of control fast. He steps in front of the goblin and draws his blades facing Steelight. He says to Steelight “hasn’t there been enough fighting. We should try to peacefully talk this out, but if you do want a fight then take it on with someone your own size.” Preparing to fight Steelight should he come at him, but still willing to listen to Steelight and let him stop the fighting.

(OOC: I’m putting myself in between Zeph and Steelight with a readied action to attack if Steelight doesn’t back down. Two scimitars +5/+5 atk bonus dmg 1d6+5/1d6+2)

Subject: My character may want to step in

I just realized that my character is probably going to step in to try and stop this fight due to his backstory, and i'll be helping Zeph because he's the on who wants a non-violent solution, but I will be prepared to fight you steelight though i'll try to dissuade you first. No hard feelings i hope

Subject: sorry

Sorry about not posting quickly for the dream part, my bad

I decided to use Ion's trick and backpost for my dream. I hope I did it right, if I did anything incorrect could someone please tell me so I won't make that mistake in the future, thanks

I'm also trying to take charge and quell this imp revolt thing. Hopefully it will be a little easier to beat up imps rather than bugbears

Also just as a side note, if we face on the imps were just supposed to rough them up, not actually use leathal force on them?

Subject: Tranc-mares and other mishaps

Day-1 night time to Day 2 morning
Darkon
Dorm room (Day 1)-Audience chamber (Day 2)

Darkon lugged himself off to his Dorm after getting beat up on the feild of death. He was pondering what had been wrong with his stance, his forms, his attacks. He was trying to figure out what had gone so horribly wrong when he felt a slight force as he was entering his room. It wasn't very strong against him but it felt like a defense shield. Intresting he thought to himself. I wonder what it blocks and what it lets through. He shock his head and decided to let it be for now and try and expirement with it in the early morning after he had tranced for a few hours. He quickly went deep into meditating.

It happened very suddenly, which was the first odd event to occur. He looked around his dreamscape as he wondered why he hadn't slowly flowed into it as he normally did. The his curiosity turned to shock as he saw his dream. Elves fought vicously at one another using bows, swords, magic, and even fists if neccesary to destroy each other. It looked as if nature had turned against itself and the land looked scarred, as if wounded by there fighting. At the head of the battle was his mom and dad. Each one trying to kill the other using scimitars, Darkon's scimitars. As they sunk they're blades into each other they turned as one and looked at him and said in unison "This death was caused by you, you ran while we died for justice. Why didn't you help us?" Darkon backed away in shock and horror and said "I tried to help, can't you see?" The noise of batle became to much for him and he took a step back only to find himself falling sliping through a newly rent fissure in the ground. His thoughts as he fell through were "Wherever i'm going at least it's better than here".

Day 2

He awoke from the trance in a cold sweat the likes of which he had never felt before. Why, why, why were the thoughts going through his head. Why did I dream about my parents now of all times. He relized that it was because he felt weak in the feild of death, just like he did back in his old village. He tried to shake the unpleasent thoughts from his head. He hadn't ever actually seen his parents fight each other back home. Though black thoughts still managed to creep in telling him that they had been on opposite sides of the schism. He mused to himself most parents disown the child, not the other way around, as he had done. He went and showered the sweat off him, and on the way heard Ion practicing in the field. He realized that he should be doing that, practicing to increase his skill so he wouldn't be so helpless next time. He was just about to call out to him to spar agianst each other, when his hands reached his scimitars and he remebered his parents weilding them. He paused and thought next time, maybe, just not now, not after seeing that. He went off to the showers got changed and put on his chainmail as he always did. Never leave home without it he thought to himself. He looked at his scimitars for a momment. Should he even where them when all he was doing was going down to the assembly chamber, but he never went anywhere without them. Still after that dream... No he thought vicously to himself, i'm not going to let them scare me. They didn't control me there and they certainly didn't control him here He thought to himself angrily as he slid them into place in defiant rage. He then went off to the assembly chamber.

In the assembly hall

Of course he realized as he heard Proffeser O Leary tell them about the mastakes they made on the field. We wern't well enough prepared to the area, next time though. Then The door to the auditorium opened and a young woman came stumbling into the room. “Professor O’leary!” She interrupted, throwing her hands up into the air.

Merideth propped her hand on her doe skin covered him and stared at her expectantly.

“It’s the imps Professor! They’ve revolted! It is terrible! The vault is in chaos! None of the fate rollers are working… the dwarven name generator is spitting out confetti covered in Christian Biblical names, and all of the Trek characters have started creating taverns and are getting drunk on mulled wine!”

The bright blue eyes of the professor turn and glimmer as she looks over her students, and grinned, “Up for the challenge?”

This was the chance that we'd all been waiting for to show that we were better than what we had done on the practice field. I wasn't the most experienced person in the group, but I saw that as no reason to stop me from taking command. I jumped to my feet and said "yes we are." I looked around and quickly formulated a plan. In a confident voice I said "Ion, you know about the systems here right? Good" I say without waiting for his reply "Briar your good at sneaking around and getting into machinery right? You two are with me as we try to fix the Fate Roller and then we’ll move on to the Dwarven name generator, teaching any imps along the way a thing or two” I say as I crack my knuckles. I turn to the rest of the group “Steelight, Levanna, and don’t know either of you two names, go out and stop the Trek characters and sort out the Vault” As I look at them I notice that both the two people who I don’t know the names of our covered up as if they’re trying to let nobody find out who they are. I’ll worry about that later I think to myself. I start running out the door and cry out “Let’s kick some imp ass guys” as I run out the door and towards the Fate Roller.

