Topic: Slate: The Hundred Years of Rain Subject: Geoff looks to the skys
"The rain is near, we should hurry. Damian, your injuries from the rain might be too fresh to try and brave it at this time. You may want to stay. I will go, who is with me. We will want a tracker to at least ook for a trail to follow in the morning."
Looking to all he asks, "what say all of you?"

Topic: Slate: The Hundred Years of Rain Subject: Geoff of Broyhill
Geoff looks across the plain after all of the introductions, inhales deep and lets out in a long sigh.
"The beauty of this land a century ago . . .Can it ever return?" Before any can answer he looks to the direction of the clerics search for wood, "Do we need wood that bad, or can we have a cold camp? I am concerned for the lives and safety of the priests. We also want to set up guard watches, this load of water is more precious then the safety of desperate bandits."

Topic: Slate Q&A Thread Subject: connectivity
We are getting some wonky weather in the area and it messes with the EHF to microwave frequencies, such as wifi signals and it makes it hard to stay connected when the signsl goes from 2 bars to full string and back to 2 bars then gone completely and it makes it hard to get on line and it is "socrayfrustrating" because there is nothing I can do about it and there is nothing xfinity can do about it.
There. Got that off my chest.

and with pathfinder rules on cantrips, it can be cast over and over without losing the spell until it is time to re-memorize spells.

Topic: XP? Subject: depends on the edition you are playing.
in first ed [A D&D] thievs got 1 xp/ gp 'liberated 'from the dungeon, plus 1 xp per trap found disabled and/ or set and 1 xp/ lock.
if the trap or lock was more difficult then average, it was worth more xp.
At least that was the way we played back in the '80s.
in 2nd ed, it was pretty much the same.
But 3.5 and pathfinder the trap has a cr based on the dc that has a value of xp
does that answer the question?
if you are asking just how much is given, well, that is up to the dm in 1st and 2nd editions.

Topic: Slate Q&A Thread Subject: the shield
in character or out? OOC: prestidigitation can do minor magical tricks such as "painting" A design. It eventually fades over time, but still it is there.
the design is the same as his pendant, excet this one thing . . .
just like in the seal of the USA, the eagle grasps arrows and an olive branch. if we are at war and the seal is stamped on something, the eagle is facing the arrows, if the USA is at peace, the Eagle is facing to the olive branch.
the same thing about the dragon. Geoff is at war, so his dragon faces the sword, at the monastery it would have faced the rose.
Hey! don't judge me! I am making this up as I go!!

Topic: Slate Recruitment Subject: more on clay
China/porcelain is a very fine clay and would be in the crust of the dry lake bed. Because of the high resistance to corrosion, it would be a very valuable resource to more affluent regions to make tile for the their roof to prevent the acid rain from destroying their homes.
The more common and heavier clay would be used for building bricks and roof tiles found in Mediterranean environs and used by the common folk.
