Yeah, I came across a couple of minor differences that set them apart, for example that the Kzin homeworld in Known Space (well, the place most assumed to be the Kzin homeworld, since Niven never clearly specifies), is deep in Federation territory and thoroghly colonized by humans in the Trekiverse, the Trek females are sentient, and they don't have the batlike ears. Other than that, they're pretty well the same.

I've read Trek material where the kzin females are still subsentient; you'll see that's how I play Rrowl. *shrug*
The new missio will be unvelied over the next few posts. We still have to bring in a new face or two, but don't worry - it's coming.

If you are simply using an NPC as a mention in your post, then no. If they are going to have a recurring role, its a good idea to add at least name, rank, special, gender, and a physical description to the roster for them.
