Subject: I blame...

I guess you could blame both DragoDorn and Questionable Content for my new arrival to here. It's been fun so far.

Subject: I'll do it

I'd like to join if that's alright. I'm good with background/backstory on characters once I have a good idea what type of campaign is going to be played and what the other characters are going to be in it. I don't like to go against the average alignment of the group as I've seen that destroy good campaigns quickly.

Let me know what the character restrictions, etc are and I'll get a character made up right away.

I was planning on following my last post and going with D'art and anyone else that was going to follow and head towards the what looks like the center of town as that's where Kord thinks the sheriff should be.

I'm not sure who is going to follow. Kord is constantly checking the buildings as he goes to see what the shops/buildings are and if there's any signs or posts that suggest any activity of the sheriff.

Subject: on second thought...

After glancing at the layout of the small town that stretched out in front of him, Kordar decides to reply to D'art and everyone else within earshot of him. Yelling he syas, "I'll fore go doing the usual tiring survey of the town until after we have officially started this thing and have found and discussed with green boy about the people and the thieves."

After hearing Nef last snide comment, Kordar replies with "Si ocuir batobot wux tir ti bvare batobot si kampiun."

And continues to yell towards the others, "The sheriff's place should be near the center of town. Lets start heading that direction those of us that want to meet up with him first." And with he leans towards D'art and says, "Well hello snake 1, walk with snake 2 for a while." (OOC !) And off he starts...

Oh yeah, I totally forgot that meepo used my guy's extra large backpack as a makeshift carriage/home. I do remember him once doing a surprise attack from my backpack and slammed his axe into this one guy giving him a splitting headache (pun intended lol).

Subject: getting out of that dang cart.

Having slept the past few hours, Kordar felt rested but knew as soon as he got out of the cart, he'd need to loosen up a lil to get the stiffness out. Scanning the area in front of the cart as he was climbing out, he was looking to get a full measure of the size of the town, and would set off to check the outskirts of town as he figured he'd easily scare off anyone he got close to before he could question them. Oh, he could chase them down and beat some answers out of them but that wouldn't get him back to the Guild house any quicker nor get him any reliable information on the thieves or the man he was still hunting.

--- OOC ---
What is the approximate size of the town? How long would it take if Kordar was to travel the perimeter of the town? Do we see any townsfolk that don't look afraid to see us? Any that look out of place given that it's just barely morning now? Any guards/patrols/deputies in the area or that we know should be here because of the info during the mission briefing? Do we come through any gates when entering town? What shops are closest to us now? Do we see any shops closed due to the thieves activities? How does the weather/sky look now?
--- OOC ---

Can anyone else think of anything that should be obvious upon our arrive that has not been asked yet?

After the long hours in the cart and with no one really talking to him, he shifts his position towards the front of the cart and settles into for a few hours more sleep before the journey ends.

While hopping into the cart after the mission briefing, Kordar overhears D'artanian lil joke bet and says to him, "I'll put a gold down that says they attack before we see the first one..."

Subject: The mission briefing

Kordar showed up to the meeting to find that Khetarin was already in his spot with his eyes closed but his ears opens and knew that Khetarin was already aware of his presence. Even when appearing disconnected from the world, Khetarin was always ready in a split second for action. That was the only thing he admired about the ninja. Everything else reminded him too often of the past that he couldn't let go of yet.

Kordar set his stuff down beside the human and settled down beside him, front and center of the usual meeting spot. Kordar leaned up against his backpack to relax before the berating and mission briefing started. He learned early on, since being the tallest amongst the usual group and coming nearly even with Leo, that he would be the first to receive his round of berating from the handler. Knowing this, Kordar figured it might as well be on his terms and not some random crap just for the sake of yelling at him.

Kordar was glad once the "kill order" was issues for the thugs as it meant no holding back and reining in his chaos on this mission. Now heading towards the caravan waiting them, he was anxious to get the missions rolling. From the talk around him, he could tell everyone was as eager as ever to get started.

Man, meepo was fun playing with. Especially since my dude, Shaegar - Brass 1/2 Dragon/Merrow Barbarian ended up getting pissed while in a rage and threw Meepo at one of the enemy npcs that he couldn't get to. I rolled a 20 and then Meepo rolled a 20 for the attack. It was freakin awesome. That was a fun Campaign. Everyone started out with the same ECL so we simply had to blast with the characters from the start.

Also, like do we have any really negative or positive standings with any persons and people or groups within the city that we should know about. Has some of our more outstanding personality traits gotten us in trouble in the past or soon to get us in trouble (I guess we'll have to wait and see on that late one huh lol)?

Is there any type of bulletin board or Missions Post to let the Guild house know of upcoming jobs or events? Do we have to help with any specific activities around the guild house or any type of monthly/yearly dues that we need to know about.

Sorry if any of these are dumb question, but just curious to know.

Ah yeah, sorry for that, just wanted to make it clear I was willing to go with either build. Glad we agreed on the Chaos monk and with Kor being CN. And most definitely will show some evil tendencies. Everyone knows hobgoblins have skeletons in the closet, where else are we to store them lol.

Ok, final sheet sent to Shield. I posted on the QA thread and really looking forward to Tuesday/Wednesday or whenever we end up starting. This should be a fun group to run with. I'm waiting to see what type of choas/trouble we end up in/causing.

Subject: and in walk Kordar

After much time spent with the group and having seen the other members out on missions/assignments, Kordar is confident in his ability to jump into the fray without worrying about backup but won't think twice about sliding back out of the way or jumping over to a party member to help, whichever comes to mind first. Having 2 drow, a dire street rat (Zau) and a sneaky bastard (sorry Khetarin, still think of you as that lol) it makes it easy for this guy to go a lil crazy on the fights, though it does sometimes make it hard for the others to depend on him for any set about of damage on the battlefield. But hey, mixing things up keeps the fights lively right?

Subject: Chaos Monk

The Chaos Monk info can be found in Dragon Magazine #335. I have a digital copy I can send if you would like to look over the details of it. As far as using the Chaos variant, I could go with the normal Monk and still use the Hobgoblin. He'd be Lawful Evil, as per the standard alignment of the hob. This should make for a more uniform character.

I'll PM you the background story that I was thinking of using for the chaos monk and will let you decide which way you will allow me to go.

Subject: delay

Sorry for the delay everyone. I'm trying to decide what to go with that would work good with the current group.

I was thinking of going with a Hobgoblin chaosmonk/rogue. I've played a similar character before and I have a pretty good idea what I want to do with him in this type of setting.

If that doesn't work, I can go with the savant/scout gestalt. Not sure if I'd go human or another race for that one though.
