Not picking up gold on the way in. Why carry extra weight around when we can gather it on the way out.

The Seekers made their way to the source of the water sound. Crow identified its source and a bit of time spent revealed gold coins and a potential passage. Elyra let the others look. Soon talk turned to the lack of torches. This was not something that was a problem for her but certainly it was for some of the others and so it was a problem for the Seekers as a group. Ideas were exchanged and it seemed that using candles, bandages and pirate cutlasses was the idea of most merit. "We do not need many torches for those with infravision can use it just fine. Save the torches for those without it. Or we could have those with it take a quick look below and see what we are up against. I am not averse to returning to town to get proper supplies before venturing further. Might get a bit of money for the weapons we have gathered."

Elyra watched the rain dance ceremony with interest. She had seen many religious ceremonies but never this one. Most simply tried to convert people to the worship of a certain god and left the participants with perhaps spiritual well-being but certainly not physical healing. Such a ceremony would be advantageous to the seekers in the future. Not sure that the area was totally safe, she kept one eye on the ceremony and one eye scanning for any approaching danger.

How often can he do the rain dance ceremony? Right now we only have 2 folks who are really injured.

Elyra danced as she had been taught by the elven blade-masters. Her twin short swords seemed almost alive in her hands as she whirled amidst the skeletons. Never stopping, always moving she presented a difficult target and few of her enemies managed to land a blow. Of course her dance was not quite like the blade-masters yet for she missed as often as she connected but in time her skill would increase. As the last of the skeletons dropped to the ground, she sheathed her swords and looked to the other seekers. She was elated to see that all of them still stood though the paladin seemed just a bit wobbly and blood covered his body. Since skeletons do not bleed there was no doubt as to the source of the blood. She was about to move to check on him when she heard a strange sound. Almost musical in nature, it came from the waters to the north.
“Is everyone alright?” She called out. “If so we should investigate the waters. There must be something important there to have such a guard.” After a moment’s pause she added, “And then we should think about heading back to get our wounds tended and report to the Captain.”

Only thing we gain by charging in line to the east is being in line when the others come up behind us for a rear attack. Running will not work. Form a circle and whack them. Circle the wagons works in the westerns.

in a circle we would face all the skeletons but not all 45 would have room to attack us at once. Maybe 2 skeletons per person at a time would have room to attack. I am open to either plan.

Will see what the map shows.

I was envisioning a circle or semi circle with everyone except the illusionist fighting. If we charge we get maybe one round of clear combat with one group then we risk having a second group behind us the next round. As first levels I think it will take more than a round to kill off 15 skeletons.

Elyra is trying to rally her small group into a defensive spot. That way we can form a circle with limit the number of skeletons that we face at a time and do not get surrounded.

Just in case it matters her eye-patch is still on.

Elyra saw the oncoming skeletons and also the large gaps between the seekers. If they stayed in their current spots almost all of them would end up surrounded. "Everyone, close together here at this ruined wall! If we form a semi-circle we can at least not worry about them getting behind us." She turned and moved the few feet to the wall fragment. Then once more she broke into song.

"Waves of bones with arms of rust,
Waves of bones to kill the just.
Stand your ground and be ye brave
Tis your friends you save from the grave"

Bones are rattling as bones must
Send them back to join the dust

Heros rise and heros fall, today we are heros all.
When this eve we light our fire, none shall lay upon a pyre.
Stand with me, we shall not falter,
Tomorrow lay tribute on the alter.

Bones are rattling as bones must
Send them back to join the dust"

Elyra saw Tohmas ready his bow. For a moment she thought about drawing her own but then she wondered what good an arrow would do. Where would it hit? Her foes were nothing but bone; too much empty space to make hitting them worth the effort. Despite her reservations she hoped her companion found a way to hit the creatures.

"Lead the way Willem!" Perhaps there was some logic in attacking one group rather than preparing to defend against all three.

Elyra noticed that Areldor looked a bit nervous. Although she had never faced pirate skeletons before, she was trained in combat. Hoping to put her companion at ease she looked at him and said. "I'll take the skinny ones, you focus on the fat ones."

Seeing that there was no place to run, Elyra drew her twin swords, placed her back against a wall and prepared for battle. She would certainly not rush forward as that was the job of the fighters but she was fairly confident that she could hold her own if necessary. There was nothing left to do now but wait. Elyra broke into a song as the enemy approached.

"Bones are coming rattling on, rattling on, rattling on
Bones are coming rattling on, will we join them?

Never more they smell the rose, smell the rose, smell the rose
Never more they smell the rose, under feet they tromp them

Send them back into the grave, into the grave, into the grave
Send them back into the grave and save their souls"