Darkon
week 1-monday afternoon
Redwyrms training yard

Alright I think to myself, there's about 12 bugbears coming at us. I remember from my combat lessons in my old grove how goblin's tend to fight and how to accuratly break their guard with my attack's

I stop for a momment to consider that they might be an illusion. They did appear quite suddenly with the darkness enveloping us, however a fact that may be missed on my overeager or scared classmates is, where did they come from. There are three opition's:

1 They were captured from the wild and sent to attack us. Seems unlikely though as we could quite easily die from battling them and with so many of us the teacher would be hard pressed to intervene in time, besides it just dosn't seem like the sort of thing the Redwyrm acadamy would do.

2 they are actually other students meant to test our fighting skills. Unlikely for the same reason that we might kill one of them easily, and it would just be easier to split us up into sparing groups.

3 they aren't real and were just being fooled by an illusion. This one seems the most likely because an illusion spell could easily create them out of nowhere and the spell could be made so there is no chance of fatality even if we fully belive in it. If they are and they fight them, then i'm just wasting my time. However Darkon stops thinking for a momment as he hears steelight call out to him to help him.

(OOC: Make a disbelief save versus the illusion, if succesesful than follow text bellow, if not or their is no illusion then follow the text under that)

Darkon sees the courtyard for what it truly is and watches his friends battling imaginary foes. Darkon shouts out "It's an illusion, the enemies aren't real". He then starts calmly looking around to try and find who caused it.

(If I failed my disbelief, or there really isin't an illusion)

Crap they are still here. Prehaps it's a highly advanced illusion that is actually partially real using material from the shadow plane. Well I can't waste any more time worrying about where they came from, Darkon thinks to himself. He's about to go help Steelight killone when he sees Levanna summon a monster to help him. As Darkon take a quick look around he realizes that while Steelight might be fine for now the others are going to be at a major disadvantage form the darkness. The Bugbears however have darkvision and can see clearly here, Darkon is alright as his vision is more accurate than a humans in darkness, but light is still going to be needed if were to orginize properly to defeat them.

Darkon sees Levanna casting spells about and Darkon whispers to her "cast a light spell to help penetrate this darkness so we can fight better". He then puts the hood of his cloak up and sneaks to ward a bugbear coming in on Sreelight left and strikes with his scimitars. Normally a bugbear would be able to tell when he got near him just because of bugbears good noses, however with so many people fighting on persons scent could easily get lost if the bugbear isin't focused on finding that one person.

(OOC: I sneak using either my move silently or hide check, whichever is most appropriate, both +6 mod. +5/+5 for each scimitar attack Dmg:1d6+7(part of this is the fact that goblins aremy favoured enemies) for main hand and 1d6+4(as mentioned above +2 from them being my favoured enemies) for off hand. Both have a crit range of 18-20 and do 2 times damage on a crit)

Darkon
Cafeteria
week 1-Monday Afternoon

Well this gruel looks as yummy as it promised to be. On the other hand though at least this food will prepare us for the endless trail rations, shuffled around in our sacks as we travel through swamps, tundras, and deserts and who knows what else as an adventurer.

Still food is food and Darkon's stomach told him that if your hungry enough anything tastes good.

Darkon hears a commotion from the half-orc table and see's that they've taken Levanna's gruel. I think to myself in outrage that it may be disgusting but that dosn't give you any right to take it. Then I think it's time to show these fools to pick on someone there own size. But, just before Darkon goes to confront them, he stops. I think to myself about what i'm about to do.

wait a moment, if I go take that gruel away it'll make Levanna seem weak, which will just make them pick on her more, which will make me have to intervene more, and one time they'll get her and I won't be around.

Thats not fair, I can't get involved here. I think to myself.

Just before Darkon turns away to Levanna deal with it herself, I think and realize that it also isn't fair to leave here to try and deal with three half-orcs all fairly well trained and pretty tough looking.

So Darkon moves up to beside Levanna in a relaxed, but confident position, with his hands lightly resting on the pommels of his blades. He looks down and gives her a supporting grin and waits for her to make the first move.

Subject: Just loving the first day here

Darkon
Director's Office
Week 1-Early Monday morning

A facelick is never a good first sign on the first day of a new school. I hope this place has at least some useful classes.

Oh the director is talking to us I should nod and pretend that i'm intrested.

I wonder what the others in this school are like. I suppose i'll find out soon enough.

I turn around to look at Kired and Shadowborn as Professor O'leary calls to them. They start talking about the gruel they serve and I know that this school may have been beter advertised than it is on paper. Still the training will be really good and I suppose i'm going to have to get used to stuff like crazy facelicks and who knows maybe the gruel will taste better than stale bread rations I had on my way here.

And most importantly at least while i'm adventuring in duengeons it'll be alot easier to see whose your enemies and whose your allies.

Oh apperantly were going on a tour to find our rooms and... hey that halflings pretty sneaky, I might have to take lessons from him too.

Then I hear Levanna say "“ So Ion what grove do you come from? You look like you would have fit very well in my grove but I don’t believe we’ve meet before.”

I spit on the floor and mutter darkly under my breath "Why would anyone care about one of those stupid groves. One group of traitorus backstabbers is like the next if you ask me."

I take a deap breath and remember that I came here to forget about them, so i push the murderous thoughts that pop in my mind out, calm down, and think about the adventuring which is why i'm here.

When i'm thinking about adventuring I realize that i'll have to sign up for some classes while i'm here, preferably ones that specialize in skills on tracking and fighting. Shadowborn looks pretty tough so I ask him "Hey, Shadowborn, what classes will teaches us the most about melee fighting and dungeon skills?"
